  1. Any signings that year would still be 18 year olds in the rookie leagues. That would not impact the upper minors. It would be better to blame the 13-14 drafts for not producing anything quite yeat. Besides Hildenberger
  2. For anyone they signed for the same money the reaction would have been the same.
  3. You have to put an emoji or two so people know you are joking  But you can't post too many
  4. Rosario is suposed to be a good hitter. It is called development.
  5. There is no spin. Unearned runs have been that way for a very long time. That is the way it works. with ERA. The fielder makes the play, they are out of the inning. There is no implosion. FIP says the pitcher was unlucky in giving up single. Implosion would be a 3 run HR.
  6. Napoli has an OPS+ of 85. Suddenly Mauer and Grossman look better.
  7. A+ pitching might be the best pitching he has seen. Some claim average age to league is important. He is a little younger than league average. It is a head start for next year.
  8. When Walker OPS .745 in the larger parks of the Florida State League it showed was his potential would be
  9. Jeff Reardon was only a shut down closer once in his career. That was the 87 world series. He had a 4.48 ERA that year. Those are currently Belisle and Duffye type numbers. Joe Niekro provided a 6.26 ERA. He did them a favor being caught with the nail file. Kyle Gibson so far this year has provided the Twins what Niekro was to the 87 Twins. The perfect scenario worked out in 87. The muddled through the division, winning when they needed to. Beat a Detroit team quickly enough to set up their 3 man rotation for the World Series. That kind of scenario is rare.
  10. You need to check you statistics for the year comparing backup catchers and DH. Varga doesn't draw walks, strikes out way too much to be more than a AAAA hitter.
  11. Being up now would increase Slegers chance for success? AAA is not necessary in the development of pitchers? What starter with number three type ceiling came directly from AA?
  12. 3 weeks in AAA could be enough to determine if it is a bad idea to call him up for September hence failure at the mlb level is averted. A Semptember cal up would not have the same expectations as a August one so there would not be anything really attached to an unsuccessful stint.
  13. Enns will be up when the team has a better idea of how he pitches.
  14. On Molitor. I think the first part of the statements indicates Molitor is doing what they would like. If the FO brings up a bunch of young players over the next two months they would have specific plans for those players. That opinion is based on their comments of developing individual plans for those prospects. The second part on Molitor would indicate they intend to evaluate him on how well he carries those plans out. If they think he can not or will not carry those plans out, Molitor will be gone.
  15. Shortly after Colon signed there were some stories about Colon retiring after the first start. Falvey's answer seemed to indicate that had Colon done so he would not have been upset. I don't see any great commitment to Colon
  16. You listed a whole lot of players under 30. What you could not list is a list of players that shows they were wrong to use the players they did.
  17. So, no player over the age of 25 is ever supposed to play? That logic would also prevent the team from signing any free agents to augment the team
  18. No, my argument was that somehow you missed seeing the young players added this year. Young players is the word you used not rookies. Of course Sano , Kepler and Buxton are now just old, boring pos yesterday's news like Berrios. No. The Twins do not have any young players. That Rosario is going to be 26. Get that old fart out of here.
  19. Granite, Busenitz and Hildenberger say Hello. Mejia had but a cup of coffee last year. Polanco extended time. Felix Jorge got a cup of coffee this year, so you are right, no young players were added as the team will likely never see any of these players ever again because they fail so miserably
  20. They might have lost more games with a player that strikes out in every at bat
  21. The call for auditions. Then comes the Chris Parmelee syndrome
  22. A team that is 5 games better than the run differential is, of course, luck. It has nothing to do with the manager.
  23. Manship is doing so well he is now pitching in Korea. Hendicks had one good year, but this year has an ERA approaching six. Duensing is doing a great job as mop up man. His leverage index being 0.7o, just slightly higher than Breslow for a comp. Swarzak bounced through 2 different organizations before having success this year. He fetched the Brewer's 17 best prospect. That is similar to what the Twins have received and Bonnes essentially said was worthless.
  24. You can shuffle the holes with trades, but you will still have holes. Considering the need for a front line startre and two back end relievers, where was this going come from? That Levine wiggling his nose like Samantha Stevens?
  25. Listed as optioned on the transaction pafe, on the 40 man http://m.twins.mlb.com/min/roster/40-man/
