  1. Pen would look better with a Poof trade.
  2. I think this is TR's plan, and I'm dead set against it.
  3. I'd offer arbitration to all six. The total money isn't that great, and I have a handful of cards to work with. IMO Poof was overpaid last year, not in anyone else's though, so he should be easy to trade. I'm on the fence with Fien. Did the injuries really hurt him that much last year or is he falling off? It's hard to say. Poof should bring back a decent bp arm so maybe I wait and see with Fien, or perhaps package him in a trade. I like Nunez, he's an asset so I keep him for sure. It will be interesting in the next few weeks to see what's shaking.
  4. Thanks, that's got to be really satisfying. Hope to see you in Ft Myers this spring if I can make it again.
  5. Madre Dos, it's got to be a lot of work for you to take these players in, but also a lot of fun. And a thrill when one does make the big leagues. Have you always been a baseball fan, and how did you get started taking in the players. That had to be a big decision.
  6. If he's not tendered, I be all for it if the price was right. We certainly have a lack of outfielders right now. And I still don't see Sano playing outfield.
  7. That's cool, and great for those guys doing it. I can see this snowballing.
  8. Maybe Ortiz will finally get his shot.
  9. Carew is a really good guy, I hope he gets his transplant.
  10. My first thought when the trades was announced was "Oh NO! Now we keep Ploof". I was so hoping Ploof would bring back some catching help, and could have. Now this morning listening to TR with Dave and Sid, Ploof isn't going anywhere. Going by what TR said, Ploof is locked in at 3rd base. He said the plan is for Sano to play right field. Sano is about to start getting playing time there now. There's been talk here on Ploof playing outfield but as I've stated over and over, he's slow. He can't play outfield without a huge dropoff. So, TR also sees Sano as the better athlete. Sano should be at 3rd base IMO. Just maybe, when Buxton does join the team, Ploof will be dealt. About the only thing I liked in this interview was the fact that TR, when asked about Max in AAA, TR said not at all the plan. He heaped praise on Kepler and said he'd have a good shot at making the team and can play all 3 outfield positions. So, when, and if, Buxton and Max do join the team, Ploof will have to go! I can't wait.
  11. Good article Thrylos, this guys sounds like he just might be able to help us out. That would be great!
  12. Ploof and Milone go to the NL somewhere.
  13. I don't see any way Poof can play outfield. He gets slower every time he gets out of bed. We had a decent outfield last year and I'd hate to see that drop off a cliff. Neither should Sano be in the outfield, he's a third baseman. So one of these guys has to go, and it's easy to see which one.
  14. Any post about Poof staying and Sano in the outfield gets a huge dislike from me, button or no button. Hicks will not be traded.
  15. 95% chance Poof is traded. I'd go with 100% but I really want him gone anywhere so there's odds I'll be disappointed. I'll say it again, he's a downer and we'll never win with him. Sano can play 3rd base. That won't be the only trade TR makes either.
  16. Having seen Buxton in Ft Myers and his brief stints with the Twins I have my doubts about his plus plus arm. So maybe SD or someone who has seen more of him can compare it with, say Rosario and Hicks. Thanks.
  17. I don't know about all this other stuff, but for KC I give the hitting coach a ton of credit. To help the entire lineup, top to bottom make that kind of contact is incredible. No one hardly strikes out. I don't care who the opposing pitcher is, these guys step into the box with a plan and execute it. It's fun to watch.
  18. I'd hate to see Justin get hurt again, as I'm sure he'll guard against. So just maybe he'd agree to be the full time DH. I'd much rather we brought him back than Cuddy. Then again, maybe Morneau will just retire to his family and cars.
  19. No way, no how, is Ploof in the top 100!
  20. But you've never talked with him yourself. I could tell you story after story of times he's gone way out of his way to do things for people, including myself, that really shouldn't be posted on the net. I'd bet not many TD'ers would go above and beyond as he has, and he's done it with a smile on his face. He cares. He's just a good guy.
  21. Thanks for the reports. Been a long time playing ball for some of these guys, as some were down there in January. I hope to be back down this winter, but have no place to stay this year. If you hear of anything not to expensive, please let me know!
  22. It's great to see him in the playoffs and playing. Some day his book will be a must read.
  23. I have to disagree. Ploof has got to go for this team to take steps forward. Mark my words.
  24. Ploof has got to go, as I often said. If any GM's out there think as much of Poof as some of our TD'ers, we'll get some decent return and be better off for it.
  25. Wow! Never seen that before, and it's legal? Interesting.
