The worst thing that could happen to a young player happen to him. He had a run of grand slam homeruns. Now everyone including him think he is a power hitter. He needs to go to St Paul to work on his approach at the plate. Hitting a homerun is not a every at bat approach. Even the booth talks homerun when Lewis steps into the box every at bat. I do remember a couple of weeks ago he had a great at bat when he hit a line drive up the middle with bases loaded. This is the kind of thing that can help turn things around for him.

The division games have more importance than games out of the division. You can't just give them away the way this team does. If it takes 11 or more innings to win so be it. Can't worry about the BP for the next series unless it's in the division.

Throw the extra inning plan in the trash please. You need to tie the game before you can win the game. Get the runner to 3rd with no one out. And don't send 3 hitters up swinging for the fences. I watched the Phillies hit 2 sac flies in one inning to score the tying run from 2nd. The living and dying by analytics stupid and needs to end.

Sorry but Lee is hard to watch at the plate right now. It doesn't matter if it's from the left or right side. He may need to be sent to St Paul to get right. Can't keep hoping he will get better when they are already hoping with Lewis. The pitching staff is doing their job,but for how long. Not going to win with only one or two guys hitting.

I think both the Giants and the Mets are glad they walked away from C4. When paying a player the money the Twins are its about both sides of the ball. He really needs to be better on the offensive side. We can see that Lee is starting to look weak at the plate. And hoping Lewis is or will come around is questionable. You can also see that the other replacements other than Clemens are lacking.

First things first the Metrodome was a dumb. The fans want to watch baseball outdoors. The only stadium worse than the dome was Tampa. April and May are rainy months and games will be need to be rescheduled from time to time. The weather that is happening now is not a normal thing. The games should be canceled until a later date because a wet field could result in injuries.

Yesterday is Yesterday can't worry about what happened. This is a very important week with Cleveland and KC coming in. With no C4 or Buxton the replacements have to step up or the streak will be for not. As for Zebby hopefully he learned that 97,98 in the middle of the zone doesn't work up here. Alcala is the righthand version of Moran great stuff no control. Walks and wild pitches get you sent down or DFA'ed.

Paddock is challenging hitters to swing the bat not worrying about strike outs. His last 2 starts his pitch count has been 10-12 pitches per inning. Hopefully this is the new and improved Paddock.

Has to improve on pitch location, goes 3-2 on to many hitters. That results in his pitch count climbing way before the 5th inning. Watching Lopez his last couple of starts he has had the same problem. But he has the ability to come back with a inning or two with 10 pitches or less. And SWR has not been able to do the same. I think you will see the same problem with Festa and or Zebby. It takes a bit of an attitude to go after the hitters.

They have been playing baseball for 7 games finally. The base running has been good except for Castro that could have been game changing. This type of at bats seems to be all across baseball. The manager and coaches really need to really get after the players to get out of the box and run. They can celebrate all they want once they are safe on the base. It's a good thing Lewis made the play late at 3rd because his at bats look really bad. Every at bat he looks over matched.

Playing better baseball since losing the Cleveland series. But the Lewis as DH could become a big problem because he is running at about 75%. Almost any other player in the dugout would have been safe on the hit in the hole to Henderson. The weekend games in Boston may have been different with Lewis in the lineup. He maybe would be better suited to cheer the team on for now.

Royce Lewis Returns: Trading the Hot Corner for DH
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The team had 2 huge mistakes over the weekend because of rotating 2nd and 3rd baseman. First was the ball up the middle that C4 and Clemens looked at each other like yours or mine. Then pop fly behind 3rd that was Larnach,s but I think he heard Bride call it or thought he was going run into him. If Lewis is or isn't going to be the everyday 3rd baseman let's settle it now not later. And it is time that the coaching staff work with Lewis to not over do things in the weight room. Too much lifting shortens muscles and will make it easier to pull muscles. After all he did pull his hamstring running to 1st. As you do remember he pulled it last year running from 1st to 3rd opening day.- 64 replies

This team fell into the Fenway trap as usual. They all were trying to hit the ball off or over the LF wall.

Guardians 4, Twins 3: Yet Another Wet Slap
David Maro replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Just another game where they decided to not play baseball. Watching Cleveland do all the little things and the Twins not. How do you lose a game when you have 12 hits to Cleveland 2 hits going into the 9th inning. They seem to find a way to keep giving games away. This has to go on Rocco and he has to go. How many extra inning games has he let slip away.- 81 replies

Louis Varland Has a Meatball Problem
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It's time that he learns to be a pitcher not a thrower. He believes he can throw his pitches past hitters. That mentality is fine if you can locate the pitches,he can't. I remember a pitcher in the past who thought the same named Berrios. Until that day happens he will be watching hits going into the seats. -
Apparently some of us don't see a sarcastic post when read. I think everyone knows scouts and coaches don't want pitches thrown down the middle. My point was don't keep throwing the same pitch again and again until you make a mistake.

Scouting is telling pitchers fastballs down the middle to Manzardo and Naylor. Apparently no one payed attention to Naylor's at bat the night before. Paddock kept throwing fastballs by him until he timed him up. Then of course the Little League team shows up with Jeffers and Lopez. Let's throw the ball into RF and hit the pitcher in the back.

I have said for years Varland isn't a pitcher,he is a thrower. He basically put the pitch on the tee for Manzardo. The offense was also a no show which seems to happen after a big game the day before. Enough already with Julien leading off. He apparently doesn't understand his job is take some pitches so the hitters behind him get a look.

Let's not get to excited about Lewis until he has been back on the field for at least 6 weeks. He has not shown he can stay healthy since being brought up. Hopefully Larnach stays hot so that not having Wallner until June isn't a problem. It seems like Bride is OK filling in for Castro from the right side of the plate.

No Duran tonight with the trouble he created on his own. Took 32 pitches to get a fly ball out that only a few CF would get to.
