Agree completely and I’m sick of the Gallo approach. I also want to quibble about health. We wont win as many games without our best players on the field every day. Bring in the depth pieces as needed and they have to produce in situations. Rookies also need to be added to see what sticks but play ball the right way.

Should The Twins Be Investing In The Rotation?
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
and ‘24 when ownership right sized and we tanked in august. What did attendance end up at? You invest in the right players and that helps us make a deep playoff run and you could have 2.4M attendance total in ‘25. Nice mathing tho 🤓- 107 replies

Should The Twins Be Investing In The Rotation?
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
You are right that Arraez isnt coming back but some of us can dream of it. Lol. As good as our rotation can be, I still want another #1 ace. I’m selfish that way. Listening to guys on the twinfest circuit, I would bet that nothing happens with any trades or FA signings until ownership transfer is closer.- 107 replies

Should The Twins Be Investing In The Rotation?
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If Arraez brings an extra 250000 people to target center at an average price of $100/ticket or total of $200/person experience, does he really cost 14M?- 107 replies

The minor leagues should be the place to find a defensive position and stick to it but when you draft the best athletes at 19-21 yo, there isn’t always a clear path. Everyone has a unique path and I doubt that the twins’ developmental plans hinders any prospect. Martin is a curious case because he lacked defensive chops and power at the plate. He is very athletic but seems lost is some respects. Place that on him, not coaching/development. Kids can be stubborn. Look at some of the relatively recent failures from Cavaco to Balazovich. They have to figure out if they want to put the hard work in to make it or not. Contrast that with late rounders like Ober to Julien, I doubt they had any development advantage other than desire.

3 Potential Twins Trades for the Padres' Dylan Cease
Fatbat replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Vasquez, Paddack, Julien, CJ Culpepper and Kalai Rosario. 4 fringe long term MLB guys with upside. Cease and his agent should be willing to sign a long term deal. He will be getting a QO. New ownership will welcome the house cleaning and invest in winning. Cease signs 4 years $100M or so.- 88 replies

Should The Twins Be Investing In The Rotation?
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He is entertaining and on base every game. He isn’t expensive and he could be used at 1st base and DH this year. With a healthy Lewis, C4, Buck and Wallner batting behind him, he will score 100+ runs. He is far from perfect but he adds everything we need in our lineup.- 107 replies

Should The Twins Be Investing In The Rotation?
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Arraez would also make for a nice long term DH if the new ownership want to focus on base runners instead of underperforming HR hitters. Erod and Jenkins will be here very soon so I wouldn’t look for a replacement when Kiersey is already available in AAA to fill in as a short term starter and long term 4/5 OF. No more Margots are needed.- 107 replies

Should The Twins Be Investing In The Rotation?
Fatbat replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Its always time to invest in SP high level talent. If we sell prospect assets, it better be for more than 1 yr of control. Its taken a looooong time to get the pitching pipeline as full as it is so with a pending sale of the team, the FO wont do a blockbuster trade that could blow up and send them packing by new ownership. Its would seem that the trade deadline would be a better opportunity to flip assets as needed when all of a thousand questions/answers about the guys on our 40 man roster becomes more clear. Will we be in a pennant race? Will we be bottom dwellers? The FO has gotten Pablo, Ryan, Paddack and SWR via trades. The kids they have drafted are going to knock down the door as some point soon and be worth more once they are established MLB’rs. If some combination of Festa/Matthews/Adams/Raya/Lewis/Varland/Culpepper/Priellip/Soto/Hill/(insert name) take large steps over the next 24 months, we will be exporting some arms for any missing lineup pieces. We haven’t had these kind of long term assets on the farm, ever. Our Depth is long but is there an Ace or two on the farm? Is it time to invest in a guy like Cease? Sure, but at what cost?- 107 replies

I get the fact that we signed him expecting.275 and 20 hr. There was downside risk that we were aware of but he handles pitchers really well. He is an asset behind the plate and a liability with a bat in hand. Maybe he will regress upward and is traded out. Maybe he plays out his contract as a twin? At $10M, he doesn’t break the bank. He may even return a lottery ticket at the trade deadline or lace a game winning double in the ALCS for us. Its impossible to tell what ‘25 has instore but its likely to not be anything like ‘24.

CV won’t play 80 games and he might just be average but his defense is why he gets paid 10M. If he hit .275 with 25 hr’s. He would be worth more $. Saving a few $M in a trade probs doesn’t upgrade the position.

5 Burning Questions Facing the 2025 Twins Bullpen
Fatbat replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
There are serious questions but they have real answers. lets go with Stewarts surgery fixing his shoulder and he is lights out all season, WHoa!!! Castellano is servicable, Cool! We never have enough pitching. Henriquez takes a step up and sticks around all season. Really!!! Topa is healthy and back to ‘23 type stuff. Geeeezus!!!! Tonkin flys under the radar because the above guys are doing their thing. Hmmmmm!!! Sands pounds the zone and no one wants it more than he does. Ooooooof!!! Jax and Duran trade 9th innings day after day. Yada Yada!!!! That's the upside! Glass is full with 5 more guys knocking at the MLB door. Its not a sure thing but there is a chance that we actually have an elite bullpen. Its also very likely 5 things will go wrong with the best case scenario. But this year, we have real options in the pipeline.- 49 replies

It would be nice if we don’t waste bullets on below average vets that turnstile from team to team. Weather Preillip goes to the pen or Raya/Adams/Canterino, we need to get these young guys to the majors at some point and see who will stick. Every prospect has a unique timeline and Preillip isn’t any different. Its a little surprising that he has been dealing with the same injury for 4 years and it didn’t get fixed sooner. Hopefully its finally behind him and he gets his shot this season!

Trade Idea Framework .... Help even it out....

We would have better 1B results with playing Luke Keashall at 1B for 162 games in ‘25. At least he can grow into being a 1B man. -

Exploring Two Trade Scenarios for Willi Castro
Fatbat replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How about trade Paddack and Julien to Milwaukee for Hudson and a minor league lottery ticket and then sign Castro to a 3 yr 30+M contract. Gets the LHP and a 40man roster opening 🤷🏼♂️ -
If you have a horse or 3 that work on 4 days rest better than the others, leave the nags in the stable and ride your show ponys. More of a ranch than a farm saying. Is it just the velocity and spin rates that are blowing up elbows and shoulders or is a lack of offseason rest? Kids these days can’t seem to carry a full bucket of water without tripping….. ok that’s probably not fair 🤷🏼♂️

How much does it really matter if its 130 or 140 at this point? Dumping Paddack and or Vasquez is only a temporary solution because you still have to find upgrades and those are expensive. Seems like their value goes up mid season when another team has an injury replacement need and we have a clearer picture on how our young studs are developing.
