  1. People thought Murphy's performance at the end of 2015 and in the post season was a fluke, and couldn't be repeated. Well..... he and the Nats showed the rest of MLB. Fans are so fickle. I like having Dozier on this team. Prospects are for dreamers. Professional ball players are hard to come by. We have enough prospects. About time they become ball players.
  2. I agree totally. A HOF should be only the very special. Cuddyer is not HOF material, unless perhaps, there is a low bar. Well..... I guess there is a low bar. HOF should be reserved for great careers, not good careers.
  3. I bet De Leon ends up constantly hurt. I hope it doesn't happen unless they add Bellinger. Urias straight up would do it, though. Kudos for Falvey for holding out.
  4. Bold. Signing a declining catcher whose hitting is plummeting for $24 million is certainly bold and hopeful.
  5. Julio Urias is the only player to trade with the Dodgers for Dozier. The ONLY player.
  6. A real yawner for me. Like this team needs more strikeouts. This is Drew Butera before he decided to hit last year, with a few more dingers. I hate pitch framing. Object, to cheat the game of the proper call. I guess the only thing that can fix that and the at least 15% wrong calls by our arrogant power tripping umpires is to use the technology to fix the biggest flaw in the game and have a consistent correct strike zone.
  7. Twins' fans have forgotten how to aim high. Trained themselves. Convinced themselves. Yuk. And not the funny yuk. Why folks think May will excell anywhere baffles me. Tonkin too. Some seem to think we are forever trapped and can't escape them, so they keep talking themselves into hoping. The staff needs replaced! Not retreaded. I like Hughes to the pen, though. Always have - especially to start each and every season. Aim high, Mr Falvey.
  8. No to another high school prospect. No no no. Coupled with having to decide if he is a position player or pitcher, this would spell trouble.
  9. Kintzler is fools gold. Be happy you got what you did out of him, but no way he is a closer. 6th and 7th innings... see if he can repeat success. Personally, I doubt it very much. Unlike with Jepsen, do not be fooled! Tonkin? NOOOOOOOOO. Perkins is cooked. This will not be limbo, it will be the end. Do not expect he will be of any value at all if he can return. Holland? Take a chance. Chargois? Take a chance. I bet Falvey remakes the bullpen. I sure hope so. Other than the young prospects, I don't care if they are all gone. They were so horrible.
  10. I must need rose colored glasses. Sure, one would like to drink the koolaid and ignore this year's future "stars", but what I saw with clear clean lenses was a .230s club that includes Sano, Kepler, and Vargas, and Buxton lucky to see the .220 club. Yeah yeah... better months and weeks here and there. Strikeout mania. Berrios massive fails. So they all need to be average before they are stars. Reality folks.
  11. Personally, I am really tired of high school players that get drafted high and take forever to help the Twins, if ever. College pitchers that are then made to be something they weren't in college is a close second. I hope the new FO drafts much better, and lets college sort some of the high school failures out, instead of the Twins farm system. I don't know what to say about high draft picks like Levi Michaels. The top five are going to need a lot of luck to make it, is my bet. The Twins need some stars, not just MLB average players or worse.
  12. That is the hope, eh? From what most predicted Sano would do this year (didn't you have a Sano prediction?) , it was a let down. Hey, plenty of room to improve, for the whole .230 club, which includes Sano, Kepler, Vargas, and Escobar, with Buxton knocking on the door in the .220 club. Remember, Arcia made the 20 homer club, and that was as exciting as it got. Yeah, I stick with Sano's season as most disappointing, with hopes he really decides to work on his craft and drop 20 pounds over the off season and really improve in 2017.
  13. Exactly. His averages: OPS, OPS+, BA, SLUG, and OBP for the year was virtually identical to 2015. Improved? Not so much. And even if you disregard the last two months...... not so much. In my world, the whole season's performance counts, though. You can vote the way you like. I will do the same.
  14. If you miss 1/3 of the season as a member of the Twins because you were traded and not a Twin...... Well, you can no longer be the most improved Twin because you are not a Twin. At least in my world.
  15. Dozier got the extra homer and RBI that he is not getting credit for. The rain. He needs an asterisk, and the rule needs to be changed to keep all individual stats from rainouts. To pretend that they didn't happen is cheating history.
  16. Dozier. One monthers Buxton and Vargas? Naaaaa. Plus Vargas got worse after his month. Buxton at least ended the year on the upswing. Most disappointing.... Sano.
  17. The worst. It is funny to read those in denial. Talent? When .230 hitters are called talent, fans have been numbed by futility.
  18. Funny! And clever. Make the new guy Falvey earn his cred.
  19. He can't run for president for a couple years..... Perhaps Francona will follow him? I was was thinking young.... but not necessarily robbing the cradle. I was thinking Baby Falvey for GM, but not POBO. Time will tell. Looking forward to something completely different.
  20. He wouldn't have made my staff out of Spring Training. If he can succeed elsewhere, good for him. No tears.
  21. McLeod would be my pick. The way I understand it, the new president is to chose the GM. If this Molitor obstacle is truly going to be pushed, it is only for a year by contract. The interviews, as it has been promoted, have no GM selection component. The new POBO needs to be the one making the selections down the ladder after he is hired.
  22. Looking like a push for the number one draft pick to me.
  23. Molitor is just as bad as Gardenhire about playing players out of position. It surely contributes to leading the league in errors. Molitor is lost.
  24. Just as actors play a defining role and get type cast.... to assume one can't adapt behavior to a different organization is a bit close minded.
  25. Hmmmmmmmmm. Said with confidence though, like they knew better.
