  1. Yes it WAS a bad roster in spring training and when the season started. I stated this fact many times on this forum. How can you look at the names on this roster and believe they should be performing better? They were who they have always been. Kepler, Farmer, Miranda, Gallo!, Kiriloff, Larnach etc., etc., etc. It's not getting any better folks!
  2. I have a hard time deciding which would be better. Keep having bullpen implodes so we don't make the playoffs and Rocco gets fired. Or correcting the problem and being a winning team.
  3. Kiriloff: another MEDIOCRE AT BEST bat in an already terribly weak lineup. Things just don't look like they are going to get any better until we make a few trades or bring up the wonder kids from the minors. We have to quit relying on the same old same old!
  4. Well, I respectfully disagree. We could use an upgrade at almost every position, but obviously that isn't feasible. Every line up in the majors has weak spots. However we have about 6-7 weak spots one through nine on almost every night. We need to upgrade in at least half of them. 3B, LF, RF, 1B, C to start. We might see alot more 1-0, 2-0, 3-1 losses until that happens.
  5. I was the one (there may be others) that said Twins hitting would suffer this year and struggle scoring with poor clutch hitting. I said guys like Larnach are not big league hitters. We will find out Kiriloff is the same.
  6. How can you call Kiriloff, Larnach and Gallo major league caliber hitters? They have done nothing so far. And from the right side, Jeffers, and Taylor? Cmon. This is not a lineup that is going to scare anyone. We have Miranda, Correa, Buxton, Polanco, Gordon, and Farmer with the last two being iffy. I just can't get excited about these hitters. Watched it for too long.
  7. Bingo. I just don't have the optimism I see others have. Terrible last year with runners in scoring position game after game. Plus too lefty dominant. Need a big right handed bat. Could have had Haniger for little or nothing. I hope the kids we have prove me wrong.
  8. Agree. We traded our most consistent hitter from a team that really hasn't added any offense from last year. We have about 3 proven hitters and then a bunch of question marks with hope. As mentioned earlier, we could have used a Haniger type bat in the lineup. Could be alot of 3-2, and 4-3 losses this year.
  9. We still don't have enough bats. Lineup is weak, with Kiriloff, Kepler, Gallo, Gordon, Larnach etc., etc. I wouldn't worry so much about pitching. We are going to have too many games where we are going to struggle to score. We need one more BIG bat in the middle of the lineup.
  10. Couldn't agree more with your first paragraph. This team is going to struggle to score runs. Too much lack of contact bats. That's why I don't understand the concentration on the pitching. Our pitching is serviceable, we need a big time right handed bat, maybe two.
  11. Pick two guys out of each group that you have faith in while at the plate. Can't do it. That's our problem. I wouldn't worry about our pitching, although our BP could be a little stronger, it's that everyday line up that scares me! Where is the concern out there for the lack of improving our line up? Gallo and Taylor? Not going to cut it.
  12. People keep talking about pitching, pitching, pitching! Has anyone looked at the lineup we are going to have to put out there on a daily basis?? Kiriloff, Larnach, Vazquez, Gallo, Kepler etc, etc, etc?? We better start finding someone who can hit their weight, or the pitching won't matter!
