    To be clear I wasn't a Bill Smith fan. However, one thing he did was try to win and spent the money and made the trades to do that. Most of his bad trades had Gardy's fingerprints all over them, imo. Blaming Smith also fails to put any blame on the scouts and player evaluation guys that ok'd them and Terry still had an office down the hall and was involved. Smith was and is a money guy so all his trades he had to rely on the same guys that are still in Twins system scouting, etc. Except for the last year, which most people blame on injuries, the Smith years look pretty good right now. Having said that I don't want him back!!

    Thinking out side the box here. Maddon is only signed thru 2015 and has said he isn't sure he'd re-up. Low payroll, poor stadium and fan support I think play into this. How about making a trade with the Rays for Maddon? The Red Sox did that a couple years ago why not?

    They have to let the new guy or gal pick the coaches and not start out interfering right from the get go.

    A report says they let all the coaches go as well and will look outside and inside for a replacement.

    Most teams seem to be looking for guys up on stats and shifting and a more modern way of managing. Unless Gardy does an about face that isn't him. It will be interesting to see where he goes if he goes. He really should just take a year off and maybe do some TV while collecting his paychecks for the year. Maybe drop a few pounds and recharge his batteries.

    Maybe Arcia is the guy you trade. Homeruns still sell some places. He probably gives up as many runs as he creates but a team with a DH spot might like him. We have more DH types than anything right now.

    A crazy idea is to trade with the Jays for Bautista and Buehrle, the Jays clearing a lot of salary. We send Plouffe and HIcks plus at least one prospect depending about how much money comes back. Of course we can also throw in Duensing and Butera. Craziest trade I can come up with this early on a Monday.

    Really Jim Perry wins the Cy Young (1970) and he doesn't make the list?

    Dozier probably could have used a few more days off. He's played in 17 more games than the next guy. Not sure why Gardy can't give him a few more days off. He will likely be better off if he stops trying to be a homerun hitter and works on getting his ave up, imo.

    Enough is enough! A fresh approach, some new ideas and a new voice certainly can't do any worse. Only one team over the last four years has more losses and to try selling the same old same old again this off season? I would think Jim Pohlad is a better businessman than that. St Peter what is all this losing doing to your "brand"? No All Star game to market this winter!

    Vargas plays first, Pinto is the DH and backup catcher and Joe moves to LF. Joe certainly can play out there as well as Willy or Delmon did.

    "Ryan is bad at his job, he couldn't trade the guy who sucks!" When he's a guy you signed and he sucks you should shoulder some fault.

    A silly rumor being spread is Price and Zobrist to the Tigers. Now that would be something! Do the Tigers have that much in their system to do this? I'm going to keep thinking it's silly talk.

    Who wins the foot race between Vargas, Parmalee, Arcia, Colobello and Willingham? Wonder if Vargas can play center field?

    Left handed should fit in the middle of the rotation and we'll have him thru 2017. Bring up May and Meyer with Hughes and Gibson it starts to look like an ok rotation going forward. Not sure where Nolasco will fit in.

    Twins just got Tommy Milone from the A's. Sounds like a good move without knowing what he cost.
