  1. There was only one other time besides this season, that there was only two teams that had 90 plus losses. That season featured a 100 loss team. There were no really bad teams to pad the win totals/
  2. Not really that obvious after Sunday
  3. Many of the past Twins teams seemed like once they had their clinching celebration they quit playing with an edge. When your season's goal is a WC then party hardy. Jerry Kramer once said on the Packers that they would congratulate each other on clinching but there was no wild party. Winning is what you were supposed to do.
  4. I really could look up the article. I have done it in the past but the same people post the same things all over again so why bother. . When the study did the outcome of sacrifice bunting, the negatives which you post would be in that. They came up with the numbers. Note that I did not say that it was successful sacrifice bunting. just sacrifice bunting.
  5. The article took that into consideration. The title was not successful sacrifice bunting.
  6. Your chart does not account for bunting and the prevention of a double play. It does not prove that a sacrifice lowers the potential of scoring one run.
  7. Syayisic show that if you are playing for one run bunting increases the odds. It decreases your odds for three runs.
  8. Davey Johnson is somewhere having a meltdown because somebody forgot about him.
  9. The minor league pitching coordinator would likely come out of the Cleveland system. Why it would only be likely is that somebody has to want to do that rather than coach. The minor league coordinator would be likely a promotion for somebody. I would guess that minor league contract would run to the first of some month. They may have been hired but can't announce until that date. They may like the job Watkins did in Cedar Rapids and move him up as well as hire within for the lower levels like they did with him. Minor league hires are usually a press release that I have seen in November or December. I can't imagine there would be much noise over any other hiring.
  10. Those that do not see that Kapernik needs the right o-line, a play action offense, and a good deep receivers to be a productive qb isn't much of a football fan. Norv Turner has left the house. and there are not as many teams running that scheme. At times Kapernick looks like a top 10 QB, Then there are times he looks like Holly Neher's backup.
  11. Falvey has been considered an expert in pitching. There are his theories, not shared much with the public, on pitcher development. Barriers to that vision are going to be removed. Those that adjust to the new way, keep a job. Watch who goes, watch who stays. Pitching coaches, managers, and scouts have to buy into the system. The club does have a thing about loyalty. Falvey would have to understand that when he took the job, This off season will be the big change, even if it is only employee thinking.
  12. Carl Pohlad made a lot of money by taking over companies, gutting staff, gutting the company. I am sure he was careful about how he did it. Extra lawyers cost money. The only dollar bills he did not want were the ones he shared with Irwin Jacobs. I am fairly certain old Carl set up protection from employees in the 80s and adjusted with any new labor laws.
  13. Major league baseball has never rot renewed a contract nor told a coach or manager that they were done after a season was over.
  14. You are making a big leap thinking that there are written rules on that.
  15. I would doubt that there would be an HR rule that states you can't tell someone there contract is being renewed. I doubt there would be a rule that states the contractor's immediate supervisor can't tell the controctor their contract is going to be renewed.
  16. One side may indeed have a lot to hide. They hide the negative side of the employee that they did not renew the contract of. They are doing him a favor. There is no reason for the FO to torch him. They chose not to renew a contract, That is all the more information that there needs to be
  17. 2015 Rosario had steady time after may, Sano came up that year after May. Anybody else of the young group of position players were starting AA that year.
  18. There really is not much difference someone going to the media to talk, somebody answering the phone when the media comes calling and talks at length. In both cases when the focus is on issues, grievances and the like it is both ways is the same result,. A one perspective story with an ax to grind is the same regardless of who initiates it. When the media calls you, you can always say no.
  19. Fan with bias versus official scorer grading an out of town team. Nik Turley had one wild pitch, nobody else has a wild pitch while Castro was playing, nobody had passed ball. There is plenty of room there to wonder what you were watching.
  20. Hicks basically has been on the dl since June. Not much to update unless he is stalking Hicks going to physical therapy.
  21. He was told his contract would not be renewed. Not fired, dismissed or anything nefarious. If he was told days, weeks or months before the contract was over it really does not matter. In baseball employment there is no way he falls into a protected class. With free will employment in both Minnesota and Florida there really does not have to be a reason.
  22. Thyrlos was making HIPPA an issue. So what if the contract ran to whatever date. There is no obligation to renew it.
  23. In the league they are the fifth or 6th best team. Unfortunately, the drop off between 4 and 5 is significant. In a one game do or die anything can happen. In winning a 3 game series, the odds would be very long.
