    Not that $20M is going to buy them anything other than a total lower payroll. Hopefully the buyers offer is a good one and the Pohlads sell the team. Currently, there will not be a high profile FA signing or a blockbuster trade unless someone is dumb enough to over pay for C4.

    I like your baseline. Probably gonna be a trade or two along with a low level signing like France type…. Sabato will be exposed to rule 5. Please someone draft him. We are going to be young with K Culpepper, Jenkins and Debarge playing in AAA by June ‘26. Probs have 2-3 young pitchers knocking the door down for a cup of coffee also…

    We need to trade C4 to get any kind of salary relief and that has about zero chance of happening

    I see bad math.——> -33M + 19M + 4M=-10 M The original 19M for the arb players can’t be added twice because the first 19M of it is already accounted for. Now you have $10M to sign 7 guys from the $33M in lost salary.

    Yeah, it wasn’t a solo home run in garbage time. He kept his head down and drove the ball oppo taco. Then we won on a squeeze bunt. Every bit of that is small ball.

    There are a few guys ahead of Kyle Debarge that need to keep ahead of him in development or he will simple run past them. That kid is a down and dirty ball player. then there is Brandon Winoker. What a freak! When he dials in & lowers the K rate, he will be an absolute beast. Emma and Jenkins will stay healthy and make a statement in the 2nd half…. For the Saints!

    Just looking at the 5 guys getting picked ahead and behind the #16 slot, you could probably just shuffle them around and get similar results. Solid 2 way catchers is a highly skilled profile and there is definitely a lack of them in the profession so it will always be talked about and it should be a priority in drafting/development. If you swing and miss on a 1st rd draft pick at catcher, it’s different than drafting a Sabato or Cavaco type. It’s still the same in that its just one pick out of 19/20. I will die on the hill of taking a shot at a college catcher with 2 way skills over any HS SS or big hitting college OF with swing and miss and questionable defense.

    Promote anyone that can hit the ball. This MLB team is flat out boring. I agree with @Bigfork Twins Guy, Gabby looks like Kirby Puckett at the plate. We could use that kinda player in the show.

    I dont think Lee will sit just because Lewis is back. If Lewis is actually healthy now, he needs playing time to get back in the groove. Lee will get defensive games all over the infield and he can handle that. He just wont be at 3B every game but he will be there when Lewis is DH.

    Yes, he balked at learning a new defensive position in the middle of a season as would any player. Short sighted Mgmnt issues can cause careers to derail.

    Why does anyone care what Vasguez is paid? Shouldn’t we just be mad that he is taking up a roster spot that could go to a young backup? I guess his elite pitch calling means nothing because we could just pencil in anyone to catch every 4th day…. The pohlads wouldn't spend the saved $9m salary on actual talent. They’d just buy some artwork or something not baseball related….

    Im just hoping they find a Buster Posey type this year so we can enjoy some catching highlights over the next decade….

    Except when Lewis becomes super star baseball crusher again. Lewis isn’t a 34 yo has been…. He has just been injury prone

    Yeah, I am most excited about the depth this team has. I also think there will not be regression in Nailors game. We got so many weapons that need the ball.

    Hopefully LK comes back soon and has a rockstar 2nd half of the season and then the athletic kids in AA can make the big jump to MLB over the next 2 seasons. We will be flush with speedy athletes that can hit. Which is why we should draft catching and pitching in ‘25!

    Some great ball being played in the minors. A lot of summer left so we will see who keeps crushing the whole season. Fedko and Gonzalez are very nice surprises!

    @DocBauer I am most excited about the OL and DL. We should win the trench battle regardless of who we are playing. Our run game is going to be stronger than the last few years and by mid season we will have a 3 headed snake of WR’s because Tai Felton will be in the ROY talk. The DL is going to allow the rest of the D to play down hill. At this point, there are no holes to fill. Let the youngsters develop around the probowl vets and let’s score some D turnover points in every game.

    Agreed! They will snipe someone from a practice squad and/or from a cutdown list later.

    Probably wont be a big selloff. Several guys on expiring contracts so next year will look much different. Right now we are an organization of underachieving and injury. No one wants to buy in on that.

    We will need one of the guys in AAA or AA on the 40 man to step up and pitch like a 4/5 SP soon. We are giving up way too many runs lately.

    If Clemons produces even slightly above average when called upon, he will likely be the 26th man. Continued regression and he will be the 30th man.
