  1. There is no doubt that he has a hitch in his giddy up. I was at Saturdays game and after running to first base on a foul ball he slowly walked back to home plate. Very slowly. The umpire immediatly had a conversation with him and the next hitter had a conversation with the umpire also. His leg still is hurt. Until the leg is 100% he will continue to hit 320 foot fly balls instead of line drive doubles and homers. His glove needs to work better and I have no idea if he is willing to put in the time and effort to improve to the poiint of being a plus fielder. Average would be nice at this point. I vote keep him but give him some days off or IL him and lets see Martin for the rest of this year. He has no value in a trade.
  2. Lets not forget that Berrios was not going to resign with the Twins. Lopez also cost the Twins batting champion Luis Arraez in the trade. A hitter sorely missing this year. Trading Ryan with 2 and 1/2 years of control would be waving the white flag for this and next year. The old saying was "do you trade an everyday player for a starting pitcher?" In todays game I think you need to get 2 everyday players for a starter of Ryans capability.
  3. Gage Wood, right handed pitcher expected to be available at 16. History of shoulder problems. Plenty of talent but please pass unless he is at 36.
  4. sure, you can power wash anything. It might not like it but everything needs to be stress tested.
  5. I'm aware. That's why I whine about the bullpen having to cover 4 innings too often. It's not sustainable all season long.
  6. Provich mentioned the relief pitchers all want to get in some work before the off days this week.
  7. I'll see your Angel Hernandez and raise you a C.B. Buckner.
  8. Right now the Twins have the desired formula for victory, a 6 inning game. Then Louie, Jax and Duran to hold the lead. They just need the lead after 6....... If they're going to compete for a playoff spot they need to keep the formula. But........if they get a young possible front line starter I'd say they have to do the trade. Nothing less.
  9. Yesterday's game could not have been scripted any better by Rocco. Other than Lewis missing a couple of ground balls it was near perfect, including the weather. But yesterday is gone and it would be hopeful if the Twins were 50/50 going into the break. Hopefully SIM can keep spinning swings and misses and soft hit balls into another victory. I keep forgetting that SIM's velocity is considered sub-par for todays game but is faster than Viola or Morris in their heyday. I hope we win today.
  10. Buxton is a game changer. Rocco likes Wallner. He’s not going anywhere.
  11. Not gonna happen. When Waller hits one they leave in a hurry.
  12. Shut out no longer in play but not the fault of Adam’s.
  13. Lewis is reluctant to field the grounders.
  14. FYI: city connect jerseys are half off in the stadium twins store today.
  15. Lewis is way less than 100% physically. Definitely has a hitch in his giddy up.
  16. Buxton is a game changer. Most exciting play in baseball is a Buxton triple.
  17. I always enjoy 3 in the booth better than 2. I think Provus announcing with 2 analysts is perfect. With 2 analysts Provus can tone down the home enthusiasm and just call the game. A former pitcher and former hitter is the sweet spot for me. Audra is fine but I miss Marney.
  18. The hardest position to fill is a front line starter. Joe Ryan is that. I probably over value Twins players but the return suggested for Ryan does not seem like enough. I think the player value right now is the return the Twins would get next year at this time with one less year of control. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not blown away with the player value return at this time.
