  1. Who’s the guy in the ill-fitting leather jacket paired with Laudner?
  2. Of the things in this world that truly bum me out; this is not one of those. This is like PB4WEGO or Dominoes tater tots.
  3. Putting players in AAA with the objective of working on specific issues is not giving up on them.
  4. Unless injured or traded at the deadline, Kepler will be in RF. Sorry to disappoint.
  5. Not to be lost in the offense angst but Gray is pitching a whale of a game.
  6. You’re a model of consistency.
  7. Based on some statement by Baldelli it sounds like Ober will be around for at least one more start because of the lack of offdays.
  8. Kiriloff at 1st, Gallo in LF, Buxton at DH. Where does Larnach play? If/when Buxton returns to CF then Larnach has a spot.
  9. I understand Maeda is supposed to throw a bullpen session today. That should determine if he’s really ready for the Wednesday start. I like the chances here; wondering if Kiriloff makes it back for Wednesday as well.
  10. Right now it looks like Gallo is trying to usurp the throne.
  11. For people who are bored I have a long list of books I can recommend. By the way, happy Earth Day. Be nice if the Earth were happier, too.
  12. I would guess Castro is optioned when Kiriloff is activated, and either Miranda is optioned or Gorden DFA’d when Farmer returns.
  13. But having healthy and productive Polanco and Kiriloff at bats might. And maybe raise the quality of those around them. I look forward to finding out.
  14. Or auto-incorrect, as the case may be.
  15. Sounds like another starter will come up for the home stand regardless of Maeda’s status. Probably Ober, possibly Sunday. So either Maeda goes to the IL or somebody is optioned. For Polanco, really needs to be Julien to St. Paul so he can continue to play every day.
  16. In over a decade here I’ve never known this group to underreact to anything. It’s a mistake to think this team is the Bomba squad, and it’s a mistake some of the people on the team are making. This team needs to be more like the Piranhas, and the sooner they figure out how to do that the more successful they will be. The whole baserunning debacle is an area crying for vast improvement. And that’s equally a coaching problem and that group needs to adapt as well. The point of analytics is to understand and adapt to the context you are dealt; this team is capable of doing that but there’s only a limited amount of time to learn the lessons.
  17. It appeared during yesterdays game at Boston that the umps were checking all pitchers at the end of the half-inning.
  18. I suppose he could be activated as early as Friday for the home stand.
  19. Probably the most sensible post in the thread.
