  1. "Make them" take Max, Gallo and Then give up a good prospect. Say Raya... and if needed a lotto ticket guy from the low minors... Throw him in Center for the rest of the year against righties..
  2. 100% they need to trade him before the deadline. As far as not getting something of value back.. it is an ABSOLUTE sellers market for starting pitching! I would guess they would get something in the neighborhood of 2 quality minor leaguers for him at minimum. Let us not be delusional and think this team has a shot in the playoffs even IF we win the division... Look at the big picture front office...
  3. You serious? Lopez was clearly gassed and did not have it at the end of the previous inning... Mismanaging the bullpen is his specialty.. if you have been watching this year...
  4. I do believe that the Dodgers are looking for pitching... Would be smart to move Gray and Meata... would guess they would be interested in pitching... getting back the best possible prospects at this point would be a win... We clearly are spinning our wheels in the sand...
  5. Saw one of the so called experts report we had the 3rd best draft of all teams. So hard to evaluate.. until they get down the road a bit..
  6. Terrible approaches day in and day out ... career good hitters not hitting.. It's time.. Molitor until the end of the year and then find a permanent hitting coach that can teach, preach and prepare for guys to understand hitting to all fields and situational hitting.
  7. What is your source on the medicals? read several articles... no mention of any medical issues. In fact state he is a physical stud.
  8. Move Max and Gallo for whatever possible that may help. Addition by subtraction.
  9. Gallo... gotta go.. Max ... Gotta go... Sonny... If a top prospect is offered up ... gotta do.. Kenta ... if "decent" prospect if offered up ... gotta do.. Those are the main Gotta go... Gotta do Guys...
  10. Disaster of a signing and disastrous play. 3-4 mil with incentives fine.. 11 mil insane. Highlights the path of Baldelli's thinking .. hit it out of the park or strike out. Poor foresight with the rule change and worse results. He should be let go as soon as possible and let some of the young guys play... Walner especially... Also while Max is hitting... Trade before he goes back to his norm... which is not very good.
  11. Umm... Baldelli's LACK of leadership is why we are where we are. Took a players meeting where the players took and discussed that they need to take accountability for their play including and highlighted the hitting. Players have to hold each other accountable to be a team driven team but... Coaches also have to hold themselves accountable which I don't really see. The approach for the at bats for the time of our new hitting coach has been terrible.. where is the accountability? Baldelli's continued misuse of the bullpen has screwed up Lopez and Duran and others who have no clue what their roll is. If the hitting coach and manager were being held accountable they likely would have been fired. Hmmm.. with the all star break up us.... timing would seem to fit.
  12. If we get an A list manger and hitting coach.. fine... otherwise as is with a D manager and hitting coach... it is pointless!!
  13. Completely disagree, The evidence of how the hitters approach their AB's is terrible as evidenced by their results. Fact. If you listened to the hitters after the all players meeting it was about "accountability" .... Baldelli talked about Popkins giving them the numbers and the players have to use the numbers and the info to be better... WHAT? Numbers are just that .... that is NOT coaching. Coaching is actually looking at the AB's.. figuring out what is not working and changing to make it better... Not holding the coaching staff accountable for what there job is... is not good. Players need to be held accountable as do the coaches.
  14. More of the same... Should not expect anything different until Baldelli and Popkins are gone. Baldelli mismanages the bullpen for the 100th time... Twins continue to have poor AB's... thanks Popkins. Hopefully the FO will make some changes during the all star break...
  15. The "tangible" evidence IS in the numbers that the team continues to provide. Crystal clear evidence actually.
  16. Actually David Popkins the hitting coach and Baldelli are our biggest problems. Their direction in the hitting department (all or nothing mentality and lacking a quality plan at the plate) and Baldelli's lack of overall ability to adjust to the new game with the new rules is "our biggest" problem. Am hoping for a change very soon. Too much talent on this team and system to be where we are at.
  17. Data and numbers are fine but everyone needs to understand it comes down to how they are used and the validly of the numbers... Example is exit velocity... Great that Gallo can hit it 118 miles per hour out of the park... Buxton... Correa... etc.. but What is the exit velocity of a strike out? Zero! A better stat would average exit velocity of all AB's. My guess Is Gallo and Bux is about 20 MPH. A stat the "analytics" hate is hitting with runners on base or in scoring position... to that crowd it is an invalid stat saying it is all the same... WRONG again. Hitting with runner on or in scoring position is a skill and an art. Swinging from your heels hoping to run into one is not... We lack that fundamental skill and Rocco and the new hitting coach "don't get it"... Data... would say they both need to go..
  18. If we do not come to a contract extension... the long play would be to send him back to an NL playoff team that is needing pitching. We clearly at this point are not a contender for the AL pennant. HAVE to think long term if no deal is struck.
  19. Gallo is/was/continues to be a disaster. The front office not willing to recognize it is ridiculous. Looking at other signings is a revisionist history that is low hanging fruit. We should have done better. That being said the hitting coach should be fired ... continuing to have the same approach and expecting something different is the definition of insanity. Although, that would explain things. LOL
  20. Was pissed when they signed him... pretty much assured this was going to be the outcome. A signing of 5 plus incentives fine... 12 mil for a reclamation project. Stupid. Time to cut bait and let Walner take his place... today!!
  21. Pretty clear to "most" that Gallo and Kepler need to be moved... ASAP. Both are MAJOR liabilities with the bat. Their defense is good but not enough to make up for their lack of quality ab's and lack of production. We have internal options for their replacement so unless getting a "major" upgrade... no need to use assets. We shall see.
