2 yrs ago they sold their car dealerships for $900M. They must have been $899M in debt in that business 😂 its absolutely true how the 3rd generation can spend generational wealth and end up broke. depending on the teams budget constraints, they could buy some star power, mix it in with 3-4 impact rookies then watch all the winning going on. Thats what Falvey is selling right now.

Great takes for sure. I don’t know who has options but if the FO has the ability$$$ to buy FA’s, I would imagine they will bring in a few for the season and other spring training fliers to try and find some bullpen help. Rule 5 tomorrow will be interesting! I’d bet they have their eyes on at least a few guys and will pick one of them if available.

If those adjustments work. Pencil him in! But why couldn’t the Dodgers figure it out for him? Its just weird! I heard that Falvey is looking to add a big bat in free agency as well as Rys Hoskins or something like that. How many adds to the 40 man have to happen to dfa outman or julien or gasper …. Or do they first option Kreidler and McCuster types? looking at the 40 man… It Is A Mess!!!

I agree with most of what you say. I think the Stewart trade for outman was hoping a change of scenery could bring back outmans rookie production but that didn't happen last season. It would be great if he came back and lit it up this spring and took his spot in the OF. Julien is definitely in the exact same career path spot. Many of us were huge fans of his rookie campaign. It just has gone really bad since then. I understand how and why the org will give them a chance to seize a daily opportunity but the odds are stacked against them. If the next wave of kids GG, ERod and WJ are lights out in spring training, how and why would you not just make the change for opening day. Find a team that needs a 4th or 5th OF/IF and trade both outman and julien for cash to buy some baseballs and go young. If the kids are ready, then play them in MLB. See what the future is.

I disagree. If there are rookies tearing it up like LK did last April and they are 5 games over .500 by 5/1, attendance will creep up with good weather. Winning and hope of watching young stars in the making always improves attendance. Some 29yo that fans don't even know that he is on the bench and hitting .184 occasionally because he needs to be hidden depresses attendance, hope and hype. La Tortuga and Arraez brought fans to the stadium. Outman, Gasper, Julien and other AAAA guys absolutely depress attendance.

There is also John Klein age 23 that is now on the 40 man and projects to be somewhere in the ‘26 Twins bullpen. He may never be a super star but he shouldn’t be overlooked either. We do have star potential all over the minor league system. The next 3 seasons all could have excellent rookie classes in both quality and quantity!

It will be interesting what happens after the draft lottery. If we get a top 3 pick and the draft goes well in July, (deep college age talent) the FO may get 2-4 guys that are only 2 years away from MLB. At that point, do you sell off the current core in total or maybe 1 or 2 of them? Lets just say Jeffers, Buck, Lopez, Ober and Ryan are all having a very nice solid season but we are scraping by at a .493 win %. My guess is they all get traded out and the team gets a whole reset. There will be plenty of clubs looking for a guy to add for their playoff runs. Now lets just say that the Twins are 10 games over .500 at the trade deadline and a nice rookie crop is contributing to what seems like a quick rebuild, will the FO buy some more immediate MLB talent or will they be content and wimper out by just missing the playoffs or lose in 5 games to the Blue Jays or Yankees? And then we cycle right back into the middle of the pack of almost contenders for another decade….

Twins Awarded Comp B Pick in the 2026 MLB Draft
Fatbat replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Placing hatred for the Pohlads aside, I hope we get a hall of famer with this years pick(s) … just so he will force the Pohlads to spend $$. -
Thats a very young group of guys on the roster. Prepare for speed bumps!

Left Field Could Surprise Next Season
Fatbat replied to Cody Schoenmann's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
They will be fine as OF #4, #5. The question is who will be the starting LF? Hopefully someone that produces a couple of WAR and is ops+ 120. -
They (7) can all go. Maybe a few more but the FO wont. I would venture to bet that we draft a rule 5 guy or 2 so we can evaluate more (younger fringe) talent in spring training. Maybe they will catch a diamond in the rough. There is probably a Willi Castro type thats out there on waivers right now that will be a headline signing soon. Oh the possibilities!!! 😂 None of these seven should be on the opening day roster if we want to be taken seriously.

Great ideas to integrate some key FA’s into a roster that is a mess with AAAA guys. Any FA signing has to obviously be a bargain price and outperform his contract. That is hard to come by. We also need huge contributions from a FEW rookies because the bench is so short. ‘26 is going to be a year of growth and growing pains. Many many things have to go right for the Twins to be competitive and get back to relevance in the AL central.

Im intrigued by Roden getting a shot at 1B. Also, how please don’t play half the list. At all. In an MLB outfield. Its time to play the prospects. Jenkins, Erod and Gabby. Buck/Wallner and the 3 kiddos would make a nice OF rotation.

3 Recently DFAd Players Minnesota Twins Should Pursue
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Rortvelt just isnt very good. There are a lot of almost MLB catchers that can equal his production. I view Lowe as someone the Twins expected Kiriloff to become.- 50 replies

3 Recently DFAd Players Minnesota Twins Should Pursue
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sign them all up. Lowe at 3yrs $22M would put an end to talking about a void at 1B. Both pitchers would likely stick to the opening day roster. Easy to DFA the AAAA types.- 50 replies

Across the roster, including these guys, the chance of a trade is low. All these guys will be back as ‘26 core players
