  1. I'm starting to get on board the "time to find a long term 3B" bus. Sano may have a cannon for an arm, but he's a subpar defender (so say the metrics) and he can't stay healthy. Maybe they teach him to be 1B, but until then he might be destined for DH'ing. I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins traded him over the 2018-2019 offseason. Yes, I know I'm projecting very far out here, and his trade value is low at the moment, but I feel like this FO is going to move him at some point. Also, I'd like to see Nick Gordon get up here. We're down two starting infielders, and this offense can't afford to have both Adrianza and Petit in the lineups. Also, I knew that Enns was not a MLB caliber starter, but I would have liked to see him in the bullpen and see if he gained any juice throwing in the 'pen. It seems like our best relievers are usually failed starters, so I would have rather liked to see Magill DFA'd.
  2. I see we've returned to the 2016 defense.
  3. I don't think another inning for Pressly is a good idea... and then Rosario happens.
  4. I don't like that our options at catcher either are 1) above average defense who will be a black hole in the lineup or 2) competent hitter but poor defense.
  5. At least Garver is getting it done at the plate. His bat is miles past Castro at this point.
  6. It looks like it's time for Lynn to take a nice, long trip to the DL.
  7. Because he ran out of gas last year and after a few good starts, he fell apart. Unless you could see the future where Colon came roaring out of the gate and Lynn was abysmal, then there wasn't any reason to.
  8. Now Lynn has forgotten how to throw a strike.
  9. I was checking up on the Jays roster and how they were doing this season... their lineup and starters' stats are a bit underwhelming, but their bullpen... whoa, nelly. I know it's a crime in some states to equate ERA to talent level, but of their 7 relievers, the highest ERA was 3.48. If they make it to their bullpen with a lead, it's probably game over.
  10. The Pohlads were willing to fire Gardy with a year left on his deal, but yes, Molitor is going to get all of 2018 and most likely all of 2019 to keep his job.
  11. I know Escobar doesn't have the range to play SS, but he's hitting .308 with .920 OPS, so we need his bat in the lineup every day until he isn't hitting that well and our DH/OFs start picking up the slack. Plus while Polanco has much better range, Escobar at least has the arm to consistently make the throws unlike Jorge.
  12. At this point, we're searching for answers for every single pitcher not named Gibson, Berrios, Reed, and Pressly.
  13. Didn't expect Eddie to hit a 0-2 home run off a pretty good closer, but I'll take it.
  14. I'm trying to think of a witty comment, but I got nothing. This feels like the losing streak to start the 2016 season. We're reaching the point of no return here.
  15. This game is so awful MLB gameday isn't working anymore. Maybe it's a sign I should do something else with my time.
  16. Look, I'm not a Paul Molitor fan, but what can you do as a manager when virtually every single one of your relievers have morphed into pumpkins? If the Twins keep playing like this, the Indians are going to win the Central with about a 35 game lead.
  17. And that's why DFA'ing Kinley and getting somebody else was a good idea. Nice job by Hale.
  18. I can't even blame Pressly for that triple. Hamilton golfed that pitch and was lucky it went fair.
  19. Duffey was mediocre last year, but my goodness, he's making Hughes look good now.
  20. The Reds are looking the part of a 100+ loss team.
  21. Hughes tried the mop-up role last year too and was just as bad. I'd just DFA him and get it over with. Duffey or somebody else can pitch those innings.
  22. I am not surprised at all that Hughes looks awful. He's been a shell of himself the past two seasons, why would he suddenly be good this year? It's nearly time to eat the contract and move on.
  23. THIS is the Morrison I thought we signed.
