    Baseball America did two articles last year on ranking teams drafting since 2012 The Twins were ranked 8th in the hitting article, 11th in pitching. Yes, the 2012 class was great. It is balanced out by the nothingness of 2013–16. The shortage of names on the list is balance out by the length of a career of a decent player

    Bader and Castro are the only 2 outfielders that the team control ends at the end of the season. They would be the trade for prospects players. They may be playing well enough to get a decent prospect, that is someone with an upside more than a low leverage reliever. In all of their deadline trades Duran ad Ryan have been the only 2 who have worked out. Bader and Castro continue their success, it may well lead to a trade even if the Twins are in contention for the last wildcard spot. They might actually get their third useful piece. Yes other prospects obtained have appeared in the majors, but not as sustained success for the Twins. If they trade from their plethora of prospects it is only because the team does not think they will be long term (the controllable years) starters.

    Cameron in KC has an ERA of 2 something but did get beaten up by the Yankees. Sawyer Gipson-Long just came back from TJ and was pitching to a low 4 ERA. They are ot worse than Festa. Might ot be ay higher ceiling tha Fester either

    They signed about 5 free agent minor league players in the last week. All wanted their chance. The it seems like the Twins do the sed Dow after the game more than others comment is being petty. You do’t know but you accuse.

    Zebby pitched to a higher FIP last year than SWR did this year. There is hope that he will pitch better the second stint in MLB. Likely he will.

    The manager does not make trades, he des t sed players up or down, nor does he draft or develop them. He is not the trainer nor the conditioning coach. The Twins’ problems are not anything he has control over. So no he can’t fix the problem nor could any other manager

    Nuance is lost here when it comes to pitching. When a Twins pitcher has thrown over 80 pitches by the end of the fourth, they don’t start the fifth. At around 85, they don’t start the sixth. The upper limit on pitches seems to be 100. Paddack seems limited to 80 so far. The bullpen might have a pattern of rest depending on how many pitches thrown over a given period of time for the higher leverage relievers. That would require actual work to follow that usage. College now has very specific rules on number of pitches and days of rest. It is not unreasonable to think the Twins do not have the same.

    Hunter Green’s pitch count was low enough that they let him pitch into the 9th inning. 104 pitches. The number of innings a pitcher goes is dependent on the number of pitches. The Twins’ pitchers would be pitching later into games if they were could induce whiffs on outside pitches like Greene was yesterday. Pitch counts are generally located at the bottom of the box score.

    Before last season Margot had a career OPS as a pinch hitter somewhere around .200. Expecting or hoping to do better was a mistake in scouting. It was a mistake to continue to use him as a PH. If the goal of the trade was a backup CF, the trade was neither a win nor a loss. If it was for how they used him, they should have done better. They took a contract off the Dodgers bankroll for a prospect 10 mil is a lot for a prospect. I guess we will have to wait and see if the hitting develops. If it doesn’t become passable then the trade is a win.
