Thanks for the laughs everybody. Cheifs corny jokes reminded me not to take healthy days for granted as dementia is looming around the corner. This has been as disappointing a season as I can remember. The trade sell off was a bit much too much to believe but we will find out if it bears fruit or not. Here's to a better season of Twins baseball next year. By better I mean better fundamentals, hustle and defense. edit; hitting also

Hats off to them, they earned it.

Peter, I for one have misssed your positivity. The Twins need too many things to go right to contend next year but I'd be happy with crisp, well played games from now on. (I asked for this in jUly also.........)

Can I substitute the Hamms Bear instead of TC? If so I like the bear with a 24 pack of ice cold beverages.

Hope is all he has to has to sell right now. The Twins are a bottom 5 team right now. Every team has a Cullpepper, a Jenkins and many hopefuls in the minors 'just waiting in the wings'. But only the Twins have a Gasper and Davis battery on the roster.

Perhaps the Twins should be not quite so agressive on the base paths. 2 innings, 2 bone head outs.

I don't understand Buck leading off. He likes to swing at the first pitch too much. I'd rather have a pitch taker in the lead off spot.

Buck can't start a game better than that, two days in a row!!! David, glad you and the dog are ok.

    Wasn't that Fitzgerald? jk
  10. ziggy
He will need some non help from his hitters for that to happen.

Does Royce always greet the umpire before his first at bat? I've just noticed it the last 3 or 4 games that he does that bit of brown nosing.

    patience Grasshopper, patience.

Buck Truck with the perfect start to the game.

Great, new idea for Rocco to play with.

Rick Aguillera pinch hit against the Braves in 1991.

Lost a classmate last week to ALS. She was 66 years old and a very nice person.

But it's tomorrow in Hong Kong and DaveHK is here so.......

Did they hold a press conference or do anything public to confirm the resigning?

They traded all but 3 players OTHER teams would want on their roster. The rest are DFA candidates. Not exactly a scary roster. The buck stops at the owners desk. Falvey made bold moves when he had the ok from the owners. The right sizing of the budget has left him hamstrung. Now they cut the scouting department. JFC, there is more to baseball and the players than a stat sheet. I followed the Twins 'right sizing' of my budget and only attend ONE game this year.

barely seemed to care sums up the look of the 2025 Twins. Remember in April/May it "was too early" to be concerned with their play and record. Is it still too early?
  22. ziggy
I don't think baseball works that way.
  23. ziggy
8 runs might win it tonight for the Twins.

Falvey thought he had this team ready to win for 2024.2025,2026 an 2027. The fact that he blew it up 2 and 1/2 years early tells us all we need to know about their ability to compete in he near future. The AAA retreads that occupy the new look bullpen tell us all we need to know about the readiness of pitchers in St Paul and Wichita. It wasn't injuries that doomed them this year, it was philosophy.

I never saw Aaron, Mays or Mantle until they were well past their prime. Jim Kaat said on a broadcast that Aaron was the best he ever saw. I'm thinking Bo Jackson or Ken Griffey jr would be hard to top. My favorite is Kirby Puckett as I have the same body type but he was a successful athlete and I am on the key board.....
