  1. This seems like a projection. Do not mind it, but have concerns here. Could work out, but is that what the Twins want from there last high pick(hopefully for years)
  2. My best guess is Tonkin back to Rochester.
  3. Nice update, Is there a new ranking behind the paywall?
  4. He will probably get another chance. Marlin job is very tough, bad owner.
  5. Will save Rosario for a while. Expect Shaffer will be DFA'ed if Hicks continues to hit. Expect then that Rosario will go back to Rochester when Arcia comes off the DL. At least we have a great defense outfield for the late innings in Rosario, Hicks and Robinson.
  6. I believe Rosario back to AAA when Robinson comes back. Bernier to AAA when Nunez returns. Both Stauffer and Nunez will probably get rehab assignments so we will have to see. Would guess that Tonkin goes to AAA when Stauffer returns, but would like to see Oliveros get a chance. Believe that Tonkin is an AAAA pitcher, so would not mind to see him go.
  7. No to Bradley, Twins need to flip a starting pitcher or two, but not for a suspect., which is now what Bradley is. Would rather make a multiplayer deal for an ace, who we could sign(Cueto anyone). Twins have lots of spare parts and upper level talent, so to trade some of it would want a big return.
  8. Twins can probably afford a big swing and a miss, though this will be their last top 10 appearance for years, so should probably not take it. I am of the BPA thought, but you can never have enough pitching, so tend to lean that way. Sure thing pitchers in this draft, do not seem to exist, so hopefully twins take a SS or an outfielder.
  9. More likely if Hu pitches well, he goes back to Chatanooga to continue working on pitching. That is what I expect, he has little to show at Ft. Myers.
  10. Thielbar to start, Twins have some other lefty relievers or righty relievers with stuff(Oliveras) to fill in for now.
  11. I agree it is time to cut bait with Duensing. Let's start bringing up the new blood
  12. Think I will consider this season a success if 2 of the 3 above(may, Pelfrey, Nolasco) are not in the rotation at the seasons end because of better preferances from starters coming up. Hope Nolasco and Pelfrey show enough to bring a return in the form of prospects from another club. Many clubs should be looking for starting pitching at this time.
  13. Gonsalves - cannot see him not making the major, most lefties get several chances and worst would be a LOOGY. Thorpe - Should be lower until next year or two years to prove he is back Think Rogers should be lower and Duffey higher just because of upside. Could see Kepler cracking the top 10 by the end of the year.
  14. Too early, this will work itself out over the next few weeks. earliest trades would be done is this winter.
  15. Hicks worked hard to find his way into Molitor's doghouse. Molitor was one of the most prepared professionals to play the game, if your head is not in the game, then you will not be playing for the Twins. I believe it is not the stats, but the issues in Hicks's head that are keeping him in Rochester. That may take longer than most posters think to fix. It could be Hicks's future is not here, but do not want to give him away without a chance(read Carlos Gomez). Some players just take longer to figure things out. This was the major knock on Bill Smith, he deferred to Gardy way too much. But Terry Ryan has the problem of (if Hicks is going to be in the doghouse for having his head not in the game and Molitor does not want to use him then what choice does Terry Ryan have). Hicks has very limited trade value at this time and I do not want a repeat of Carlos Gomez given away. Make sure Hicks understands the game before he comes to Minnesota.
  16. Phillies would want a lot for Hamels, and if Sano or Buxton were not included might be 2 or 3 of the Twins top 10 minor leaguers. That would be too much for a pitcher that is over 30. And I like Hamels
  17. Do not know if Pinto was going north, though the conclusion is that he was. Twins minor league coaches and managers file reports on players every week, and Terry Ryan was just in Rochester a couple of weeks ago, if they thought he was ready, Pinto would be here. Point is here between the lines the Twins do not trust Pinto as a catcher. He will only be up when that changes or Vargas plays his way back to Rochester.
  18. Pinto is in Rochester to work on his catching skills, not his hitting skills. There is a lot more to that than many people realize. Is the catcher willing to call for a pitch that could end up in the dirt in a critical situation? Will the catcher mix pitches well with a speedy runner on first? Can Pinto call and manage a game in the way the Twins want it done? Twins are not a strikeout staff, unlike Kansas City were Pinto may be able to work because the pitchers have overwhelming stuff. My take is that the Twins have not seen enough progress to bring Pinto up.
  19. I am guessing at midseason or September. Remember the problems with Hicks when he was rushed. I guess he makes Rochester in June and then we will see after that
  20. If he keeps pitching this way, will be in Chattanooga by midyear. Could help the Twins by 2016 -2017. Hoping the Twins are just going to pitch Nolasco to establish value and then trade him this year or this winter. need to clear the space for better pitching.
  21. Twins are taking the long term approach. If Hicks is to be useful, he needs to eliminate the mental mistakes(that is more of an issue to Molitor than his hitting). Players without their heads in the game, cannot be at the major league level. Give Hicks until July and then see what the decision is. Rosario is probably a short term callup until Arcia returns. Do not read a lot into this. The plan for Rosario is to make him want to be here and improve his play until he forces his way here. The better question is which of Arcia or Vargas gets squeezed out in the long term.
  22. The Twins need to give most of the prospects more time. If Hicks fails one more time, he will go into the bust category(maybe not should be, but rushed was too much for him). Earliest I can see one of the (Hicks, Buxton, Sano, etc) up here is midseason. Rosario is up just to give him a taste of the big leagues before he is sent back when Arcia returns. Do not rush the prospects(I know it is hard to wait), but pitchers seem to do better rushed than hitters. Patience. Like many older players, Hunter's bat seems to be coming to life as the weather warms up.
  23. I could see flipping Vargas for Pinto. That should happen end of the month. Vargas needs to see more pitching at the higher level (AAA) than not helping up here. Rest should wait until the middle to end of May for changes. One bullpen spot might change (TR is in Rochester this week), but that would be the extent of it. Boyer is the pitcher I would let go and bring up one of choices from Rochester(mine would be Oliveros).
  24. Taking one of the two pitchers that have had TJ surgery is a risk. Twins are now at the point in their system with not a consensus talent this year, I would role the dice on Aiken, depending on his meds. More top of the line pitching.
