    If Ploof has proven anything this year, it's that he is really, really slow. He's gotten slower as the year has gone on, not only running but in the field. Nunez made a great play last night that Ploof couldn't have. And leading baseball in gidp's? Any extension has flown out the window. Get back what we can for him.

    I got a little bored so sat on the 'puter in the other room, but when I heard Sano was coming up to bat I headed back to the tv. Never know what he might do!

    I think that's a poor suggestion, Mike. Do you pick a couple of minor starters and limit them to 5 inning starts next season with the thought that if they may help the big club in Sept, they'd be available?

    I see a 12-13 record the rest of the way. Not enough, but still 83 wins for the season, and an improvement over the Gardy reign. The wild card possiblity will still be in play Oct 1st, so quite a lot longer in contention that previous years. They've surprised me this year.

    He's done a good job for us this year. Nothing flashy, but solid. He'll be penciled in next season I'd bet. I'm on the fence with Gibson.

    The way they were swinging and missing on breaking balls, I wouldn't have brought in a fastball pitcher. That's just asking for it.

    This spring I was told would be Doug's last year of managing in the minors. He wants a big league job and will probably be in the mix for some team.
