  1. Goodbye Lindor. Glad to see you gone. Go be a wonderful player for the Mets.
  2. I loved the St Louis version of Tommy Herr... The Twins version... not so much.
  3. How many times have we read it..."It's easy to spend someone else's money." I'm not sure it would be a good investment. Berrios, with his outstanding work ethic has trained himself to the maximum. How muchy strain has that put on his arm. He isn't as tall as most stellar pitchers and he has pitched so often, I wouldn't be surprised to see him needing arm surgery in the near future. If that happens after he is signed to an extension, that means we payed all that money and got little in return. Don't get me wrong. I love watching Berrios pitch, when he is going well, but I still think the Twins should invest their money more wisely.
  4. This series is fun to read, however I find it hard to follow which predictions were made and when they were made. I wish you would make some notes to clarify the dates of your predictions and any updates.
  5. Brad Hand is left handed and breathing but his price tag is outrageous.
  6. I'd like to see a lot more of Garver at 1B. If Donaldson cannot be the everyday 3B due to calf problems, Sano should be the #1 option and Garver should get AB as a 1B. All these guys (except Donaldson) are young and they could provide the Twins with fantastic flexibility for the future.
  7. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
  8. After thinking about Twins gains and losses in the Rule 5 draft, my conclusion is... So What? It rarely makes any difference at all.
  9. I think we have learned to not underestimate Falvine. By the end of Spring Training we will have made some significant positive moves.
  10. I can't begin to tell you how much I hate the idea of the Twins bringing in a Free Agent DH or Outfielder. We have an abundance of talent ready to play in the Majors and we might as well find out how many of them will stick. Besides... think I secretly hope they both will resign and return...
  11. Try and bring back May and offer him a chance to start. (Give Duffy a chance to start also, if he wishes.) How many of our Free Agent eligible players try and find jobs elsewhere will tell us a great deal about how the players feel about Rocco & his coaches + how they feel about our front office. If there seems to be a push to escape, they will be signalling that things are not so pleasant as they seem. I watched all the games on TV and the clubhouse seemed a happy enough place. But this was a crazy year with severe restrictions on the players movements which could distort how the players feel about the year and the Twins. I wouldn't mind spending on Clippard. Effective lefty's are always hard to find. Cruz blocks some of our young players from getting AB from the DH spot, but Cruz seems to be the glue that keeps the clubhouse loose. Didn't you love the Homer Rove? We can only trust that Falvine will make the right call here. and that leaves Rich Hill. I enjoyed watching him pitch in September. I still remember Jamie Moyer. I'll leave this one in the hands of Falvine and yell at them in the next offseason if they get it wrong. As for Romo, Avila, Gonzalez & Adriianza lets spend that money on a replacement for Berrios. Berrios has shown no indication that he is going to stay, so they might as well trade Berrios and Rosario for pitching prospects. Bring up Royce Lewis and Gordon to replace Gonzalez and Adrianza and we'll find out if they can hit in the major leagues.
  12. For 2 Games, the Astro's pitching was better than the Twins hitting. I am NOT going to pout about it. It was a fun season. I would like to be still playing, but we're not. Now we can get on with dreaming about next season. Congratulations Minnesota Twins on winning another American League Central Division Title.
  13. Lol, Lol. We got that stardust out of our eyes real quick. but don't worry. Another year, another time and he'll probably do just fine. Remember Berrios' first outings? Hopefully you forgot them. They were a disaster,, like Colina's appearance last night. Forget it. Next year he will probably be a star.
  14. I disagree that Arraez was not hurt by shifts. They shifted on him, but they were not extreme shifts. They took away his hits up the middle. I am saying this from memory, I don't have any charts in front of me. This is the impression I got from watching him hit too many "at'em balls". This was to be expected. Teams had an off season plus shutdown to analyze and prepare their defensive alignments. The last two weeks, Arraez was indeed reacting to these adjustments and was back to "hitting them where they ain't". I look forward to watching Arraez in future years and to improvements he makes in both his hitting and fielding. I think he is a gem of a hitter and fun to watch.
  15. Good! Let them all go out on the field and have a group hug. Fuels the rivalry. Thats what we need in this antiseptic age of niceness. lol
  16. Thank you Bert. It was my pleasure to listen to you all these years.
  17. Get some perspective folks. In a normal year, this would be April. Nobody worries about a players performance this early in the season. I believe the Twins hitters have shown that they'll be ready when hits are needed. Win Twins.
  18. If last nights performance doesn't give him confidence, then nothing will. That was a marvelous pitching performance to follow a very rare no-hit bid by Maeda. Those that watched were blessed.
  19. The Ace of the staff will be Pineda. Going into the playoff's, Big Mike is the guy we're going to want on the mound. Just wait & seel
  20. I'd love for Dobnik to be our 4th or 5th starter. The problem is, finding 3 or 4 pitchers getting better results.
  21. perhaps he is a "better than Blankenhorn" choice ??
  22. After watching Baily against the Cubs, I sure hope Rocko has a quick hook. He showed nothing. And Wisler should only be used for mop=up until he has proved himself. Dang but its good to have something to worry about
  23. I've been lucky to be able to watch those intra-squad scrimages and I 100$ agree. Duran, Chalmers and Jose Alcala looked very impressive.
  24. Oviously we don't want to see any injuries. We hold our breath when any of them gets hurt. This is the obvious reaction. Fortunately the Twins are rebuilt to withstand these injuries. We have good young pitchers available if any Berrios, Odoriaaqmor Maeda go down or if Rich Hill or Homer Baily can't perform up to their old standard. Pineda is coming back in the back half of our short season. He could be the Twins "Secret Weapon" when he returns. I've been impressed by johan Duran and Jorge Alcala, havn't you? We have more arms available than we know what to do with. We don't want Buxton or any of the other regulars to go down, but we have Gonzlwez, Adrianaa & El Totuga to replace the infielders (Is Gordon on our 60 man roster?). and we have Royce Lewis, Larnach, LaMonte Wade & Kiriloff to hit. We have hitters out the ying-yang. Injuries will only make a fascinating season more intriguing. Win Twins!
  25. If only we had a tape of our best moments. What a different world it would be.
