  1. And it took 3 pitches for Busenitz to make this game worse...
  2. Alright Booze-nitz, let's prove your roster spot and see if you can stick around for the long run.
  3. Looks like Odorizzi has run out of gas. I'm not liking our chances with the way the offense has played thus far.
  4. Darn. Turns out our offense will actually have to do something. Oh wait...
  5. Boy, I sure hope we don't get rained out. That'll be 5 days without any games...
  6. I wonder what his odds will be with the voters. Mauer seems like a guy who would take a few years to build the votes up and won't be getting in on the first ballot. I would like to know what the national baseball pundits think of his odds.
  7. I had applied to an IT position at Delaware North a few months back, and I recently heard I didn't get the job. I'm a bit bummed I won't get to work at Target Field. Maybe we can get some other Twins Daily folks working there, though.
  8. Dude, next time you come back from time travelling, use spoiler tags.
  9. Don't worry, Phil Hughes will likely be coming up and taking one of those roster spots. Then it'll be a 24 man roster with a bad 5th starter!
  10. I don't think Falvey/Levine anticipated that Santana would need surgery in February after his post-season MRI came back clean. Santana started pitching again in February and felt discomfort, leading to the surgery. I suppose it's possible the front office knew something about Ervin's finger I that everyone else didn't, but I doubt it.
  11. Look, I have always been an advocate for Trevor May, but calling him a better pitcher than Ervin Santana? We barely have enough tape on the guy in the majors as a starter to even think that he's better than Ervin. Now after having back problems and then missing a full year to Tommy John surgery, he'll suddenly become a better pitcher than Santana? I highly doubt that. And saying that Santana was going to be irrelevant for the 2018 Twins is simply inaccurate. He was going to be the Opening Day pitcher until the injury happened. The rotation would have been Santana-Odorizzi-Berrios-Lynn-Gibson... I bet if you asked Molitor who his ace starter was, he'd tell you it is Ervin. Even if he's the de facto ace, that makes him at the very least relevant. I was open to trading him, but the price had to be right. I expect regression for him, but apparently not as much as you do... I can just imagine it now, seeing Twins Daily blow up after the front office trades Santana for a B-level prospect and whiffing on Darvish.
  12. From what has been reported, May is currently ramping up and I think he is on track to return in June. I think they want him back as a starting pitcher (Falvey/Levine had a quote about that in Spring Training) but we'll see about that. Pineda is expected to possibly be able to throw in the bullpen in September. I don't think there will be time for him to throw enough innings to be a starter in 2018.
  13. Time for Rosario to atone for his new list of dumb mistakes!
  14. And just like that, Castro's batting average is now .158.
  15. Don't worry, guys, it could be worse:
  16. Isn't that the demographic? Seriously though, I have no desire to gamble and seeing those commercials somehow makes me want to do it even less.
  17. Is it that time of the year when the Twins Daily has been hit with spam bots? Either that, or the "Recent Blog" section of Twins Daily has had a very confused person posting about password recovery and Canon printers.
  18. Yep, they need to force Verlander out now. Gotta at least tie it up and start using up their bullpen.
  19. And it's not just this season. He had a whole litany of boneheaded mistakes last year too, including overthrowing the cutoff man about a billion times. Well, that's a bit of exaggeration but I think you get the point.
  20. I like Hildy but I saw that one coming. But wait, there's more! Another bad play from Rosario!
  21. I think the Twins need to either offer the Marlins a minor leaguer to trade for Kinley's rights or let him go. Kinley has some intriguing stuff but he needs more time in the high minors (AA or AAA, either is fine) and the Twins shouldn't be messing around with the 7th bullpen slot. With Hildy and Duke being erratic, we could use Busenitz or Moya in that spot over Kinley, of whom Molitor isn't going to trust. We saw how this played out with Haley last year and it's going to be a repeat of that situation if they try to keep him on the roster for the whole season.
  22. It stinks that Lynn's already at 90 pitches, but he's held the MLB's best offense to 4 scoreless innings. He can't do anything about the offense's futility against Verlander.
