Twins (Matthews) vs Tigers (Paddack): 8/5/25, 5:40pm

Blue Earth MN. There is a museum there now. We used to haul cattle to the livestock auction back in the 70’s and would try to get dad to divert his route so we could see the giant. -

So much for stashing LK in AAA and developing him correctly. Lets just let Rocco wreck him while watching him hit DONGs. 🤣 -

He hit a 1st inning HR. -
Martin will stick around. He has defensive skills and speed. He might actually find a late blooming MLB bat and if he does, he will be our 4th OF/pinch running specialist for years to come. We need that. I can see where he will be a tandom as a 4/5 OF with GG or Erod to start ‘26. Thats if an actual MLB OF isn’t brought in from a different org or in FAgency. Miranda is lost and will likely live in AAA as depth or dfa’d. There are way too many young infielders coming thru the system that take his chances away. Clemons is a temporary block as well. Julien is an interesting talent. His defense hasn't gotten better and his MLB bat might just not be enough to stick and be serviceable. The org hasn’t failed these guys. They are simply fringe talent that has had shots and haven’t had prolonged results. Maybe that will change in the future but who knows.

A ROY chase in 2026 by multiple Twins rookies after a roster purge will put fans in the seats. Young, budding superstars is a great rebranding tool for new ownership.

MLB impact, doesn’t mean starting opening day ‘26. The names tho are Keaschall, K Culpepper, G Gonzalez W Jenkins…. Maybe Erod. At least 2 of them will hit their ceiling during their career and be considered superstars. There are others younger and they WILL be right behind them. On the pitching side, I don’t think anyone will be a massive contributor before mid season’26 but Preillipp could be the next Frank Viola type lefty that will impact the rotation next season at some point. I don’t know enough about the new kids from the trade so I wont say include them. you are correct when you say its in the quantity but its also quality. Plenty of quality in the system to make the Twins competitive in the next 2 years. The biggest holes to fill on the team are 1B ,SS and the bullpen. 1B will have to be filled externally thru a trade, probably take a Lopez or Ryan to get a young star quality 1B. Or use our first round draft pick in ‘26 to get a Nick Kurtz type college 1B kid. The larger point is, there is a clean slate and plenty of payroll available to build a winning team and probably quicker than some fans realize.

Yeah. 27 games played as a Saint this season. MILB doesn’t have a stats breakdown/game log. Just season totals

Hunter Hoopes goes undrafted by every MLB team. There has to be a back story as the why he signed as a FA with the twins and why no one else….

Some good points but the bone fracture is healed and has nothing to do with playing in AAA vs. MLB. It is definitely a lack of playing time tho. His UCL and fracture hasn’t stunted is talent, just his playing/develop time. The only prospects that I know of that were rushed was do to the lack of MLB talent because of injuries. Thats a whole different conversation. Development does happen at the MLB level, not just in the minors.

As much as I want him up yesterday, I also want him to crush it in the ROY chase in ‘26. I am betting that he has met with management and he wants the ROY as much or more than they do so he is in St.Paul and cutting loose. The dude is special.

Some things that fans may want to consider. Correa was an absolute drag on the team. His salary/performance was brutal. Although selling our 3 best RP’s among other assets stung, they are replaceable in time. The sale is definitely going to happen and it doesn’t matter if the new owners gave consent to the fire sale or not. It’s not there team yet. My assumption is that they want to field a competitive team and rebrand the organization as one of the best in MLB. That will be a gigantic undertaking no matter where the starting point is. Our minor league talent is now top 3 in all of MLB and has superstar studs ready to make MLB impact in ‘26/27. Total payroll doesn’t exactly matter much if you don’t pay $35M to a guy that is injured alot and can’t swing the he bat. Falvey is 0-2 in signing Donaldson/C4. He is 2-0 on dumping them early. Thats a wash. Its time to move on. Wish your favorite Twins that got traded the best of luck and wait for the next chapter in Twins lore. Good bye to the Pohlads and their wrong sized business acumen.

Is Keaschall being stashed in AAA to save his rookie status for 2026?

You do realize that Duran and the twins tech guys collaborated on that. He was involved from the get go so he owns the rights to his entrance video no matter where he plays. Its not like the twins were going to Durans song compilation/video when closer X came into a Twins game.

Twins (Ryan) vs Guardians (Williams): 8/1/25, 6:10pm
Fatbat replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Archived Game Threads
August is about giving time to AAAA to prove to themselves that MLB may just be unreachable in the future. September will be about the cup of coffee for the future kids without burning up rookie status. -

Another easily winnable games. Embarrassing. -
Great points! I didn’t consider that they could lose rookie status by spending the rest of the season in MLB. Maybe they will get a cup of coffee in September…

He is just hitting his stride. Probably be an allstar in 2026. On another note…. Mick Abel’s 2025 WAR = .4 C4’s 2025 WAR = .1
