    A veteran team of Allstar to superstar players playing the game like they have this year tells me all I need to know about their management/coaching. These guys(players) don't take it seriously, and that starts from their manager telling them they don't have to. It not bad luck, its terrible leadership, from the staff and players alike.

    Yeah, I don't want to hear the word "luck" used with this team again this year. The team, while filled with talented individuals, is really, really, terrible at playing mlb quality baseball. At least I'll save $85/month canceling att tv after this month!

    itt: people unwilling to accept that we are quickly approaching if not at firesale mode im curious what actual packages people come up with; often times ideas on here play out somewhat closely. If we traded not just buxton, but buxton+, and/or berrios+, it would blow, but the returns would be enormous. I haven't followed the minors for awhile, but I know some of you guys more tuned in are scheming up packages. what have you got? note: I live in st Paul and am most excited about saints games this year, so for once prospects excite me more than the team edit to add: I am thinking there must be teams that have guys in the high a-aa range that are possibly moving to triple a this year. or guys that are knocking on the door already and buxton would replace them

    I like Rogers and know he is a quality pitcher who has been dominant in the past, but I am so sick of hearing about how unlucky he's been for the third straight year. He's the luckiest "unlucky" pitcher ive ever seen(probably not true, this is somehow probably Jesse Crain)

    All are ok, Im not totally sure Rogers is good anymore, at least when it matters. Im not totally sure Robles is good and not just starting well. Tbh I haven't been able to watch much this year so to hear that Duffey is who others mention first is concerning. Alcala looks good all around, hope that continues as he pitches more than 30 innings.

    I know the greater topic at hand is the twins lack of hitting, especially w/ risp, but I wish I could've watched just to see this. I feel like these are just the types of innings we watch the twins drop, in the playoffs or in slumps like this, where run probability is ridiculous and we get nothing. just think it would be awesome to watch from the other side for once lol

    Right. I know not everyone that posts and follows the team lives in the twin cities, but I would say the general vibe around st Paul where I live is people just don't want this to blow up like it did last spring/summer.

    alot of places closed early due to the uncertainty of the situation and fact that there is a 7pm curfew and national guard already deployed. maybe all those places really decided to close to gain political points, but I doubt it.

    Well, they weren't built for extra innings games in national league parks. Thats about all I'll read into it. Though the leg injury concerns me.

    Without reading through everything again, what options have we come up with for Twin Cities residents with no cable? Sounds like FSN is not a channel you get with Hulu, YouTube tv, etc. I'm not signing up for a contract or probably even paying more than those services cost, since it would only be for baseball(and NHL playoffs when they start) Am I back to just following the team in the boxscores and reading about what happens on this site? Thats pretty much what I did for years when living somewhat off the grid out of state. Bummer that that's what following baseball is to me now.

    It's not any persons fault I don't believe. It's bureaucracy's fault, if you need to blame something.

    The problem is its not as simple as just booking a flight and showing up. He literally can't leave his country until his government approves his visa and lets him go. And as others have mentioned, that is something that is almost entirely handled by his employer(the twins) and his government. Something I did not at all realize until I started moving around and met a number of friends from different countries...its really f-ing hard for people to travel in most of the world. We are crazy fortunate that(until covid at least), our passports can get us in almost anywhere and in a lot of cases make it easier to get a work visa. I have a number of friends from Argentina and some of the balkan states, and they were able to get visas that allowed them to work for a certain period of time in the us. When I asked why their family doesn't visit, they explained that basically, those countries don't want their citizens leaving, and traveling to the United States is something they consider to be very risky. So, maybe cut the guys from out of country a little slack. They really don't have any control over it. If they got the visa and just didn't show on time, that would be considerably worse for them, as most likely they would have those visa privileges permanently revoked. I agree with someone earlier in the thread who said that to us, it seems like ball players should be able to expedite the process and not deal with the issues us regular people do. But that isn't the case.

    You do realize people can't just come to the us and work whenever they feel like it(legally), just as you or I couldn't just hop on a flight and start working in curacao if some baseball team signed us to play ss for them tomorrow.

    I can't remember didn't Dozier win like 2 or 3 team mvp awards? that would qualify him imo. cause I agree numbers alone aren't enough.

    Granted, I'm biased because the steroid issue isn't that important to me. But what point is he trying to make by pointing out the Twins players that have been suspended for PED's? I mean, yes they were suspended, and served the suspensions and dealt with the repercussions that are written in the rules. Is this another unwritten rule, that any player ever suspended for PED's be blacklisted?
