I am tired of the whole conversation. Buxton playing CF is the least of this clubs worries and should be the least of our worries. Buxton doesn't score runs, or hit with runners in scoring position, or move runners up instead of striking out, while playing CF. Those should be our worries. Taylor is plenty adequate defensively in CF.

I also don't know when hitting .230 - 250 became acceptable in MLB. It's pathetic

Do we have to be the team that doesn't have one? And yes, that is my stance. Do something to fix the problem. Sign a career 199 hitter for 11 mil that might hit a HR every 15 at bats but overlook someone that can put the ball in play and hit .280. Baseball has gotten away from the fundamentals of putting the ball in play to trying to see how hard and far you can hit it. I guess .280 is asking too much.

I am not just speaking of qualified. If they don't have required number of AB's doesn't mean they can't continue above .280. I count at least 40 over .280 either playing or on IL. Plus you can add the guys not in the majors that could hit over .280. I would say .280 isn't Ted Williams like it's only Cesar Tovar like! You can't find 3 guys like that? Cmon!

1. Wallner - Unproven but has showed potential. Need to be an everyday player the rest of the year to determine what his future will be. 2. Celestino - Has not impressed. Can be overlooked. 3. Gordon - Walking infirmary. Has showed potential to be a utility player but cannot stay on the field so we cannot count on him. 4. Larnach - Major disappointment at the MLB level. Cannot be counted on for long term. We are back to, we have no proven MLB outfielders in the pipeline. Probably the easiest position to fill with .280+ hitters. Just terrible foresight by the organization.

Someone earlier mentioned Lane Thomas. I really like him. Would be your leadoff hitter for years. He has speed, and some power and hits for a a really good avg. We need more players like him instead of the 30HR, 150 K's a year. Give me contact and avg before that. Would have to give up a high prospect to get him, but I think well worth it. I also like Friedl and Fraley from the Reds.

I won't comment other than to say this is a terrible lineup and pretty much what we have used all year except Buxton being DH and Polanco hurt as usual. These guys have proven for a couple years or more that they can't get it done. We need a major overhaul.

Thanks for reminding me. Larnach is another one you can demote or trade. I have zero confidence in his ability to hit and/or stay healthy. Wallner would be the one they need to ride the rest of the year out with. Have to figure out what he can do on an extended basis.

In my eyes heres what we have on todays rostor: 1B ? 2B Julien / Have to see if he is an MLB player 3B Lewis/ Most proven to date which says alot SS Correa/ Because we have to LF ? CF ? RF ? C Jeffers 80% Vazquez 20% by default Now fill in the rest with youngsters from the minors. Have to cut the dead wood (Kepler, Gallo, Miranda, Castro, Taylor) Polanco, Farmer, Kiriloff and Solano as insurance and bit players My gawd what a pathetic roster.

I have been fairly indifferent since the beginning of the season. I knew, and posted, exactly what is happening with this offense. A few guys agreed with me, but more did not. Now that it is obvious the front office doesn't care, I don't care either. I still hope they win, but won't spend any time on them. Let's GO VIKINGS!

It's hard to teach old dogs new tricks. Kepler, Correa, Polanco, Gallo. This is going to take a complete rebuild on the offensive side, cause they truly are offensive. I said before the season started in a post that this offense was going to be terrible and that we would lose alot of 3-2, 2-1 games. I was pretty close. Seriously, what other team offense would you take the Twins over? Maybe Oakland, Kansas City? Certainly not Washington or Cubs or other cellar dwellers. That says it all

Love Lane Thomas. I don't think you can get him for Larnach. Larnach has not proven he will even stay in the majors, especially with his injury issues. If we get Thomas, we would have a leadoff hitter with decent power and speed and durability for years. Would probably take a high end prospect to get him.

I agree with everything. It's the lack of production by "everyone" in the lineup, not the fact we are missing Arraez that this offense is horrible.

Just take a look at that starting batting order for tonight's opener against Kansas City. Let it sink in, batter by batter. All you can say is WOW.

So many posts about Kiriloff, Kiriloff, Kiriloff. That's the problem. He is not a major league hitter. If he is what you are counting on in the middle of the lineup, these results don't surprise me. Add Larnach, Miranda, Gallo on and on.
-
You can't have a knack of striking out and be in the Twins line up. On a serious note, as long as it's 25% of the time or less, Wallner would be an upgrade. I think Falvine has a soft spot for the veterans and just keeps riding with them when younger better options are available. ie; Kepler, Gallo, Salano, Pagan, Farmer

#1. This everyday lineup is not made up of major league hitters. Do not need to name them and breakdown each one. It's too obvious. #2. Rocco is a terrible manager. Again, do not need to give specifics. Too many pitching decisions and strategy blunders to mention. #3. FO did a pretty good job addressing starting pitching. Failed on adding 1-2 shutdown BP arms, have lost games because of it. Completely failed on adding help to the everyday lineup. We needed 2-3 proven major league hitters added. We added a big fat Zero.

At least they are accurate.

Yes it WAS a bad roster in spring training and when the season started. I stated this fact many times on this forum. How can you look at the names on this roster and believe they should be performing better? They were who they have always been. Kepler, Farmer, Miranda, Gallo!, Kiriloff, Larnach etc., etc., etc. It's not getting any better folks!

Twins Fantasy Fix (5/8): Welcome back, Alex!
Hubie29 replied to Mike Rose's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Kiriloff: another MEDIOCRE AT BEST bat in an already terribly weak lineup. Things just don't look like they are going to get any better until we make a few trades or bring up the wonder kids from the minors. We have to quit relying on the same old same old!- 4 replies

4 Early Trade Targets that Can Upgrade the Twins' Offense
Hubie29 commented on Cody Christie's article in Twins
Well, I respectfully disagree. We could use an upgrade at almost every position, but obviously that isn't feasible. Every line up in the majors has weak spots. However we have about 6-7 weak spots one through nine on almost every night. We need to upgrade in at least half of them. 3B, LF, RF, 1B, C to start. We might see alot more 1-0, 2-0, 3-1 losses until that happens.- 30 comments
