    You are correct, he has started 10 games has 25 innings and a 6.12 ERA with 13 walks. I am a big fan of him, but I don't think we will see him at target field until 25.

    Raya is 21 in A+ with 59 innings he probably isn't a real solution next year, Festa has 90 innings and a 4.39 ERA in AA, again probably not a solution other than a few starts. Paddock is coming off TJ surgury and will be on a innings limit. So in reality there isn't much depth after the starting 4.

    IMO, there is a huge difference in writing an article and just commenting on somebody's opinion in a reply. When you write an article you put yourself out there for criticism and should be open to that opinion being call idiocy, he didn't call him an idiot which would IMO would have been unacceptable to personally attack somebody but criticize an opinion when you put yours in an article should be fair game.

    I had them at 90+ wins at the beginning of year. They were running out the best starting pitchers in my lifetime and had Ober and Varland in the minors and Duran at the back of the pen. They were running out two supposedly all world players (Buxton and Correa) plus some young guys I really liked AK, Miranda, Jeffers and Julien and solid backups everywhere (Taylor, Solano Farmer). The only reason I only had them at 90 was the abysmal job they did setting up the pen.

    I guess you completely missed where I said ONE of them and where do you come up with giving 8-10 prospects? No one ever said sell the farm for relief pitchers, probably NO one ever, but many like me said getting one would greatly help the bullpen in the season and playoffs. Hey if the guys you listed do really well in the playoffs I am a big enough man to say I was wrong, but if they don't will you?

    So we are up to 22 2/3 of wasted minor league innings for Ober? What are they doing with this guy?

    Of course standing pat is the correct strategy because it would be horrible to have basically given up little to nothing to one of these Keynan Middleton, Sam Moll, Jose Cuas, Chris Stratton, Kendall Graveman, or Reynaldo López . I mean why have one of them when you can have an injured Stewart, when has he last pitched?, a not very good pitcher in Pagan, an injured Alcala, a soft throwing non strike out pitcher in Keuchel, a guy coming off of ACL in Paddack, a update down pitcher in Winder and a guy with an ERA over 6 since mid August in Maeda. The idea that not trying to upgrade your not very good bullpen for a playoff team at a low cost is not a strategy, I don't care what anybody says.

    As long as Stevenson never gets an at bat, I can agree with this.

    To me it will come down to what the Twins think about LF. If they plan on bringing in a LF, then they can trade Polanco or not pick up his option and start Lee at second, AK at first, Julien and others at DH. . If their plan is Wallner or Larnach in LF, then I think they have to keep Polanco don't think you can go into a season with an unknown in LF, 2B (Lee or Julien), 1B (AK) and DH (Julien).

    This is why you can't judge what a 29 year old is doing in AAA, he is 29 and in AAA for a reason. 100% agree on Lewis, He is 4th on the team in RBI while only playing 50 games, Everybody but Polanco should be embarrassed by that. (Correa, Kepler, Taylor, Buxton, Gallo talking to you)

    Fatigue? 24 and 25 year old men that have played 126-129 games? and lets be honest this downward trend didn't just happening in the last week or two it started the beginning of August. Miranda's OPS was .743 in September last year and for the year was .751, his September was actually better than August. So I don't think he is a good comparison for these two. I still have high hopes for Julien and not so much for Wallner, but if the Twins keep Polanco, Julien could find himself without a spot. As for Wallner my take hasn't changed they need to bring in a starting left fielder, because I believe they will keep Kepler.

    All three trades are no brainers and IMO none would be enough. The first one might do it, if they think Larnach can stay healthy and be on the opening day roster, Raya and Schobel could also be up pretty quickly. a 25 year old injured minor league player and a 27 year old relief pitcher? The third one might be the most intriguing for them, but most all be the one that back fires the worst or not see value for years.

    IMO, one of Gordon and Castro have to go (It would be Gordon for me) and one of Larnach and Wallner have to go. Martin kind of takes both of the spots of the guys that leave. I think Kepler stays and Taylor goes (if they believe Castro and Martin are capable back ups) if the Twins are playing on Buxton DH's like this year then you have to bring in a real CF or keep Taylor.

    So 4 starts and 17 innings is way different than pitching 2 to 3 innings ever few days? I would never have pitched him for 1 inning, that would be misuse as well. Everybody knew for at least one time though the rotation starts would be shorter, everybody knew Maeda would be limited in his first few starts (5,6,2,3). All I am saying is there was an opportunity to stretch him out and limit his innings without spending the first and last month of the season not pitching in the majors. And to be honest I wouldn't have allowed him to get to 140 innings this year prior to 8/28.

    Game 1 Lopez went 5 1/3, there was two innings available for him there, or game two Gray went 5 there was 2 or 3 innings available. Game 4 Mahle went 5, game 6, game 6 Maeda went 5. There were innings for him in the beginning is what I am saying, without jerking him around. He started 4 games in the minors and went 17 2/3 innings, what is the difference he was going 2 or 3 in the pen in 5 or 6 games compared to 4 in 17? I respect your opinion, I just think he was a better option than Pagan, ALcala, Moran or Sands, and if you look back I said it then.

    Since we knew he was on inning limit, I would have started him in the Pen, going a couple of innings a time, and then moving him to starter when he was needed. Seems pretty simple. I mean having a major league pitcher pitch in the minors doesn't seem like the a good plan, regardless of options.

    Of course they did, everybody knew he would be on a innings limit and they wasted 17 of those in the minors. Those were 17 innings that could have been used in the majors. So was it a disaster like Gallo and Buxton? no, but it was mishandled.

    To your first question, I am going to say no, in 22 he pitched 103.2 innings and this year is at 85, so I don't think he has a legit chance of being a starter the whole year. With that said I believe he will be pitch for the Twins next year.

    I didn't say they couldn't find somebody better, I said the opposite of that when I said he shouldn't have been signed and should have been cut a long time ago. I said it could be worse, and was told it couldn't be. I sound like Rocco? why because he complained about the signing at the time, or because he has been saying he should have been cut for months? I haven't heard him say any of that. IMO I sound like you, other than I am willing to admit it could be worse and you seemingly aren't.

    yes I sound like Rocco? I didn't like the signing at the time and been saying Gallo is terrible and should NOT be on the Twins. Saying there are players that could be worse than him is dependent on analytics? Gallo is a bad player but it could be worse. But you are saying is somebody couldn't hit worse than .180? or couldn't be get OBP less than .304 or SLG below .447.

    I am not a Gallo fan, and I believe he shouldn't be on the Twins. But has an OPS+ of 103 (which is higher than Buxton, Taylor, Correa, Farmer, Castro, and Vazquez) and a positive oWAR, so yes it could be worse

    He spent the whole year at A+ as a 20 year old, that is great, sure it would be nice to have better stats, but if he spends next year AA at 21, he is knocking on the major league's door at 22, and that is awesome. I don't think he currently is behind the development curve I believe he is ahead of it.

    and someday we might look back and say the same about Luplow, Garlick, Moran, Winder, Headrick, De Leon, Sands, Ortega, Keuchel, Balazovic, Rodriguez. Or possibly, Stevenson, Helman or Williams, heck even Martin. It is always easy to say the next best things are better than the previous next best things. Because the current ones haven't had failed yet. For example two weeks ago people were saying Balazovic needs to be pitching in higher pressure situations, now not so much.
