The Twins have not been amongst the healthier teams the last two years. The are in the middle. Injuries do have an effect on team performance. Atlanta losing their starting rotation is probably the best example. The Dodgers are not the best team i baseball with so man of their starters out. The Yankees are a wild card team with Cole being out. No team is so deep that having the frontline players injured does not affect them.

Yup Nick nailed it when he said that they can’t blame injuries., People must believe it did not matter the least bit that the ace of the pitching staff has been on the 60 day IL, the touted on these pages as a Cy Young candidate pitcher is also on the IL, because the next 2 men up Festa and Mathews are going to be stars an uninjured.

Zach Neto is the only position player in that draft’s first 2 rounds to have a double digit B war Roman Anthony was taken late in the second round. That was 44 position players after him. Trying to project players they can only judge by the talent level the have played against. Projecting the future is a guess.

You overlook that maybe the talent wasn’t there to be developed. Drafting is a crapshoot. Who did this regime miss out on that was obvious

Correa is soon to be 31. With middle infielders it seems that is whe some start the decline. The other possibility is he is plying through something minor that is hampering him. The other real possibility is he needs glasses

2019 playoffs, Ryan would have been set up to Rogers. The games were lost long before they were needed.

The prospect in a return for Larnach would depend on the skill of the scouts to identify a talented player that the other team does not seem to recognize. Larnach has been a just above replacement level player. Mabe in a different system he would make that final development, but the team is more likely to to get a Dietrich Enns than a Joe Ryan

Nobody ever said they had to be traded for someone in the everyday lineup.

It is incompetent to think a contending team is going to remove someone from their every day lineup to trade for their bullpen. That's counter-productive. If they are demanding that in trades....they are absolutely incompetent. those were your words that you are now saying you never said

I did not say to do nothing. Try again without inventing a position for me. The goal of trades is to get an impact bat. That is something that you derived them for. The trade Milwaukee made for Contreras and the Rays for Arozerena show that it can be done.

I am trying to tell you the notion that they can get an impact bat through trades. I am telling you that you need to do your homework on the results of trades of players like Jax and Duran. I can also now tell you that you probably aven’t done your homework on outcomes for top 50 prospects

You apparently haven’t seen the outcomes of the players traded who were are at the level of those mentioned in the article. Funny how Tampa can trade for impact bats ad the Twins cannot

They are poor comps as prospects fail. It is not incompetence to want known quantities. The Ryan for Cruz is the anomaly. The trades that ave netted a good player involve an consistent all star level player. That is not what the Twins have to trade. The unnamed employee is not incompetent.

Dear Falvey, You Can't Trade Away Joe Ryan
old nurse replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Just as you don’t know that he would have. The number of extensions made by this club should indicate they have a little bit of ability to negotiate deals with current players.- 41 replies

So that he signed an extension there when he wouldn’t here means that he would have signed an extension here? Okey dokey, can’t argue with that kind of logic.- 41 replies

Dear Falvey, You Can't Trade Away Joe Ryan
old nurse replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The only reason to trade him is that he wants to be elsewhere and will not negotiate for an extension. Then they would be wise to sell high. If next year he is having a down year his value goes way down Thing is that nobody knows anything about the situation. Fan sites write clickbait about trading for Ryan and people take it like it is something that is going to happen.- 41 replies

You posted a lot of words. Reality The Twins started with three very good pitchers for the top of the rotation. That will get you a top 10 rotation for the start of the season. That does not get you a good rotation for the season. They had nothing but question marks after the top 3. They did not have anyone close to being an eighth starter That is the reality Nothing you have posted disproves that

The Twins started with three good pitchers and question marks behind them. Your posting does nothing to disprove that. They have used 8 different starters i most of the recent seasons due to injuries or ineffectiveness Nothing having anyone for a number eight was a mistake. Nothing you posted disproves that. Minnesota entered as a top tier on the strength of the top 3 pitchers. The sorry state of pitching in general could indeed make them a top tier team with 3 starters. That still does not make for a great rotation What in the last few years would cause one to think the top 3 wouldn’t miss starts?
