Nice game Twins. A thorough win in all areas. A little worried about Lewis. Not his 0 for 3 but he looked fragile running. One time he quickly grabbed his hamstring. To me he didn't look healthy. I hope he is truly ok.

twins Has Joe Ryan vaulted himself into ace status?
Whitey333 commented on Chris Hove's blog entry in Chris's Twins Blog
Ryan has pitched great. Do we need to analyze the validity in calling him an ace? Does it matter? Also he came to us in a trade with Tampa Bay. I don't think he's been with the Twins organization since day one. He has been awesome. Ace status or not. -
Yes the Twin̈s front office has issues. I think they do a rotten job

I'm guessing it's Gasper and Clemens to go. But does it really matter? They have plenty of options. They are still 7 games out of first place in the Central. The thing is it's early in the season is getting late. We've been saying this since the team started 0-4. When is it don't worry it's early? A slumping Oriole team comes to town on Tuesday. The Twins need to sweep them or at least take 2 of three. Anything less is a total failure. Royce Lewis needs to prove he can stay on the field AND be productive. Put up or shut up.

Let's see here: team is 13-20. 8 games behind first place Detroit. Nothing changes. They waste good starting pitching and can't hit or score runs. Their record since last August is abysmal. Oh well. Let's see what happens Saturday haha.

A typical issue with Baldelli is over-using analytics. Way over thinking the game and not being able to or willing to, make changes or adjustments to his "plan". It sure has worked well. The Twins have missed the playoffs 3 of the past 4 seasons and will likely miss again in 2025 as their 13-19 record shows. Analytics has a place in the game but Baldelli and the Twins way over emphasize it in place of good old common sense.

Twins Acquire Kody Clemens from Phillies
Whitey333 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Nothing against Kody Clemens but couldn't we have done better? This going after other teams DFA players is getting old and worn out. I think Clemens can help but really, come on. What or who did we trade to get him? Maybe his dad, Roger Clemens, can pitch once in a while. Really sucks about Keashall getting hurt. He brought some life to the team. He could be out 2 months. So sad. We'll we have a deep bench now don't we?- 74 replies

Roÿce Lewis coming back soon? I don't really care anymore of Lewis. If he could stay on the field and produce some major league stats.

Just a couple of notes: Twins won 6-3 The White Sox are an awful team The home plate umpire was awful. We shouldn't be surprised. It was Laz Diaz who's been awful for years. We hope the game doesn't get rained out Thursday. We are playing the White Soz. It'd guaranteed win day. We need to.get MLB to let Twins play the White Sox at least 10 games each month. The Twins are a bad baseball team. Thank you White Sox for helping us cover up the Twins weaknesses.

Bottom line is Twi n s won 4-2. An ugly win perhaps but they won due to a great catch by Buxton and larnachs homerun and base running. The Twins slept through the first 8 innings and were aided by 2 big errors by the White Sox. Plus Larnach was hit by a thrown ball while clearly running inside the box. He could have easily been called out and the run wouldn't have scored. When blaming umpires throughout the season let's not forget that play that two umpires missed. Plus in the first inning the Sox missed a home run by inches as ball hit very top of fence. Twins only had 3 hits through seven and were outfit by 10- 5 for the game. Thanks to very poor defense by Sox and their inability to score it helped us until we woke up. But they won. Nice.

Very nice article. Well done. I agree. I've been a long time and loyal Twins fan for over 60 years. I've seen plenty of games at the old Met in Bloomington and a ton at the Dome. I've seen plenty at beautiful Target Field as well. I remember very fondly as a kid going to games. I always cherished those memories. The past few years have been difficult for me asba Twins fan. Yes 2023 was fun. But we haven't made the playoffs 3 of the past 4 years even though Falvey and the Twins tell us they are in a winning window. They play boring and undisciplined baseball. They are void of the basic fundamentals. They are 19-42 in their last 61 games dating back to last years collapse. No one in the organization seems to take responsibility for this terrible brand of baseball and the continued losing. The Twins, from ownership on down don't seem to care.

Can This Series Against The White Sox Jumpstart The Twins?
Whitey333 commented on Chris Hove's blog entry in Chris's Twins Blog
This isn't just the 7-15 2025 Twins. This goes back to last August. They are playing the same boring and listless ball. They are now like 19-42 going back to last year. They play like zombies. I expect Twins to maybe even sweep the Sox. However it won't change much. Twins sweep and then Rocco and the TV and radio Twins broadcasters will tell us how great they are. Then we will play a real major league of opponent instead of the White Sox. The schedule gets tougher in May. This is a bad baseball team managed and run by people who don't seem to care. -
Yes it's time for a change. I'm not a Baldelli fan at all but I surely don't place all the blame on him. Baldelli appears to have very little leadership qualities. He appears to stubbornly stick to his analytical pie chart not overly concerned about winning. And it shows. But if Baldelli goes so should Falvey. That's not likely since he just got a promotion by ownership. This team is a mess. None of the powers to be seem to care.

Yes very demoralizing game last night. Richardson scratched rom starting tonight. Topa to start. What??? Nice article but I think the Twins skywhike not falling is getting close to that. Buxton physically looks good and plays solid defense. But like usual he's not hitting. Unless of course you consider a batting average just slightly above .200 good. Correa has been bad since the beginning of spring training but looks like he may be getting better. Way too many ifs. Way too many underperformed veterans. Way too many unproven young " prospects." Prove me wrong Twins. Just win baby.

The payroll total dollars isn't the problem. It's how they are dispersed. Buxton, Correa, and Lopez make $73 million between the three of them. That's half the total payroll.

Very frustrating. Some very nice performances from Keashall and Paddock but bottom line is another loss. We had a chance to build on that Mets series and blew it.

They need to play him a lot. I agree with other posters that the Twins do a poor job of handling prospects. To bring him up and have him ride the bench would do a great disservice to him and the team. Too many times our prospects come up and ride the bench and stuck in this strict platoon system. They play in the minors full time come up here and play half time. Not a great way to develop players. Bring him up. We want to see him play. Play him.

They are pretty unwatchable but being a life long Twins fan I still watch. They are a boring baseball team. They don't hit many Homer's. They don't steal that many bases or run the bases well in general. They play poor fundamental baseball. Their defense is bad. Their starting pitchers in general are OK but the bullpen is way overrated. They seem to have very little enthusiasm or sense of urgency. They have a very poor manager surrounded by mediocre players. They have way too many injuries. Their "superstar" players are grossly overpaid and very underperformed. Their young core players they keep hyping are just that: over-hyped proving only that they are not good enough to take the team to the next level. Other than that, they are fine. And yes I will be watching them today. I'm still a Twins fan at heart. It just kills me to see how awful they have become.

IMO. Most fired managers are used as scapegoats by their organization. So thus would be nothing new. I've never been a fan of Baldelli. I don't think he is a very good manager. But it's becoming more and more obvious he's only part of the problem. The Front office must go.

Twins Injuries Reveal Twin Truths About Twins Depth
Whitey333 replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Hopefully both Correa and wallner are OK. IMO Wallner is much tougher to replace. Correa? He hasn't contributed much and I think he is a huge part of the Twins problem and not part of the solution to the malaise on this team. And in general all these injuries just mask the deep rooted problems with this team. They just give the organization an easy excuse for their putrid play.- 47 replies
