  1. I would give up any prospects for Paddack except Graterol. This includes Lewis and Kirilloff
  2. Yes. He’s already had multiple concussions and a move to first will allow him to get 500 plus at bats. This will never happen behind the plate
  3. He has ace stuff but not ace command. If he improves his control he can be one of the best pitchers in baseball
  4. This. If he can’t stick at short his prospect value halves. If your assessment tells you he isn’t likely to stay at short trade him immediately for the best pitching deal you can get
  5. I was going to post this a while back but Souhan beat me to it. I find it interesting that the current FO and Ryan are pretty similar in their core values of highly valuing prospects and avoiding costly free agents. Of course they are very different in how they arrive at their decisions
  6. I hope he has great success for the Twins. I will be very happy if you are able to write something similar next year at this time
  7. They have to start him and I would keep him in the big leagues. 30 starts of 4 innings is 120 innings. Maybe Smeltzer is his piggyback. Complete opposite
  8. Defense matters. The whole infield is sub par including Sano. I wanted a strong SS with Polanco moving to second. That would have made a considerable difference. I don’t know what you do with Arreaz. His bat is great but in the field not so much
  9. To me the story was Berrios. He is our #1 guy and he came out and pitched scared. I thought Gibson was out there for a while. For us to win the series we need Berrios to be a commanding presence and he was not last night
  10. No. It’s kind of a ridiculous notion to be honest.
  11. You Tube TV is a great value for $50 a month. It includes every sports channel I want including the Big 10 network and Tennis Channel which are usually add ons. It took me 5 minutes to sign up and can even watch it at my cabin by streaming to my phone using my unlimited data and connecting the phone into the HDMI port on the TV
  12. All the quirkiness of baseball is true. Especially if Phil Cuzzi has the left field line
  13. I love that he is not afraid. He attacks the zone and puts pressure on the hitter. Gibson and Perez should take notice
  14. More sloppy baseball which seems to be frequent. I really hope Rocco is addressing this behind the scenes. This about the tenth time this year that we got thrown out because “of a perfect throw”. There is no excuse for Rosario on that play. You stop at second-going to third gains you practically nothing. Plus Sano was on deck
  15. I agree with this. If you also consider that just warming up represents a considerable amount of the pitches thrown it makes even more sense to get more mileage out of them once they are warmed up. Meanwhile the other reliever that would have used doesn’t do a thing that day
  16. I would only sign Gibby if he is willing to take #5 starter money
  17. Definitely hard to choose which is a great sign. I would Rogers, Garver then Kepler. Rogers came through in the first half when our bullpen was atrocious and bought time to get it fixed
  18. Interesting that Rocco pulled Smeltzer when things were going well and stuck with Thorpe when he really struggled. This club is never out of it and seem to know it
  19. I like Big Mike because he pounds the zone. No more pitchers afraid on the mound. My concern with Big Mike is health: I think his body is going to completely fall apart in the near future
  20. As TK always said - momentum is the next games starting pitcher. Let’s go Odo.
  21. Read my post. I didn’t blame them for any part of this season. I merely pointed out that they inherited a good young team. They have done good work with Sano but I believe the reason for improvement in the core is that they are approaching their prime with some experience under their belt
  22. Falvine inherited this entire lineup except Cron and Cruz. They also inherited Berrios, Rogers, Duffy and May (and Pressly) and Gibson if that is a positive. They have done some good things but have screwed up plenty. Let’s be careful about associating every part of this season as a credit to them
