  1. Baldelli didn't really make any moves in game that affected the outcomes one way or another as far as the lineup goes. The bullpen was really good. So no complaints there. And the big bad east is 0-2 in the wildcard. Can the Twins continue to rely on 13-15 outs from the pen? That's a big ask. But the Headricks, Sands, and Winders aren't out there so maybe. Congrats on WCS series win. Now go beat Houston. I think they are below 500 at home. But are really good on the road. Should be a good series.
  2. July? A lot had doubts in Sept. And the excuse train was fueled and loaded. Now it's on to Houston. I missed the last 15 pages of threads while grilling steaks baked potatoes and asparagus. It tasted so good going down as the Twins finished off Toronto. Without all those clamored for runs and agonizing over every bullpen decision.
  3. They were the Bananas of that era. It was as much about the carnival atmosphere as it was about the baseball. I can't remember the old guy who wore the baggy uniform. But he was hilarious.
  4. So that was the Black Sox series. Who had the smaller crowd? Cinci or Chicago? And you were around then Chief, who were you rooting for? Say it ain't so
  5. From what I read. Taxpayers are funding 600 million, the Rays 700 million. Taxpayers funded the majority of Target Field if I'm not mistaken. But 1.3 billion. That's a big number. It better be nice.
  6. 18,700. That was roughly the crowd size in Tampa Bay. It's truly baffling to me that a good team, year in and year out has such a hard time attracting fans. I know the start time and crappy stadium. But that area is a baseball hotbed for youth baseball. And Twins fan's had the metrodome. So what is it. And they're getting a new stadium. What will the excuse be then. Or is it because their turnover is so high. Great at player/pitcher development. But losing them or trading players as they approach FA.
  7. Negative ghostrider. All scotch whiskies are not created equal. Its just when you go past the I'm no longer sober that it matters less. 😄
  8. I think in order to be canonized as a Saint. There has to be 3 miracles confirmed. I think he might need 1 more. 4 grand slams in shortest amount of games played and Game 1 performance.
  9. I get your argument. And I agree in part. The downside is IF he is the next Kirby Puckett it's going to cost any team way more. Let's take the 8 years for 96. That takes him to age 32 or so. Vs having control of him till age 29. At age 29 if he signed a 3 year deal similar to Correas from last year 3 year at 35 million per year (salaries going up every year) it's going to cost way more. And his injury history doesn't help.
  10. I'm not sure about what the article is trying to say. To me it sounds like the Twins will live with these results. But I would counter with, what would the results look like if they cut that strike out percentage from 48.5 percent once they get 2 strikes to at or below the league avg of 42 percent. The overall offensive numbers would go up. Anthony Rizzo early in his career was a great example of shortening his swing with 2 strikes. His power numbers would drop off but he would put the ball in play. Which is better? Putting the ball in play or striking out? The job they did yesterday was a good example. Against Gausman the key was not to chase. So the approach didnt change. The hitters were looking for pitches they could handle. The results came from not swinging at bad pitches.
  11. Yeah, but rookies aren't supposed to be able to do this. Haha 😄
  12. Yeah. But what concerns me is it seems Bo Bichette destroys Twins pitching the way Perez did for the Royals.
  13. Yeah. Like getting picked off at 1st. Only youngsters/rookies make those mistakes. NOT
  14. Tim Wakefield lost his battle with brain cancer. Just 57. He did a lot of community work. I would've never guessed he was #3 all time in wins for the Red Sox. Behind only Clemens and Cy Young. RIP Mr Wakefield
  15. Not original. Been used numerous times by you already. In fact it's stale. 🤣
  16. Trolling? That's your middle name. Or bandwagon. Depending on 🤪 the day
