  1. We can't all be perfect, late of hate.
  2. I can't believe we have to watch Colome all the time now. Convenient to leave out those two horrible blown saves (18th and 25th against Cleveland and Boston) when talking about how he has been real real good since August 1. I still hate seeing him pitch. I will forever.
  3. Buxton now under .300, and his BA has dropped .70 + since his return..... I hate Reds pitchers. Mahle can suck it. Sims, too, for 2019 September beaning in the head.
  4. When balls are called strikes and strikes are called balls..... there is a human calling them.
  5. I'll take 5 innings of what Gant did today over 5 innings of the usual 3 runs given up in 5 by Pineda just about every outing...... plus... he knows how to wear his hat.
  6. GIBAUT!!!! Carry on the carnage. Cruz can use a little of that. He as been pretty bad on Tampa so far.
  7. ....and even Baltimore can beat the Yankees........
  8. Sure would be nice for Buxton to find the stroke again.
  9. So I'll set the over/under at 10 - how many runs will Baldelli let Albers get slammed with before he sits him. 7 for Barnes. 9 for Jax. I go 10 for Albers for the push. At 43 pitches after two, he has at least 3 more runs to give up in him, easy.
  10. How does it even happen that our AAAA pitcher, after all these years, hasn't come up with a windup/stretch move that is not controversial? HOW? 30-what years old and this crap.
  11. And there goes the two-hitter.
  12. And there goes the one-hitter. And the shutout.
  13. Well.... there goes the no-hitter......
  14. we see what we want to see, i guess. i think Colome has retired 9 in a row at some point......
  15. Dobnak. Same as it ever was since the smoke and mirrors lifted. Same as it will be.
  16. This is fascinating! A team with currently the best record in Baseball again (now tied again after tonight's Giants win for the same bragging point), will take a look at Vasquez in the heat of a battle to not be in the one game wild card rodeo or win the NL West with the best record in baseball........ but a team like the Twins, with all the right reasons to see Vasquez again, can't seem to find a couple innings for the guy with the likes of what that Twins are throwing out there right now! If Vasquez lights it up for the Dodgers................. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/09/dodgers-select-andrew-vasquez.html
  17. Pineda, eh? Damn. I guess I didn't recognize him with his tongue not sticking out Colome on top. I guess the sure tell is the crooked of the hat. Colome is right crooked and Pineda is left crooked. I find it sad that either would be the face of the Twins.
  18. Sometimes, there just isn't anyone that deserves an award, and like the HOF, you just skip it that time. This thread is the best place I could find to post this..... Colome is now being used to sell MLB.TV to Twins' fans on the Twins MLB site. Let that sink in. MLB thinks Colome will inspire action to watch the Twins the rest of the season. Circle of Awareness, MLB?
  19. First, I need to correct the TJ surgery point... it was shoulder capsule, not TJ. 2016, eh? Pre shoulder capsule surgery. I think, then, the statement that he has more than doubled his innings in one year is accurate. So,,,,, Urias is 25, and Ober is 26. Now it is about years in professional ball, and not age? OK. Argue to keep the band aids on, then? This was an example that popped up at the same time this discussion has, and it seemed to be a valid example to include, to me. Every pitcher/player is different. Urias is one example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julio_Urías
  20. Urias surgery was his shoulder capsule, not TJ - my mistake. Urias is 25. Ober is not young at 26. Now the excuse is years in pro ball, instead of age, which is often sited. However you want to slice it, Urias is younger, has had injury history, and has more than doubled his innings in one year, the year after the pandemic, and is way more successful than any of our pitchers. My comment was replying to pitchers being soft and babied. I make no excuses. Some will. This is an example of full steam ahead with great success. Deny it if you like, it is still happening.
  21. I read all the time about, and it is supported, usually, by the writers here at TD and the beat writers, limiting the pitchers that are healthy to minimum innings. That is what we hear about Ober all the time. Then I read this tonight on the Dodgers site: "Urías, 25, is in his first season without any sort of pitching limits and he’s shown why he was such a coveted prospect in his ascent through the Minor Leagues. The left-handed starter has nearly doubled his previous career high in innings pitched in a single season with 150 2/3, while also logging double-digit wins for the first time in his career. Urías has pitched at least five innings in all but one of his 26 starts this season and has a 3.17 ERA." Urias had TJ a couple years ago too! Seems their philosphy is a bit different. And, oh yeah, they have the best record in baseball using it (and spending owner's money very generously).
  22. And now, by W-L record, we are even worse than the Cubs. 90 loses here we come. 16 runs in last 7 games. Lucky to win the 3 we did. 2 hits tonight. Pretty damn sad. Ryan was wonderful except for the 3rd. They just had to do that interview with his mom........
  23. So far, 2 months, 60 days of good Kenta. Nolasco did that. Glad that makes us the winner, "no matter what". I wouldn't make a call yet, myself. Graterol could have a great run in the post season this year (or not). Kenta did pitch 5 shutout innings in game 1 against Houston. I would say the Twins are ahead right now, but that could change soon.
  24. So far, I blame it on the fluff piece with Ryan's mom in the 3rd.
  25. Time for the bats to WAKE UP! Support your rookie pitcher! 16 runs in last 6 games? Not even 3 runs per game average. Amazing they won any of those games....
