  1. MLB calculates the number of runners each batter left on base, which some batters strand the same runners so the total is 30. See graphic.
  2. The only saving grace is how bad the rest of the central has been, but the last 2 games should have been W's if they had a manager who was able to manage a bullpen competently.
  3. Another thing I don't understand is why Rocco pinch hit for 3 guys who had hits in the game and both rbis. That was a horrible decision. Also, if you've faced the 3 batter minimum and have allowed more base runners than you've gotten outs, you should be pulled. It isn't rocket science. Rocco Baldoofus strikes again.
  4. As a Negro League historian who goes to the NLBM several times a year for research I have a high respect for the negro leagues and it's players but it was definitely not the same level of organization or caliber of play as the Major Leagues. And just because MLB and baseball reference made a declaration and decided to include stats (which are incomplete) doesn't re-write history or change the facts. You do realize Joe Mauer played the end of his career at first base? His career average as a catcher is .328 I believe.
  5. Can you tell me which team in Major League Baseball Josh Gibson played for? Maybe you should share that new info with MLB that since he died before Jackie Robinson played for the Dodgers. I think Mauer had 5 SS and won an MVP and played during the days of Jorge Posada and Ivan Rodriguez who were both good hitting catchers, Piazza really didn't have any other competition in the NL the way Mauer did. Piazza was a far better run producer, I agree and hit for more power. That wasn't Mauer's game. Mauer's ability to hit for high average had never been seen before in the history of baseball from the catcher position.
  6. How many MLB at bats did Gibson have? How many batting titles did Piazza win?
  7. People who don't believe Mauer should be in the hall never watched him play. I have his swing up there with Griffey and Ted Williams as the most beautiful I've ever seen.
  8. Winnable game but only one loss. Still have a 5 game lead in the division at the moment and still tied for the 3rd best record in the AL. They won the series, now need to take care of business against KC then again in Detroit next week before the tougher schedule comes their way.
  9. Joe Mauer was the best hitting catcher in the history of the game. Deserves to be in the HoF.
  10. The funny thing is even a guy like Aaron Judge were critical of Donaldson, and that's his teammate. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/yankees-aaron-judge-criticizes-josh-donaldsons-jackie-comment-i-dont-think-its-the-right-thing-to-do/ar-AAXFybL I actually do my job and don't invite drama and controversy at work, so there wouldn't be anything negative someone could say about me.
  11. Haha my pleasure. They've also won the last 5 games I've been to in person dating back to 2019 ?
  12. If Jake Cave is in AAA it means the Twins are winning, so I'll pass on being on his show ?
  13. Well, there is a reason I have a pair of his game used cleats signed on display in my basement in my house along with a signed ball. My signed jersey is currently getting framed as we speak.
  14. I guess you and Donaldson must be best friends? He was never a good fit in Minnesota and it showed during his 2 year tenure and it shows even more in his absence.
  15. Well, I've had nothing but positive interactions with him first hand as a fan, and some athletes can be kind of douchey because they're athletes and he is the always the opposite of that. The fans love him, his teammates love him, he's also done a lot to help out people back in his hometown in Venezuela and he is a great dad and a great husband. You don't have to know a person intimately to know he is a great guy who loves the game of baseball and likes to have fun.
  16. Knowing Arraez and the kind of person he is, nothing would warrant being berated or yelled at, especially by someone like Donaldson. Donaldson is the same guy who got ejected from a game after kicking dirt on the plate following a homerun so I can't take him too seriously when it comes to sportsmanship and trying to be a clubhouse leader.
  17. Aside from stats "Double Play Donaldson" is a diva and a locker room cancer, getting rid of him for anything was a win. Team has much better chemistry without him.
  18. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Buxton may be the teams best player, but by seasons' end Arraez may be the most valuable.
  19. He's putting together a career season like Garver had in 2019.
  20. I think giving Royce opportunities to play other positions at the AAA level to see how he does is a great idea, to see how he will fit on the big club going forward.
  21. I think the one of the main issues with moving Gio to another spot is he has been playing gold glove level defense at 3rd.
  22. The 6th and 8th innings are an example of what I'm talking about, Twins led 2-1 and Arraez walked then came around to score to make it 3-1. Twins add another to make it 4-1. The Royals scored in the bottom of the 7th to make it 4-2, in the 8th Arraez again walked, moved to second on a single, to third on a fielders choice then scored on a wild pitch to make it 5-2 and the game was over then, top of the 9th comes and Twins score 4 more to blow it open. It was a thing of beauty.
  23. Buxton may be the best player on the Twins, but by the end of the season Arraez may be the most valuable. The game Saturday night Arraez completely took over, getting on base via hits and walks, driving in runs and scoring runs. He was a wrecking ball. It seemed like every time the Royals had momentum Arraez would come up the next half inning and do something to swing it back to the Twins. When he scored on that wild pitch in the 8th to make it 5-2 the Royals and their fans knew the game was over.
