    He could hit!

How can a ML outfielder miss home plate by 20 plus feet?
  3. Winston Smith
As long as Grossman and Field get their reps all is well.
  4. Winston Smith
    Grossman? Why?
  5. Winston Smith
Great player once not now. Does a FO that is trying to build a strong playoff contending team really need a 36 yr old part time replacement level 1B/DH?
  6. Winston Smith
Him and Grossman are building blocks for the future. I should add Petit, Field and Belisle all building blocks.
  7. Winston Smith
He's a building block for the future Chief.
  8. Winston Smith
He's one of the key building blocks for the next world series run, didn't you know that?

@AaronGleeman Aug 31 Jorge Polanco has started 176 games at shortstop since the beginning of last season and @BaseballPro rates him as -14 runs. And that was before tonight.
  10. Winston Smith
Have you ever checked Fields results?
  11. Winston Smith
Move Polanco to 2B and sign or trade for a good defensive SS this winter.

The front office lost me today. After nearly 2 years in charge the team has an old back up catcher playing 1B, Grossman with his .700 ops as cleanup hitter and dh and Fields for whatever reason being on the team at all. 2 years to turn this around and that's the kind of garbage we have to watch. Luckily today I took a nap and missed most of it. The TV guys are going no room for Buxton with Cave playing so well, could Cave play LF instead of Field? Guess not. Could Buxton play LF better than Field? Guess not. This is garbage piled on top of garbage. Somebody should get fired!

Somebody should be fired for putting this product on the field!
  14. Winston Smith
Austin sits against a lefty and Grossman with his .700 ops hits 4th... amazing Paulie. Don't forget to bunt them over today.
  15. Winston Smith
    Sorry Romero...
  16. Winston Smith
I think I saw somewhere that Ramos is getting close to an inning limit. Somebody looks nervous!!
  17. Winston Smith
Can't wait, this is so sad...
  18. Winston Smith
If he comes up and hits .175 the extra year of control seems meaningless.

Joe was a great player at one time but that that was many years ago. If this team is serious about building a strong post season team it won't waste a roster spot on a 36 year old part time replacement level player. Time to move on and get serious about building the future of this team.
  20. Winston Smith
    Grossman future Twins HOFer.
  21. Winston Smith
If Grossmean is in the long term plans of this team... never mind. Save the warning point.

My guess is the real Halsey would light up a cigar and pour himself a tall glass of whiskey. I had surgery myself this summer over at Mayo. Spent 11 days there, getting old sucks. I guess getting old is better than the alternative, however.
  23. Winston Smith
Wish they'd let Austin play 1B everyday for the rest of the season. He won't get any better without playing and at least then you can say he got the chance. Mauer doesn't need the practice anymore.
  24. Winston Smith
Hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
  25. Winston Smith
Austin needs to play 1B every day, getting as many reps as possible. Maybe he can play maybe not but he needs to play to get better or determine he isn't a fit there, imo.
