  1. Agreed on Wolters. Camargo as a catcher, yes. Williams as a catcher, no. That is a big problem for him to get called up which is the same problem Isola has. If either was a good catcher, they would be on track for MLB.
  2. Half the time. He is terribly inconsistent. One game is great and the next terrible and it keeps going like that, which is why his ERA is high.
  3. He was out of the 5th inning with a double play grounder, giving up only 1 run. But the infield botched the double play, which would have ended the inning, and 3 runs score. Keep Varland in the rotation, let Maeda build up to enter the pen, and cut Pagan.
  4. I believe he is eligible for the Rule 5 draft this winter and teams love to take pitchers in that (ex - Tyler Wells). Sounds like you are saying Grace is good so we have to put him on the 40 man or, IMO, he will get nabbed in the draft.
  5. Rodriguez will be on the 40 man roster next year. No way they let him get away in the Rule 5 draft.
  6. 2024 - Because of injuries, I don't see Polanco on the Twins. I think it will be Julien with Farmer taking AB's against lh's and replacing Julien on D late in games. Julien will have the same opportunity as Miranda had this year. If he doesn't get it done, one of Martin or Lee will probably be ready to overtake him at 2B. Having the oft injured Buxton doesn't give the Twins a chance to have another potentially oft injured player like Polanco (3 IL stints already this year) on the roster.
  7. Last nights game may be a little misleading. My assumption is that the opponent pitched their worst pitchers the last half of the game, after the game got out of control. Williams got 3 home runs in the first 4 innings. Celestino was 0 for 3 during those innings. All three hits came after that. Still good that he is hitting. I'm just thinking these guys were guys that aren't as good.
  8. Runs galore from our teams last night and Rosario is really having a great season at Cedar Rapids.
  9. Twins hitters are hot the last 4 games. Bux, take your time to heal so you can play CF as our DH's are producing.
  10. Far better. He plays SS because that's where you get the most fielding attempts. Martin can play play 2B, LF and CF. When Martin is healthy, if he starts playing CF a lot, that will tell us a lot about Buxton. Buxton staying at DH can really help Martin's career.
  11. Yes, kind of amazing with some of the hitting #'s from guys like Urbina, Salas and even Miller.
  12. Wow, breaking news, Enlow going to St. Paul. I saw his stats today and was just going to type that it is time for him to move up. The Saints have more and more players that are fun to watch. Poor Wichita, a 23-33 record. Enlow is gone and how long before Severino, Lee and Kiersey move up..................... I don't think the replacements will be near as talented as them and the bottom half of that Wind Surge lineup is not doing well (might be a rough 2nd half for the Wind Surge fans in attendance). Sabato, the time is now for you to hit for this team!
  13. The discussion was about Wichita and St. Paul and I think our prospects are hitting quite well - Wallner batting .300 with a .955 OPS, Julien .293 and .931 and Severino hitting .276 with a .888 OPS as a few examples. The biggest reason the Saints are winning is because they have tremendous hitting. led by some of our top prospects. Look at June or the past month and their numbers are even better. If you are talking about high A ball, Seth has mentioned that we have one of the youngest high A ball teams in baseball. Some are doing better than others. Emma Rodriguez below the Mendoza line but does have 7 homers while missing half the season.
  14. 2 HR's, 24 rbi's, .712 OPS compared to Farmer's 3 HR's, 14 rbi's, .668 OPS. Farmer has much more position flexibility (and missed time getting hit in the face). I'll take Farmer.
  15. Tough day for a bunch of hitters who have been hot this week other than Wichita. Keirsey probably deserves to be a July call up (2nd full year at Wichita) to St. Paul but with Gallo and Buxton coming back for the Twins and Celestino rehabbing, that is going to be a full OF, not to mention Contreras out there.
  16. He was free to sign with anyone this winter. I'm glad the Twins got him back. If Camargo keeps this up, I say he's on the 40 man roster this winter.
  17. Yes! Raya went 4 innings and broke his 3 inning ceiling. Good innings as well but not as good as MacLeod. Certainly nice to see that. Our hot hitters are having a great week - Wallner, Miranda, Camargo, Keirsey, Lee, Severino and De Andrade. (some with only one hit today but it continues their hitting streak). Tough week to pick who is the best.
  18. I believe the catcher never gave him a path to home before he received the ball so he would have been safe anyway.
  19. The hot hitters in St. Paul and Wichita all stayed hot - Wallner, Miranda, Julien and Camargo in St. Paul and Kiersey, Lee and Severino in Wichita. For Camargo, I was surprised we got him back this past winter after he was a free agent. Not sure we will have the same luck if we do the same this winter (or if we bring him up to the Twins to cover an injury and then try to DFA him). Grace and Lewis moving up a level and still pitching great. Good to see.
  20. Polanco may be going on the IL for the third time (or so it sounded from the radio announcers today), so 2nd base. Otherwise, DH with Buxton on the IL. And I'm an advocate for getting Buxton healthy and playing CF, leaving DH open for a bat like Julien.
  21. Wallner and Julien for now. Later I think Miranda will be ready. He's got 5 multi-hit games in his last 8. Just needs to add that home run power back now. We aren't replacing everyone right away anyway. Wallner and Julien are NOT going to reduce our SO's. I'm just thinking they will do better everywhere else. Can hardly do worse than the current Twins hitting.
  22. Also, let players on the IL completely heal before bringing them back, especially with the more than adequate hitters we have in St. Paul. Again, let Kepler heal until Wallner's hot streak ended for a couple games would have been a good idea.
  23. 5 multi-hit games out of the last 8 for Miranda so this is more than a 2 day streak.
  24. The Saints are a fun team, as most people thought they would be this year. Seems like all the hitters are hot right now, especially Wallner, Miranda, Julien and Camargo.
