Has there been any info lately on Walker Jenkins? It is worrisome that he is still out.

Man, Jenkin's hammy strain must have been a doozy. I was really hoping he would be back by now.

Did Edouard Julien Sell Out Too Much for Power?
USNMCPO replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Maybe time for a new hitting coach. These professional hitters are not hitting. Something has to change.- 36 replies

I thought they had said that the injury was a mild quad not a hammy.

Hunter was an absolute joy to watch play. His defense was a long string of highlight reels. His return to the Twins in the twilight of his career was nice tip of the hat to Twins fans. He was an overall very good to maybe great player. There are so many players that fall into that category who are not in the HOF. I believe he will be considered to be just that - a very good ball player.

The Twins' New Broadcast Tandem Could Be Generational
USNMCPO replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This team will work great also when they a third guy to the booth such as Perkins or others that have joined in. The baseball conversation seems to take off in different directions and that is a good thing.- 35 replies

I would do Trade #3. Jeffers value is at a surprising high. Polo is at this point maybe a redundancy and Larnach is expendable. I love the job Jeffers did last year but the catching position is volatile at best. Injuries happen there often and the physical toll can be body killing. I kind of doubt Miami would go for just this but who knows?

Like every Twins fan I am disappointed in the final outcome. They had a chance, but it was to no avail. Personally, I enjoyed the season, particularly the second half. Strikeouts killed them. Pitching was very good. Overall bottom line is the team exceeded my expectations and I can't be upset about that. I think the core is in place to do even better next year.

Twins Minor League Report (9/24): Saints Come Marching In
USNMCPO replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
That will be a really difficult decision and I just don't think it should be. How long has it been since Buxton hit consistently? I know he is a leader on the team but he is not dependably a producer. The playoffs should be about winning and if Buxton can't get into a hitting groove with the games remaining he should not be on the playoff roster.- 8 replies

Until I had my knees done I had to get cortisone shots yearly. What i learned was that a good part of positive effect from the shot was whether they hit the exact right spot. For me, it was a crap shoot. Sometimes good but also sometimes bad. Also, there is a limit to how many (often) shots a person can get. We really haven't heard anything concrete about Buxton since his shot. My memory is that when the shots were effective I knew within one to two days. This has me wondering. Is the Buxton saga this year worth continuing through the playoffs? Will it even be a positive for the team? This team is not good enough to carry an extra weight in the playoffs.

Not sure i would have used Jax in this game. Another day rest could have been good for him. With a 4-0 lead against a team that appears to be looking forward to vacation I might have used Floro or Funderburk.

I was concerned about Jax entering this game. He pithed two days before then warmed up to come in the day before then pitched again. Perhaps, Rocco should have used someone else.

Can Byron Buxton Actually Get Healthy?
USNMCPO replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not sure I agree with your conclusion. His track record says otherwise. -
Perhaps this is becoming Lewis' team right before our eyes. CC4 is a great player but injuries are slowing him down. Buxton, I fear, will never be healthy.

The Case for Moving Brooks Lee to First Base (For Now)
USNMCPO replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I don't necessarily disagree with this statement. However, I am old enough to remember a certain team in 1987 that wasn't good enough either. The team has hitters that have under achieved for the year. That does not mean they are unable to regain their form. This team has two starting pitchers who can put the team win their back along with another that is lights out right now. I know I am being too optimistic right now but stuff can happen. -
i read the headline that Lewis was great again and my first reaction how in the heck did I miss Royce starting a rehab assignment. Oh well.

My biggest concern is that there does not seem to be a viable plan for how to get out of this quagmire. Age old remedies seem to be discarded. The number of called strike threes is awful. Protect the plate when you have two strikes. Just make contact. Spray the ball around to all fields. Quit guessing. Let the ball get deeper before swinging. Has no one on the Twins ever heard these?

Is it just me or is Brooks Lee scuffling a bit? There seem to be quite a few hitless games lately. I know players performance will ebb and flow during long season but hopefully i am wrong about Lee.
