  1. Enough of this nonsense. Yep, let’s trade our young future stars for a bunch of washed up has beens while we give away our future? No, it’s time to bring up the youngsters from the minor league system to fill the holes we have. Our minor league system is rated number 2 in all of baseball. Time to bring the kids up and see what they can do. Also time to get rid of an inept manager who can’t teach basics and relies on his computer and hire a manager who knows how to develop these young talented kids.
  2. Duran never knew what his role was this year - 9th inning, 7th inning, 8th inning? Baldelli is the absolute worst manager in MLB when it comes to effective management of a pitching staff. Don’t get rid of Duran, get rid of Baldelli and hire somebody to manage who has a clue.
  3. I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m so darn sick of the “cheap” Pohlad battle cry. How about looking to the front office for all the horrible trades and washed up players they picked up. How about looking at a manager who has no baseball sense and has no idea how to develop and get the best out of his young players because he is so focused on analytics.
  4. Funny- Cleveland's payroll is $30 million less than the Twins, Detroit's was $22 million less and KC's was $10 million less. Gee, how did they all make the playoffs with such a low payroll? This is proof it isn't just a spending issue- it's a front office and manager issue. The manager is horrible and the front office isn't much better. Time to clean house!
  5. They only go 4-5 innings because of a manager that has no business being a manager.
  6. Again, KC’s payroll is $10 million less than the Twins. I would also argue that the Twins are indeed a small market team just as the Royals are.
  7. I’m not sure if all you Pohlad haters realize this but KC’s payroll is $10m less than the Twins and Detroits is $20 million less than the Twins. The Braves, Cubs, Giants, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Angels, White Sox, Mariners and others are all higher than the Twins payroll and none of them look like they will make the playoffs. My point is this- spending money doesn’t guarantee you anything. An efficient and capable front office and a manager who has some baseball sense instead of relying on his computer spewed analytics is just as if not more important.
  8. My bad, in talking to some of my fellow Twins fans one of them said we were 4-12 or 4-14. I'm not saying 4-7 isn't bad but it is obviously nowhere near as bad as I was led to believe.
  9. I can’t say for certain but I believe the Twins record in extra inning games this year is 4-14. Somebody please check me on this. In any event the Twins record in x inning games is pathetic and that falls on the manager.
  10. Unbelievable! Buxton and Correa are not in the lineup today. I hate to say it but I hope the Twins miss the playoffs so heads will roll - especially Baldelli's. He can't be gone soon enough.
  11. Larnach batting 8th behind Farmer 5th, Martin 6th, and Vasquez 7th? Santana batting leadoff with the speed of a turtle?
Hey Rocco! You might want to reset your little analytical baseball computer. You don’t have a clue.

Speed hasn't been a leadoff pre-requisite in quite some time.  Almost going back to the days of Whitey Herzog putting George Brett in the top spot.

  12. I’m pretty sure I will be one of the few on this board but I say it’s time for Baldelli to go. Enough of his damn analytics. Each day you have different guys playing different positions as well as different batting orders. There is no consistency whatsoever. He needs to play his best 8 position players in the same position for numerous games in a row. Same with the batting order. Yes, I know we are going through a lot of injuries to key players. Yes, I know these are supposed to be professionals. But that is no excuse for using a different lineup each and every day in the field and at the plate. The players need to be able to settle in and not wonder each day what their role will be. Baldelli over manages to the detriment of the team.
  13. I’m just curious why the Twins DFA’d Boushley and called up Castillo. I don’t have an answer or an opinion. Just curious. Any opinions?
  14. If Louie would change his mindset and embrace a relievers role I think he could be excellent for many years. He has really good stuff. He seems to struggle getting past 3 - 4 innings on the mound. The bullpen is where he belongs. Hopefully he himself will come to that realization.
  15. I’m curious as to whether or not the Twins had Paddack’s contract insured. If so, and if he can’t pitch next year, perhaps the $7.5 million hit to payroll won’t be in play.
  16. Turnaround? Really? The only turnaround I want to see with Thielbar is his release. His better days are behind him and it’s time for him to hang it up.
  17. Baldummy needs to go. He doesn’t develop players, players do not know their roles as he keeps changing everything from batting order to positions and he can’t manage a pitching staff. Rocco- please take your computer and your total lack of baseball sense and leave. Please!
  18. Bottom of 8. Down 2 runs. Bases loaded and nobody out! What does Baldummy do- he pinch hits Margot, yes the same Margot who was 0 -22 as a pinch hitter! We need a new manager. One with some baseball sense. Baldummy has none.
  19. Pretty simple. Get rid of Margot and call up Wallner.
