  1. What do the Twins know about Schick that the scouting sites don't? I see his highest ranking is 498 from Baseball America.
  2. It's ok to be happy to win a game. A clubhouse dance party is a little excessive for a team this terrible.
  3. The worst pitching staff in baseball and our only problem is we can't make room for Chargois, everyone is too good. Hilarious.
  4. I've always been a proponent of an adjusted slugging percentage, something that takes stolen bases into account.
  5. We all know the WHEN. What day is the estimated super 2 cut off this year? He'll be up the next day.
  6. Nope, we traded Miguel Sulbaran for him, and Sulbaran was previously acquired for Drew Butera.
  7. That's just not true. He was good at every level through AAA up until last year. How long does it have to be to be an extended period of time to you?
  8. The reason I'd want to trade Park is not because I don't like him, but because I don't think we'll be ready to compete during his productive years. I know most of the board sees this year as a painful speed bump that we'll be past soon, but I just don't agree. I think this team is still 3+ years away from even considering contention. We only have 1 starting pitcher above A ball ( aside from maybe Kohl Stewart and his 1 AA start) that has a chance to be anything better than league average, and he's scuffling with control at AAA right now. That's great that we have Buxton and Sano and Kepler and Polanco, but until Jay and Gonsalves and Stewart get closer to the big leagues our pitching staff has no chance to compete in this league, none.
  9. Yep, and unfortunately until that attitude goes away there is zero incentive for the Pohlads to make any changes. Believe me, i agree with every nice thing every said about Target Field. I'd love to be there every night in the summer. And, hopefully someday, when they are back to winning I will. Until then I just can't contribute money to this mess. I can only do my part, even if it isn't enough to make a difference.
  10. Aside from Buxton and Sano, the casual fan (which makes up most of the target audience) has literally never heard of any of those guys. None of those guys are going to sell tickets, at least not in the short term.
  11. Molitor's job is to address these things BEFORE they happen. Anyone can tell him what he did wrong after the fact, no need to pay a manager millions of dollars to do that. I think the consternation is that this type of thing, not knowing obvious situational baseball, is so rampant on this team, that it makes you wonder why the coaching staff isn't teaching them these things beforehand.
  12. Milone went through waivers and wasn't claimed. Why would a team give up a prospect for him, when they could have had him for free a few weeks ago?
  13. A 23 old in his last option year, whose parent club has the worst record in baseball.
  14. Mollies decisions get worse and more bizarre by the day. Wondering if anyone still thinks he's not part of the problem?
  15. They are eating half of it. 30 million is definitely a salary dump no matter how you slice it.
  16. A minimal return would be better than they'll be able to get for him now. No team in baseball would consider him a starter right now.
  17. Short of whipping a toddler with a tree branch, or allowing his 4 year old to climb into a gorilla exhibit, Jack along with every other member of the 91 team, has earned a lifetime pass in my mind.
  18. Start 1: 50 pitch count Start 2: 65 pitch count Start 3; 80 pitch count That gets you roughly 4 innings then 5 innings then 6. Any decent manager should be able to fill the rest with the army of relievers we are carrying right now.
  19. Good. You can never have too much pitching. And, even if Berrios figures it out, the Twins are still in dire straits when it comes to pitching. At least until we see what Gonsalves, Stewart and Jay can do at AA.
  20. Unfortunately I have no faith in Mollie to actually play Kepler every day.
  21. Diamond had a far better milb k/9 than Dean. It's not just SSS, it's so small it means nothing at all. Maybe he's a late bloomer, that would be great. But, the odds are very high that he is AAAA depth at best. I'd rather see May get the starts.
  22. Minnesota Wild beat writer for the Star Tribune. Might be the best beat reporter of any team in any sport.
  23. You can bypass the starter if it's a manual transmission. Even on an automatic it's not quite a 2 ton paper weight. As long as the battery works it's at least a 2 ton stereo. Without the battery it really is a paper weight, so I'd go with that.
  24. Pat Dean's future is most likely that of AAAA depth. Small sample size works both ways guys, not just when someone is struggling. The tiny bit of MLB innings he's thrown thus far are statistically meaningless. Remember Scott Diamond?
