  1. The only concern is risk of major injury.
  2. No, if he's doing well you keep him on. You can't micromanage these things, look at the Blue jays did with Berrios.
  3. I love this move, it’s very brave. If we win game 1, I think Maeda might start game 2, then I hope Lopez & Gray start game 3 & 4. We don’t start Ryan, just pick the best player for the job.
  4. I hope it’s not Ryan because I’m absolutely not confident. I hope it’s Maeda and I hope Ober makes the roster for the next round.
  5. Polanco needs to be benched, he’s gonna cause us to lose games with his terrible defense.
  6. I agree. Ryan has been horrendous and still hasn’t solved his homerun problems. We can’t have a pitcher who gives up bp fastball home runs. I’m still getting nightmares about all the postseason home runs and leads we’ve given up. Start a combination of Kenta/Ober in a potential game 3.
  7. The obvious choices we already know. For the final spots I would go with Ober, Castro, Solano, and Larnach. I would definitely not include Buxton (he’s not healthy enough) and or Joey Gallo. We cannot start Joe Ryan in a game 3, he’s been horrendous recently and can’t stop giving up home runs. He uses his fast ball too much and the movement is not what it used to be. I would start Kenta in a hypothetical game 3 and use Ober and Ryan in relief. I’m comfortable with Kenta starting or in relief, but don’t know who you’d start in a game 3 if not Kenta.
  8. A hallfamer (Al Kaline) and the most overrated player in sports history. Nice.
  9. Yeah agreed. I almost gave up on Martin and SWR. It’s important to be patient with minor leaguers, especially young players like Martin and SWR.
  10. Raya is in AA and Festa is in AAA. Look at Atlanta and how they develop young pitchers and call them up from AA/AAA.
  11. Gotta love those piranhas right?
  12. You know they could easily the win division right? Like they did last year? Twins have some tough matchups too coming up.
  13. I‘m not confident in Ryan/Ober because they’re immensely talented but can be feast or famine especially with regards to home runs. I can already imagine them giving up 3 run homerun/Grand slam when we have the lead and the game is on the line.
  14. Funderburk Should be called immediately and Sands, Balz, and Winder should all be demoted. They’ve been horrible. DFA Gallo too.
  15. Agreed. Kirillof will be back and first base is his natural position and he’s a much better defender. They have a lot of decisions to make this offseason because Buxton is taking up too many DH reps and Brooks Lee, Severino are coming through and Miranda is still our young player that’s also defensively limited.
  16. Yes brother. We’ve waited for an ace for a long time. Hopefully Ryan can figure it out and Ober bounces back.
  17. Great Team effort. Good pitching is always an antidote to teams woes. Lopez is fast becoming our bonafide ace. Long it may continue.
  18. It’s unlikely but I think we should bring all of them back, we can never have enough pitchers. Convert Maeda to reliever if you need to. Let Mahle rehab as much as needed. I would have a 6 man rotation and let them battle out for starting. The only guaranteed starters are Lopez, Ryan, Ober and Gray if he comes back. A 6 man rotation will take pressure off the bullpen too.
  19. Spot on. Gray and Maeda will be gone I believe. We definitely need bullpen help.
  20. Why use Belzovic in a tight game? Use your better bullpen arms, they’re rested.
  21. You make some good points. You don’t know what you have with Larnach and others if you don’t give them a chance. I would save the $10 million and use that money towards a bonafide ace or all-star hitter.
  22. I haven’t watched much Minnesota minor league games but I follow Tom and read as much minor league reports as I can. I was puzzled as to why guys like Chris Williams, Camargo, and Stevenson haven’t been promoted. Chris Williams has close 30 hrs and has been on tear and Camargo has been streaky too. Stevenson has been good and has major league experience. Why aren’t these guys being promoted?
