  1. I was at the Saints game tonight, and was pleased by the offense's display of power. I hope to see Martin and Severino in the lineup at some point next year. Brock Stewart was throwing gas, but was having trouble throwing strikes, which isn't a shock. Alcala also looked electric but I doubt he makes it back to the roster this year. There was also a situation mid-game where between innings there was an injury to one of the guys in the sumo-wrestler outfits and he was unconscious for a few minutes, but ultimately left the stadium on a cart. I hope he's alright.
  2. Correa should be ready for the playoffs, but will get some time to rest before that.
  3. Despite this, they've only lost one score games and the same thing happened last year with a much worse DC and we still consistently won games. Trust me, they're going to rip off a bunch of ugly one score games and it's gonna frustrate us (or mainly you lol). Then again, if Kirk does get hurt then we are winning 4 or 5 games this year. I didn't quite think about that scenario through.
  4. Incredible how they only lost by one score. 4 turnovers with zero run game, zero run defense and they still only lost by 6. The offense is broken since there is no run game, Kirk isn't going to make it through the full year taking this many hits. The defense doesn't have the personnel, I think Flores is doing a decent job but they simply don't have the front seven to get it done... comes from years of neglecting DTs/DEs/OLBs/ILBs. I still feel confident about my 8-9 projection, they're still going to win a bunch of one score games like last year. This isn't a bad enough team to win only 5 or 6 games.
  5. Should have watched this rather than the Vikings game. Uffda.
  6. Jax on pace for loss #10 on the year... I can't remember the last time a Twins reliever lost 10+ games.
  7. Incredible how consistently Lewis rises to the call when he is needed. Can’t say enough good things about him.
  8. Put me down for 9-8, 2nd place in the division behind the Lions.
  9. This game is going to be the answer to some very odd Twins trivia questions in the future... Nice to see the offense erupt. Better to get hot at the end of the year after being ice cold the first half of the season rather than vice versa.
  10. Now we have a hitter pitching... this has to be one of the wackiest games ever.
  11. Never thought I'd see a hitter pitch in the 6th inning... still got 9 more outs to get!!
  12. Just checking in... man, Lewis is a beast.
  13. That's not good... from my knowledge of NFL injuries, a ruptured patella tendon is about the worst leg injury you can suffer outside of a dislocated knee. You don't screw around with those types of injuries, so I wouldn't be shocked if Buxton's season is ended due to this. Ugh. Congrats to Stevenson, he deserves it. It's too bad he's not eligible for the playoffs, he'd make for a nice pinch runner / defensive replacement in case Castro couldn't play.
  14. I'm surprised Cleveland made all those moves... good for them. We should still win the division handily.
  15. My leash would be short, but clearly they are making it a long one because there hasn't been a shred of competition brought in to push him. It's going to take an injury to get him out of the lineup. Hard to say if Brandel can handle guard, but at this point I wouldn't expect him to be anything more than a decent backup.
  16. Here's an updated version of our rosters (ratings are from PFF):
  17. Probable moves that are coming - Nwangwu to IR, at least 4 weeks. Reed is eligible to come off the NFI in 4 weeks and his salary is 100% guaranteed, so he will be on the roster when that happens. A veteran CB signing is a must, the room is as barren as can be as Booth Jr has been horrible in training camp / preseason and Thompson is here for ST. Not to mention all 3 starting CBs have injury histories. I expect a RB to be added in Nwangwu's place, probably someone like Zonovan Knight or Demetric Felton. I really liked the McBride pick but he doesn't appear to have the juice he did in college. He is coming off a hamstring issue that held him from practicing for a good 4-6 months, so he might be rusty. Or just not athletic, as we didn't get his measurements. He was a 7th rounder, which is a fine pick to blow on a risky type of player like him. They did also axe 2022 5th rounder Esezi Otomewo, who was a raw player that I thought was borderline draftable, I'm a bit more upset with that. But then again, all teams whiff on Day 3 picks at a high rate. What's costing us is the Day 1 and 2 picks from 2022... I suppose Kwesi would look a lot smarter if he had taken Pace with that 7th rounder and landed McBride as a UDFA... They did it because they wanted to protect Muse, but I'm unsure if the plan is to carry 4 for the whole year. Only 2 are going to get any kind of playing time.
  18. The Royals are calling up Steven Cruz, of whom they got in the Michael Taylor trade. He had some good numbers in AA, but has struggled at AAA so far.
  19. Holy cow, what a game so far… maybe it was the right move to not fire our hitting coach?
  20. Waiting for the accompanying move...
  21. This game is still going?! I haven't checked for an hour and a half! Kudos to the bullpen for giving up just 1 run over 9 innings.
  22. Disengagement violation FTW!
  23. Luplow down to .204 BA / .622 OPS...
