    The way they started the season, this truly would not shock me. That said, I truly do enjoy April fools day and the jokes it can bring. The article itself was outstanding :)

    Keaschall yes, Rodriguez soon, and I'd be VERY open to Festa or Zebby for Paddack now, with the other coming up soon. I'd like Jenkins get some time in AA before that decision is made, and I'd keep Prielipp in AA for a bit too lengthen him out. Overall, they need to add life to the lineup. Keaschall and Rodriguez would do that. I also agree that both Festa and Zebby are better today than Paddack.

    Ober’s velo was down, and even if at times it seemed he got squeezed a bit, his command was poor. That was not the 2024 Ober I saw today. Curious if he either isn’t built up enough or is fighting something. Plus, this lineup feels lifeless. Castro and Larnach both seem to have solid at bats. France has hit the ball hard in this series but a lot of balls hit at guys. Otherwise they are really missing a GUY. Nelson Cruz 2019 or 2023 Lewis helped this offense work. I would not be hesitant to add Keaschall and Rodriguez as soon as possible to inject life. I’m not saying by tomorrows game, but I don’t know how this lineup survives as currently constructed if they truly want Keaschall and Rodriguez to be in aaa for 2 whole months. Both would bring more life than a few options currently on the roster

    This is a good question. Based on just his injury history, when he made the comment this offseason I assumed he was saying more that he wanted to be able to finish out the contract he currently has in a healthy way. We all hope for that, obviously. IF this year is different, then we can see how 2026 goes (and HOPEFULLY there isn't a major lockout taking out 2027, but right now that appears potentially likely.) All of this to say, if he does have 3 healthy seasons upcoming (I don't know, I can't see the future, it is possible/plausible in some ways) then we see where he is at come 2028. With Jenkins and Rodriguez on the horizon, among other moves, he will have to stay healthy and produce.

    Just wanted to add, I think they'll need to be aggressive and ready to add prior to the deadline. Not certain what it will be yet, but injuries may make that answer more obvious. Hopefully ownership group, be in the Pohlads or whoever at that point, (but right now it looks like the Pohlads) will allow the front office to make a deal or deals that will help the team. Otherwise, if there is good luck with health, I think the rest will get sorted out.

    What is worthwhile then? A long reliever who can give you multiple innings in relief is worthwhile no?

    Not saying he will become great or anything, but aren't most relievers genearlly failed starters? Take a deep breath man. The last guy in the bullpen is not worth expelling so much energy over.

    1) They could still keep Castellano via trade if possible. 2) Castellano averaged a walk per inning this spring. That is NOT sustainable. 3) Dobnak looked ok this spring, and he can give you bulk innings. Early in the season that's ok.

    I wouldn't want to waste a young starter in the 8th man in the bullpen role who will no doubt be designated again when Brock Stewart is ready in a few weeks. And frankly, Dobnak looked ok this spring. Not the worst thing to have a guy in the opening weeks who can give you multiple innings. Plus, way more things to actually be angry about.

    Dan Hayes keeps saying that he is hearing they are watching the waiver wire to pick up someone else to start the year. That's my guess on who is the 8th reliever, someone not currently in the organization.

    I would be interested in keeping Castellanos because he could be put at AA in the rotation. He is only 23, and he did show some things as far as stuff that could be valuable down the road. I wouldn't break the bank in trading for him, but we know they've liked his arm for a time. I'm not trading for him to help in 2025, but but adding arm talent is never really a bad thing.

    You aren't wrong. LOTS of teams have health issues in their rotations to start the year. I could see Jordan Montgomery being moved to a team at this point too from Arizona. But lots of teams are dealing with injuries to their pitching right now. Knock on wood, but the Twins are fortunate in that regard for today.

    I can see this, Especially with knowing that you are probably going to use 15-20 guys in the bullpen (at minimum) throughout the year, then this makes sense.

    It always depends on what they get back. As I understand it, he has to go through waivers already to see if any other team would keep him on the 26 man roster. Decent chance he gets through, but you never know. After that, my guess is they will at least ask what Philly would need back right? Everyone has a price? It's not like we would be haggling over prime Randy Johnson here. I would think they could find a price that would be equitable for both sides. I just don't know what that is personally.

    I’m just the messenger. Both Dan Hayes and Matthew Leach have mentioned to expect a free agent addition to the bullpen. That’s all. And I would totally give a low level player to keep Castellanos. He was the Phillies minor league pitcher of the year, and the Twins have liked him for a while.

    I’d send someone, a hitter or pitcher, in the lower levels their way. I’d also send cash or ptbnl. Curious what they would want

    I only say waiver wire pickup because Dan Hayes mentioned that because it would make more sense to bring a new guy in, as that guy can be designated in a week or so instead of activating Blewitt (for example) and then having to designate him a week or so from now instead. And you can never have enough pitching. They like Castellanos

    Curious what moves are coming in the next few days... 1) Do they trade for Castellanos to be able to stick him in the AA rotation to start the year? If so, what is a fair trade? 2) Do they scour the waiver wire to pick up someone for the bullpen? My guess is they do that. If that's the case, is there someone that people like? I did see that Atlanta cut Jake Diekman; I'd be in favor of bringing him in while some of our relievers are on the mend. 3) Do they do something else completely out of left field, similar to the Taylor Rogers/Chris Paddack deal right before opening day a few years back? Thoughts?

    This and how fast the stadium gun is reading are two things I'd need to know about before jumping to any conclusions. But it would be nice to know for sure he can rebound a bit from 2024.

    With the injuries to some of the bullpen guys, I don't know that we need to make the decision before opening day on if he is still on the roster or not. I'd be fine with having him be only the mop up guy for the first month or so and see if things improve. It's not like they can't find another mop up type arm at AAA or on the free agent market in early May.

    I could also see a scenario where Royce is able to be 3b, but maybe he does start to play 1b at some point. Keaschall is on his way, and we will see what position he can take a hold of. It’s always possible that Lee becomes the super utility next year that Castro is this year, a full time player at 3b/ss/2b. But if any of them can take a spot and fully own it, great. It feels like a good problem to have
