  1. There is a 13 man bullpen because there are so many starting pitchers not even pitching 6 innings.
  2. Then there is the other factors that seems to escape people. Roster size and the number of games a pitcher can pitch in. Single factor analysis is poor analysis.
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/misc/li/ Edit: you can find Fangraphs' description of LI at this link.
  4. Although every situation is a leveraged situation, 0.33 is low leverage
  5. The leverage index when Boshered entered was 0.33. Low leverage.
  6. If you repeatedly have a pitcher warmed up just in case you will blow through your pullpen every day because it is not common practice to repeatedly warm up a pitcher. . No win scenarios for the manager.
  7. The people here can set up all of the no win scenarios they want on Molitor. At time when behind Molitor uses his lower leverage relievers about 20 pitches each sort of like a bullpen session. The complainers here have yet to post who was warmed up in the bullpen in the event that Boshers did not get 1 of 2 lefthand hitters out.
  8. Yup I knew that my statement was based on information after the fact. as are the complaints about the pitching.
  9. I am not sure what Molitor's core principles are. Perhaps you can PM me a reliable source for that position. Boshers may be older but at 81 IP in major league ball I wouldn't call him a veteran. In pitching mostly low leverage situation I would think they are still trying to develop him.
  10. If you do not think anyone on this thread had no problems I would ask that you reread the thread.
  11. There in no hperbole on my part, the other guy is the one who demanded perfection. I merely pointed out what was not obvious. There is nothing saying that Busenits would have fared any different than Boshers. Jay Bruce is hitting well, Carlos Santana, At 20 pitches Busenitz would still be able to pitch the next day when needed (Gibson) Had Busenitz let in a run the complaints would be along the lines of Molitor leaving him out there too long. Either way the point is moot. The Twins were batting feebly 12 K, no bb, 6 0 fers
  12. In a league that the hitters average less than .700 ops, 805 is good. If qualified, it would be the 25th best. In all of A+ ball there are 120 out of the 792 with an ab younger than 22. 180 22 years old. Rooker is not old for the league.
  13. How many relievers have an ERA of 0? Every manager is worthless because no reliever has an ERA of 0
  14. Garver has a .341 babip As Garver is not known for his speed that number will drop like a rock. A .230-.240 average is far more likely. Net difference over 50AB would be 2-3 hits more, maybe one for extra bases.
  15. Freeze at 3b and Sano at first<< Mauer and Sano
  16. Playing to win the series. I guess Molitor did that with the Brewer series. Gibson pitches a dud, he has Gee lined up to go long. The small sample size was showing far too much good contact. Had Enns been left in the second guessers would be berating Molitor for leaving Enns in the game. If they need an arm they can send Enns down and call up a pitcher
  17. That much contact the batter wasn't being fooled by the pitches. A shaky debut doesn't mean much. It probably would have been better if his nervousness would have manifested itself as sweaty palms. Hopefully they go through with Enns on what he was doing right to get to the majors and not doing last night. He was doing something right in the minors as he had decent strikeout rates and consistent low HR/9 rates.
  18. One wrong pitch and it is six runs given up.. The probability of a pitch going over the middle of the plate increases it dramatically when the pitcher can't fid the edge like Enns was doing. There were very few swinging strikes. One game sample size. People shouldn't judge Enns from one game. Molitor has had plenty of games this year, and other years, to learn that when a pitcher's stuff isn't working to get them out of there.
  19. Bases loaded, the command and control pitcher can't find the strike zone and you want to win the game. The short leash was created by the pitcher. Gibson has been pulled early multiple times. How many of the call ups this year did the game get away? Enough that the Twins are not in first place.
  20. Cleveland and Arizona next week. Not as bad as Houston/Dodgers but not like facing the White Sox for a week. A week of angst followed by a week of hope.
  21. If the Twins went 30-10 over the previous 40 games Garcia would have never been traded for, Alex Meyer would have learned how to pitch, Phil Hughes and Glen Perkins would never have had injuries, Mauer would still be the Mauer of the first decade and catching, Along with every other less than optimal scenario that has develop over the last couple of years.
