  1. Good stuff from the hitters! I guess all they needed was some bad pitching.
  2. If you're going to see Avengers Infinity War soon (it came out yesterday), then you're gonna want to see Black Panther first.
  3. I think another reason for the pitching futility has been the regression of the defense. Dozier's arm and range are limited, Sano can be a disaster sometimes, and Escobar doesn't have the range at short. Awful throws from outfielders have factored in, too. I ain't excusing Rodney for his incompetence, though. They should get him to pitch some low leverage innings before they think about having him try to save a game.
  4. Though Grossman would be starting at DH without Morrison, and his hitting has been just as putrid as Morrison's.
  5. I expect Garver's bat to come around soon. His defense? Not sure about that. Suzuki has been bad defensively, but wow, I didn't think he'd hit like that in Atlanta.
  6. Thank goodness. I'm thinking we'll see Slegers or Curtiss, but unfortunately this isn't going to fix much.
  7. Look, I really want some roster shake-up too, but Slegers is a AAAA talent who barely projects to be a #5 pitcher in the rotation. If Lynn is going anywhere, it's to the DL with a mysterious injury. For as bad as he's looked, I wouldn't put him behind Hughes yet... Phil has at least two seasons of poor pitching to his name, Lynn has 4 starts.
  8. Well, I'll check back on the Rooker situation in a few months and see how he's doing. I just find it hard to believe that 80 PAs is all it takes for a hitter to become the next ABW. I was mainly referring to Trout's subpar 135 PAs in his rookie year, though now looking at the game log, it seemed it was the tail end of those 135 PAs where he didn't hit as well and not as much the first 80, so perhaps that wasn't the best comparison.
  9. Gonsalves and Gordon should be getting promotions to AAA very soon... I don't know what the holdup is. These guys should/might be contributing to the big league club sooner than later.
  10. All it takes is 80 plate appearances to become a non-prospect? Well then, the Angels should have give up on Mike Trout when his first 80 PAs looked bad. Rooker's path to the majors has been accelerated and he's struggling upon reaching the upper minors. I'm not surprised that he's striking out a lot - he's got plenty of time to adjust and learn how to hit AA pitchers. I have little to no concerns for him in the long run.
  11. Good stuff, Andrew. It's interesting to see Kinley's at the point where his velocity could potentially start declining. It's just another reason to end the experiment.
  12. If an infielder gets hurt, Adrianza becomes a starter (unless it's 1B) and Petit probably gets added to the 40 man roster. If a catcher gets hurt, they'll choose between Bobby Wilson and Williams Astudillo. Polanco will be back in two months. Most teams don't have much depth at catcher. These depth issues are the least of the Twins' problems right now.
  13. Wow, Cobb giving up 15 runs in 2 starts is pretty bad... but yeah, the pitchforks would be out if they signed Darvish, even though he's only 4 starts in.
  14. It would be nice if one of the young relievers could come up and pitch well, but we're just not getting that. Hildy's struggling after he did that last year and Moya & Busenitz both had opportunities to show they belonged and couldn't do it.
  15. Losing a game like this stinks but it's going to happen... but when it comes after getting swept by a bottom dweller like the Rays (pun!), this team is starting to look like their 2016 counterparts.
  16. Perfect, Kinley's chances of staying on the roster are basically gone and we get to see LaMarre pitch. That's a win-win!
  17. I'm afraid they're going to do that with Kinley and try to keep him on the team that way.
  18. Dang it Huddy, you ninja'd me. I was going to say that...
  19. Holy crap, are you kidding me?! I called it!!! It ended in the exact same way, a grand slam!!!! BTW JR Graham gave a grand slam to A-Rod a few years back. The EXACT same situation, except the Twins were up by 3 runs in the past situation.
  20. The last time a Twins rule 5 rookie reliever had the bases loaded against the Yankees it didn't end well...
  21. Should I feel bad for wanting Kinley to give up a whole bunch of runs here?
  22. There we go, Morrison. Now time for Escobar to get a RISP hit.
  23. Wait, I thought we were done with the cold weather excuses? The pitchers and batters showed up and we beat them. Later we were swept by the Rays. Are we better than the Astros and worse than the Rays? No, but stuff like that happens frequently in sports. You're never going to win all of the easy games and lose all of the hard ones.
