  1. This team needs to work on all the fundamentals. I don't think they really have much since TK and Gardy left. Bunting, hitting behind the runners, base running and for some base stealing!
  2. I would think Keaschall has a very good chance to break in sometime around mid season. I'm also watching for Alverez. He has destroyed lefties in the minors. If he continues that trend he may be up at some point.
  3. I'm excited to see what Keaschall looks like this spring. I can imagine him becoming a core player in the near future.
  4. The Twins had a pretty good "back end" of the pen, but when you take Duran and Jax out, an ERA around 4.5 or so isn't so great. So they are counting on a couple of guys to bridge the gap each game. Those guys were a bit of a crap shoot coming in for guys much more talented that quite often had another inning in them it seemed to me.
  5. Starter's IP has been an issue ever since Rocco arrived. Granted, a few of the seasons was because they had sub par pitchers, but the last couple of years it seems they have been awful quick with the hook. Rocco is going by the stats and charts, and he's probably correct to pull them at least 1/2 the time. This is what you get when a guy doesn't believe or trust his gut.
  6. I hope the new owners make some changes, to the FO and on field management.
  7. I usually watch the pre-game show, but post game gets turned off when Rocco comes on.
  8. An article in The Athletic says France signed a non-guaranteed contract. Maybe he won't stick around long enough to block some of the others in the system, unless he hits like he did a couple of years ago.
  9. Just let Miranda have 1B for the near future and see how it goes.
  10. I can see him producing similar numbers to MAT, with a little less power but a little better OBA.
  11. Let's hope his bat makes up for it. I would be interested to compare those with Larnach's.
  12. I'll be happy to see the auto strike zone and do away with this framing stat.
  13. After they got rid of some guys that were originally supposed to be "one of the best pens" key contributors. I don't look at stats as much as results. I watched every game last season and I sure saw a lot of runs and leads, given up.
  14. This sounds way to familiar to me. The projections are really kind of a crap shoot in the pen. Remember how we kept hearing how good the pen would be last spring? That sure worked out well!
  15. Maybe in the early going, but I think we will see Keaschall at 2nd some time in the season.
  16. I kind of like the idea of putting Lewis at 1st. I'm not so sure about Julian at 2nd though.
  17. I disagree that they don't care. Thats their job to put $$ into the owners pockets. Owners going broke would cause a lowering in pay eventually. But really, I don't know of any owners in that much financial trouble.
  18. They need to change something or the Dodgers and other big market teams will end up with all the star power. Spending big doesn't always mean winning, but it sure makes winning easier!
  19. I think it's the best thing I've heard from Rocco yet! Get some guys on base and move them around to keep the pressure on the other guys and mistakes will happen. Plus, a 2 or 3 run bomb is much nicer to see than the solo shots.
  20. Once again, predicting "the best pen in the league". I just cringe when I hear that, especially after all the hype last year. IMHO the better way to put it would be "on paper this looks to be one of the best pens in the league", and hope that doesn't jinx things!
  21. Still just a 1 year rental, unless they plan on offering up some sort of high buck contract to him, which is hard to do if you don't know who the owners will be, or what they will do with payroll.
  22. IMHO to give up that much in trade capital just doesn't make sense unless that 1 piece you added for 1 year, is enough to make you a legitimate WS contender. I just don't see the Twins as in that group.
  23. I just don't like adding an expensive 1 year rental unless you think it's the one piece that puts you over the top. The Twins just have too many questions for me to pull the trigger.
  24. Only time will tell about ownership, but some of these guys coming up on rookie deals, should make the payroll a little easier to manage.
