Should the Twins Try Their Own Bullpen Brother Act?
Fatbat replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It cant hurt to have another arm in the pen. Also seems like Lou is gonna get a chance to start. He can always be moved to the pen if starting doesn’t work out. -
Considering the cost of future money, why haven’t the Pohlads built contracts like this? Buy the best players and pay them later, after they have won the WS when the fans show up for year two and buy all the merch.

@jmlease1 Everyone will be healthy and a potential allstar until they aren’t. Its nice to have actual playable depth in AAA also. The FO really should focus on pitching!!

I can see why the FO can cut payroll. We have only lost Gray(that really matters)so we can literally do nothing but send in the next man up and let it shake out. Not that it would be fielding the best team possible but this 26man can win alot of games. Sometimes less is more.

Is the Twins' Austin Martin Ready to Drive?
Fatbat replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Comparing Martin’s skill set to anyone available to bring into the organization, the biggest negative for Martin, is no MLB time. The Twins NEED everything that is in his tool box, they just need to trust that his game will play on varsity. With the stacked farm system that we have, its a waste to not get him and others that will be ready this year and next to the big show. If that means by 2025 that Polo, Kep, Gordon and Farmer are gone, thats ok because we have guys with better skills coming. Save $$$ from those salaries and buy pitching.- 47 replies

We have a lot of internal options to replace Pagans innings. Wouldn’t it make sense to acquire as much high leverage innings as possible? Maybe that guy is already in the organization? I bet one guy comes in from another team but no idea who it will be tho. How many of our guys are going to driveline this winter? If even one guy develops into 6-7th inning stopper by throwing a new pitch or better sequencing, we will have a better bullpen. It always seems to be some guy out of the blue that has a lights out season.

Jorge Polanco Drawing Increased Trade Interest
Fatbat replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
The twins will be a much different team without polo if he does get traded. Any info out in the rumor world about who is asking about him and what they are offering? -
Carlos Correa Can Make Up the Difference for the Twins
Fatbat replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
A healthy C4 turns 15 of the gidp into rbi singles or doubles. Just that would have made ‘23 an average season for him. I’m not even worried about ‘24. He will be healthy and thriving at the plate. -

I’m excited about all these young arms and Its a nice list. I’m most concerned about SWR stalling out. He is still young so if the maturity kicks in this year to a degree, he could be the next Varland or Jax. Festa, culpepper and Lewis in 2025/26 might make us the next Miami rich in young SP.

Who Will be the Twins' Utility Man in 2024?
Fatbat replied to Hunter McCall's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If 2.4 happens again, great!! He could be a long term asset or he could regress. Its gonna be exciting watching him if indeed he is for real and sustains his breakout season.- 39 replies

Who Will be the Twins' Utility Man in 2024?
Fatbat replied to Hunter McCall's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I hope they roll with the hot bat and glove. Some guys regress and others figure out the constant adjustments and growth that is needed for a long career. As they say, the cream rises to the top. I do agree that we should have 2-3 utility guys because of the fragility of un named vets.- 39 replies

Buying Luzardo seems like we would have to out bid other teams so we pay a premium to boot. Not a great plan. Get another guy with a lower price and longer team control- 40 replies

The Twins Daily Table Setter: December 7, 2023

Some good nuggets in your story. MAT will probably get a 2 yr $15M deal from someone but it wont be us. Another good young pitcher would be awesome. Even if it took him 2 years to become a Pablo sidekick. I hope the Twins pick the right guy and they don’t overpay.- 40 replies

I see the biggest problem with winning games in ‘23 was that we played guys that weren’t healthy. Bucks knee hurt and he sucked playing with pain. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE DL. If his pain is gone with the last surgery then he has a very good Allstar potential season ahead (until he gets injured). Correa played thru pain for months and sucked with RISP. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE DL. If his health holds up in ‘24, he has another Allstar weekend ticket. If Ryan would have gotten treatment for his minor injury instead of hiding it, we could have played a healthy albeit not as talented SP. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE DL. If Ryan pitches like he did before he got hurt. He may get a ‘24 Allstar weekend ticket. Why they trotted out injured players to lose games instead of giving them time off is ridiculous. Why they stuck with Gallo deep into his slump was ridiculous. in ‘24, if we just add some solid role players, we will have plenty of depth. We have enough developing AAA talent to break glass incase of emergency as well. Mgmnt has to learn from the mistakes of ‘23. Players get hurt and need time off. If they are hurt. Heal there bodies even if you hurt their ego. As fanatics, please stop saying players suck because they get hurt. Injuries happen. Its more of an injury mgmnt issue. Stay healthy boys, we got a WS to go win.

The Twins Daily Table Setter - December 6, 2023
Fatbat replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think it can only go up if say AZ signs a QO guy. AZ might lose a pick just ahead of us? Other wise, once the QO guys sign, our 2nd round pick and comp B may move up if the signing team loses their 2nd rounder. (I think) but then if they are signed for over $50M then the team that lost them slots in around 33ish? -
The Twins Daily Table Setter - December 6, 2023
Fatbat replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I have a question, If the Twins picked up a rule 5 guy, would they lose the 33rd pick or the 2nd round pick?
