  1. Hopefully Sonny is okay, pitched a gem yesterday and was hoping he could have went another inning at least to rest the bullpen.
  2. Hopefully Royce will bounce back and not have any hesitancy about playing center and chasing balls near the wall. I've seen guys do things like that and never be aggressive going near the wall again.
  3. Should have been a 3-1 series victory, but I'll take a split over a series loss
  4. I think you are absolutely right. They overachieved and got lucky with an easy schedule and now we may be seeing who the real Twins are, which could very well be the team we saw last season.
  5. One bright spot is with his 3 hits, Arraez has brought his average to .359 and his OBP to .455. It will be fun to see him chase a batting title for the rest of the season.
  6. Sanchez has been solid, and with the issues the Yankees are having with Donaldson and now with him being out and Rortvedts injury it seems more and more the Twins are gonna end up winning that trade.
  7. Working counts, do you mean last night when they swung at the first pitch 5 consecutive at bats after a 5 pitch walk? That sure was a great example. The Twins 6 batters saw a total of 10 pitches. Great job of running up the pitch count wasn't it? Analytics is neutral, but it's what a team does with the data that determines success or failure. And the overemphasis on letting the "computer" determine what happens is gonna lead to failure if they don't adapt to be more situational rather than "by the book". Rocco has made some pretty horrible management decisions based on the data and last night was a golden example of that.
  8. The Twins are in first place because they've had a stretch of great starting pitching, timely hitting, a few lucky bounces, and the White Sox have been trash. I'm not sure what analytics has to do with any of those things. I would guess probably at least half of their losses can be blamed on analytics and Rocco's inability to use his brain but I'm not sure any rational person could give credit to analytics for their success. They're winning in spite of analytics, not because of it.
  9. Head scratching pulling 3 hitters who had a hit (including the 2 who drove in their 2 runs) and replacing them with 3 guys who ended up with nothing, He has no baseball instincts. I think most of us who have played MLB the Show could manage a team better then him.
  10. A manager with a brain will look at those stats and agree with your assessment which is accurate.
  11. Especially after you smoked a ball for an RBI earlier in the game. Reminds me of last season when the team pretty much quit mid-season.
  12. Pinch hitting for 3 guys who had a hit and both rbis is a head scratcher. When they had Gordon pinch hitting for Jeffers, Jeffers looked completely disgusted.
  13. Thanks for crunching the numbers!
  14. Apparently they do since it's in the box score. But I agree, someone needs a hit with runners on.
  15. They do and have for quite awhile. See the column on the right side which is the individual LOB, there is team LOB which is below.
  16. If MLB keeps stats of teams with bases loaded and less than 2 outs but get 0 runs the Twins have to be tops in that category. It's crazy how 2 consecutive games they were in that spot with the game on the line and couldn't get a single run.
  17. They'll wait until their season has fallen apart and then make some moves too late. Now would be the time to make some calls and try to get a deal done, before their schedule gets much more difficult at the end of next week.
  18. He needs to stay up, either as a starter or long reliever who can spot start as needed.
  19. If the Twins gave up selling their collective soul to analytics and actually used their brains they would win far more games. Even the game Sunday they came back and won was in spite of analytics, not because of it.
