  1. Nice shutdown inning there. Now do they send him out again?
  2. Baseball stats? You mean like your stats about Polancos month of Aug and if he could sustain it would be one of the greatest years ever by a 2nd baseman. Like a .300 avg with an .880 OPS. Someone mentioned Rogers Hornsby who only hit .356 and had a 1.010 career avg and OPS. Like those stats?
  3. Did you ever watch Bullwinkle? They had a segment on there where Rocky introduces him. He's like a swami or professor or something. I forget what he was called. You'd be perfect for that part.
  4. Luck has nothing to do with it. Lucky they were right at guys? So in other words I can say the hitter was lucky that he hit it 15' to the right or left or the fielder would have caught it. That's why stats like babip are useless. If everytime Correa or Kepler or any other Twins defender makes a good play and I say they were lucky, you're going to tell me the same thing, about how it's because they're extraordinary defenders.
  5. When teams have good defenders, they tend to turn hits into outs. Cleveland has done it over and over in this series. So I don't think Cleveland pitchers are "lucky" Yeah they're lucky to have those guys on their team.
  6. The quote was that it's physically impossible. It's not. Hence the reply
  7. All major league umpires must pass the final part of their test with a 100% score. It's the you must conspire against the Twins in every situation regardless of what you think you have seen.
  8. As Smalley and Bremmer are commenting on how the Twins hitters don't chase
  9. I don't think it can be that simple. 1st off he's been resting it already. For about a month. Now on the rehab he feels pain after a few games. And you're suggesting that maybe this will only set him back a week. Doesn't seem likely to me. I'm hoping that the best case scenario is that this just costs him the rest of the 23 season. But now father time and history are against him.
  10. Is this idea being floated to prevent Correa from possibly breaking the MLB record for GIDP? (Sarcasm) Correa is a veteran player. Sure he wants to play everyday. In the same token if Rocco decides to give him an occasional day off Correa is not going to object. He's really the only guy with extensive playoff experience. Yeah I know there's others. But he's going to be the guy leading the troops. And I'm sure it's already been discussed. If the Twins can extend the division lead to 8 or 10 he'll get rest. If Cleveland goes on a tear and eats into that lead, he won't. JMO
  11. I saw that too. I thought it was inverted. 6-11. At least it seems that way. Lol
  12. I agree that they don't quit. But there has been a lot said recently about this team lacking heart or guts. Yet in saying that they don't quit, one must also add that there's still a lot of things to clean-up. Today it was baserunning. Yesterday it was the pen giving away a game similar to the one they won today. And I see a lot of trying to win it with 1 swing vs advancing baserunners. Cleveland is coming to town. I hope they can get past this 6 games over .500 hurdle once and for all.
  13. It's obvious that it's something that's worked on. As soon as that ball was hit Correa ran to position himself as the cutoff while Polanco went over to cover 2nd. It was a thing of beauty on that particular play.
  14. Not as exciting as last night, but still entertaining. Gray gave the Twins the start they needed. The offense provided him a nice cushion in the 1st. And put it away in the 7th. They missed on a couple scoring opportunities between them, but it's hard to complain when they score 12. Hopefully they saved something for Scherzer tomorrow. Perhaps they can get past that 6 games over .500 barrier soon.
  15. They could bring back Ozzie and Bill Veecks son too. He's still around baseball. Opening day will be Disco Demolition II.
  16. There's so many variables here. IF you are signing Ohtani for DH only, he still might get record money but nowhere near the 5 or 600 million that's being tossed around as if they were dimes and not dollars. And if a team is willing to go let's say 6 or 8 years, how many more will he pitch. He's not going to pitch forever. Especially if he does get the 2nd TJ. I could see the Twins offering 6 for 300 but not much more. That would still be the highest salary per year. But there will be better offers. His injury couldn't have come at a worse time for him. I wish him well.
  17. I do see what you're saying in regards to the last 30 games. I'm just reading the tea leaves like everyone else. If it happens the way you see it and he does get broken down again, they are just setting themselves up for a similar scenario for next season. With even less time for recovery. I guess we'll all see in the next week or so.
  18. Really? If he hasn't played CF all season, and according to Rocco he wasn't physically able to. And now he goes on the IL and he is recuperating from whatever put him on the IL. And as he's doing that he's going to be able to come back and play the field too. That makes absolutely no sense. He had all of the off season to get ready for 2023 and he wasn't able to recover fully to start the season in the outfield. Now he's out for 2 months and he's good to go. I don't know but it sure sounds like a 12 pound walleye story.
  19. So meaningful games started at the end of March. It's now the end of August. Buxton hasn't hit decent since May, and he hasn't played defensively all season. And now he's on the IL and the front office is teasing with ramping him up defensively upon his return. I got some ocean front property in Arizona too! I think it's totally unrealistic. I'll believe it when I see it. And apologize for being wrong.
