We are talking about the Twins here, with Kepler gone all but CF and SS are open positions. With Correa and Buxton more likely to be on IL a good part of the season those positions will be open as well. Both Julien and Lee need to play winter ball and work on their game. This season got away from the team because of far too many wasted at bats.At this point they are unwatchable and time for changes across the board. On Sunday night the hitting coach gone and all of his plan thrown in the trash. That includes the homerun or bust idea. All of the rookies come up with good approach but then fall into the homerun or nothing.Julien,Lee and Martin should be working to become ducks on the pond not swinging for the fences.Again it's called baseball not homerun.

I told anyone who would listen at the start of the season this team would finish in 4th in the division.I know people think it's easy to say that now.A team that cuts payroll and thinks they can compete is dreaming.Everyone of the young players fell off a cliff. Both of the big dollar players spent close to half the season on the IL.The starting pitching had 2 of the 5 unproven because of a rebuilt arm and a thrower not a pitcher. It is time for major changes to take place starting with the upper management and and the fans need make their voices heard. After all the taxpayers paid for a large percentage of Target Field.

Time to be honest here, this team has given up and are ready to hit the Links. They can't hit and the so called leaders on the team look even worse than the rookies.Just look at Buxton who struck out time and time again this weekend. And Correa surely didn't look any better. And to make matters worse a manager who's moves blew up in his face again and again. We at least can now move on to the Vikings who are giving the fans something to cheer for.

Rocco made sure this one went extra innings with his poor decisions earlier.Miranda looked blind at the plate and should of been PH for sooner. He started swinging at pitches coming out of the dugout. After all the talk about Farmer's speech and the way he has been swinging the bat he may have been able to get the ball in play. With men on 2nd and 3rd Miranda swung at 3 pitches not even close to the zone. And of course the Margot for Vasquez PH why what more does he need to see.Because of these decisions he had to basically use the whole BP.Now Lopez will have the pressure of needing to go deep into the game Saturday.

As I said before where's Topa?Everyone said the team needed BP help to start the season. The trade of Polanco did bring Santana not BP help.It also got the team 2 pitchers that won't see the mound until next year. And 1 of those maybe not until 2026.If the FO was brought in to build a pipeline of pitching they have failed badly. The pitching coach is never talked about and should be.He has 3 rookie pitchers who don't seem to be making progress.SWR still has a problem walking way too many hitters.Festa pitches like he is a BP arm that runs out of gas after 3 innings. And of Varland who thinks he a SP in his mind believes he can blow every hitter away. With any luck Zebby will stay close to Lopez and Ober and let them guide him.

There are zero teams lining up to trade for Correa. With his feet not foot issues the team is stuck with him. They now have 2 big hits to the payroll in Correa and Buxton. Both give them a half season or a little more. And don't forget about Lewis who is waiting in the wings for his money. He himself has not shown he can't stay on the field. And on top of that has a manager who is giving him days off regularly.

Carl Willis has been and is the best pitching coach in baseball.Cleveland has a totally different starting 5 from the start of the season. He had the Twins looking like little leaguers at the plate. When a starter starts to show signs of breaking down they trade them. They also have the best BP with half of that staff on the IL that started the season.

I don't know what people have been watching. If there is no changes made with the FO or the manager you will not see everyday position players.Every position but 1st base and catcher has had 4 or more players play there. We now have a team of utility players over all.So I would say Castro has lost the label.

I don't think anyone on this site would be crying the blues if they had invested 44 million and turned it into 900 million. And much of that on the taxpayers back with them paying a large amount for Target Field.

Where's Topa!! To all of you who say more pitching, how about all the pitchers on the IL. This whole collapse is on Falvey with him bringing in pitchers with dead arms. And Topa sitting the whole season with a bad knee. If it would of been dealt with in the spring he would have been available by now. As for as last night why a rookie in the 10th. Why not Irvin,he threw 3 pitches the night before. Rocco said he would and could be used in many different situations. This game was just one more game given away at a time when you can't do that.

Nice win,but why did Lee and Julien waste at bats against Morgan. It was first at bats for them and 1 pitch and done. And of course Rocco sending Margot up to hit into a DP was the norm for him.He has had 6 years to learn how to become a manager with nothing learned.Managers have to have a feel for each and every game.At the time Wallner was the only one who seemed to be putting good at bats together.

Should the Twins Bring Back Carlos Santana in 2025?
David Maro replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This FO only wants players who can play multiple positions.Because of this he will not be offered a contract and you can put Kepler in the same situation.Next year you will see the same thing happening at SS because C4 can't stay on the field.Every position is going to have a 2nd and a 3rd option because of injuries and a manager who changes lineups at the drop of a hat.- 95 replies

This team is being run poorly and needs new owners. After signing a one year deal did they think someone would come to them begging to sign a long term deal. The bigger problem now has become cable is dying everyone is changing to subscription apps.It is time to wakeup and get with the times. Also MLB and teams need to understand that fan bases live all across the country. That means they don't want to listen to the other team's broadcast.
-
This team is flat with a manager who has lost the team. They are now ready for the season to end.If you watch them hit they are in a hurry for the at bat to be over. You shouldn't need a sausage or a hat or a vest to play the game you all claim to love. This off season needs to have top to bottom changes made to shake the organization up.Many of the other teams have budgets in the same range and are looking for better than this team.
-
This team has become embarrassing to watch and listen to.The booth bragging about Wallner's arm,how about his inability to read the ball.Anyone who thinks Correa and Buxton will save the season need a wake up call. Detroit has a far better manager and a team with far better players. It also looks like KC will take 1st away from Cleveland. Time to check those golf reservations.

Different day same problem, walk hitters and pay the price. Different day same problem, hitters swinging at pitches feet out of the zone. Looking for Buxton and Correa to save the season is wishful thinking.Correa hasn't played in 2 months and Buxton about a month. What happens tonight when Lopez hits 83 pitches, does Rocco say thanks but we're going to the BP.

Typical Twins trying to hit 3 run homeruns with no one on base.As I said before the Tigers deserve to be in and probably will be. It also shows that few players have interest in playing a different position each and every day.Because of this you are seeing mistakes all over the field.

The Positive Spin On Max Kepler's Impending Departure
David Maro replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He is on the IL for a problem with the left knee.He took a foul ball off his right knee at the start of the season. He is and has been a hot and cold hitter his whole career. You really can't count 19 because that was a juiced ball year. You now have MLB happy with 90% of the league hitting 240 or less because the fans want homeruns and don't care about strike outs. They should of DFAed him because if and when he returns there will be only 10 or fewer games left.Almost everyday teams are DFAing players and he has no contract,so the money owed isn't a issue.- 26 replies
