  1. Because that is what people do on message boards. He has been their second best hitter by woba.
  2. Maybe they want to bring up Cave.
  3. Latest listing had him at .067
  4. Anibal Sanchez pitched 6 innings of shutout baseball against the Cubs versus Darvish 4.4 innings and 4 runs in the battle of would be and wanted Twin. I would postulate that being released by the Twins relit a fire in Sanchez so far this year.
  5. 8 games and nothing. Another Twins signing a bust free agent. Maybe when his body warms up, the eyes and the bat will.
  6. 4 games each for Chargois and Bard. 1 for Kinley, 2 for Moya. Not much to go on Think of the lights out bullpen would have been as Belisle has yet to give up a run this year. Take that for the small sample size judgements. Give it some time and see what happens. Vargas has yet to strike out in a game for Rochester....
  7. When they signed Lance Lynn I think that could have been a sign the did not expect Santana back anytime soon.
  8. I would guess that there are always going to be players who think their value is greater than what it is and use players who play a different position to justify that viewpoint. All it takes is one GM to have a similar opinion. Dozier will use Blackmon's contract when perhaps Fowler's or Cain's contract at 5/80 would be a better barometer.
  9. Starling was an 18 year old position player when drafted. Not uncommon not to pan out. Not uncommon for the number 5 pick not to pan out. The Royal with their track record at the number 5 pick should lowball the guy so he does not sign as they had better luck when they picked 6th. They might really want to think about not drafting at all as the last draft they had that worked was 2008 Hultzen was derailed by his shoulder, not lack of talent.
  10. http://natsgm.com/2017/05/10/scouting-tyler-watson-lhp-hagerstown-suns/
  11. Watson got 400K as a 34th round selection. Hardly measly. There were top 100 selections that signed for less that year. He signed for what he would have got were he not thought of as an unsignable. dfat pick
  12. When the choice is Rochester or Chattanooga the weather in Minneapolis is irrelevant. It would take quite the disaster for Gonsalves and Gordon to be in the majors in May. Featherston and the washed up vet may be the emergency backups at this point. Even if they are not Gordon could just as easly be called up from anywhere.
  13. The question was why Chattanooga not Rochester. This has nothing to do with Minnesota
  14. Romero still likely has an inning limit and a shot at pitching in September or October with some good fortune.
  15. Colder and wetter in Rochester in April and they want these guys to play?
  16. Given the very small sample size that you are calling on for your measurement the difference between number 10 and 20 might not be statistically significant, The ievents that affect the outcome (RP in a save situation) are more than just the pitcher.
  17. The place I saw it made it sound like the Yankees wanted Stanton to just DH
  18. Aaron Hicks to the dl with a right intercostal strain.
  19. It would appear that one is not suposed to have a notion that you develop the players to their fullest extent
  20. KATOH seems to like Granite You can think his role whatever you want, other projection models say different things. If there is talent yet to be developed the fifth outfielder role will not do.
  21. Granite's 2017 at AAA was a fluke and the .611 MLB ops was the real Granite. If that is the case you should want a better backup than Granite. If he is a developing player with a few things to work on, then he needs to be in AAA playing every day. The guy on his tail is Wade. There are no other prospects at AAA. Nor AA
  22. You are using sire in the archaic use. To many archaic uses of words would not be what they think of. You are looking for the unheralded stud player.
  23. They might want Granite to be playing every day to start the season.
  24. They would know him from his days in Cleveland. I would guess that Washington signed him for a reason when he was a free agent last winter.
