  1. Apparently Hunter felt likewise, and took steps to avert it.
  2. Tommy Hunter. Not closer Zach Britton. Standard 2015 strategy.
  3. Home game versus being on the road. You may disagree with the strategy. But it's not random. Let's see what Buck does in the bottom of the 9th, assuming Perk holds them.
  4. No, it doesn't. You stupid git. Score is 2-2, CBU. I blame (quickly checks the box score) Duensing, no wait, Fien.
  5. And not a lot of love on TD for him, either.
  6. Didn't we warn you, he was a bit conciliatory today?
  7. DON'T GIVE ME THAT, YOU SNOTTY-FACED HEAP OF ORIOLE DROPPINGS! SHUT YOUR FESTERING GOB, YOU YANKEE! YOUR WHITE SOX LOVING TYPE MAKES ME PUKE! YOU VACUOUS TOFFEE-NOSED MALODOROUS PERVERT OF A ROYALS FAN!!! Oh! I'm sorry! This is the abuse thread.
  8. Oh well, his contract is guaranteed for only another 1.5 seasons.
  9. It's sort of interesting to have it go this way after our lengthy pre-game discussion of sacrifices.
  10. We told you once already, this is the Argument Thread.
  11. Sure, but that's such standard strategy it's hardly worth mentioning.
  12. Let's see: in a 2-2 split of the series, Twins starters went 26 innings and gave up 6 runs, Perkins pitched two innings and shut them out, and the rest of the bullpen went 7.1 innings and gave up 3. Prorated to 36 innings the non-Perkins bullpen was going at the rate of 15 runs. A league average pace would have been 17. Meanwhile in 4 games the Twins offense totaled 11 runs. A league average pace would have been, ummmm, 17. And some are going to assign blame for not sweeping to... the stiffs in the bullpen?
  13. But they're out of town checks, and people can't take a chance on... oh wait, it's a donation.
  14. Scott Atchison looks like... http://d3k2oh6evki4b7.cloudfront.net/images-014/headshots/2/210156b0_mlbam.jpg oh good lord, he looks like too many guys to narrow it down to anyone in particular. I'll go with "the foreman at the Waste Management substation who gave me grief the other day when I wanted to drop off one too many bags of pine needles." Though he could also be "Henchman #3" in the closing credits of an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. / bb-ref.com shows he has earned $4.523M in his career, so maybe I should just call him "Sir".
  15. Put me down for Pelf in the bullpen. Two stinkers in his past four starts, offset by one really good game. He seems like the obvious candidate at the moment when ESan gets activated.
  16. Welp, it's past this east-coast Twins fan's bedtime. Bring the win home for us, OK?
  17. Oh, sure, you glass-is-half-full guys and your half-full glasses.
  18. Could Zuke have scored from first on a triple?
  19. Our teammate picked #55. That was the Control Data character code (non-ASCII) for "blank". You had to be there, I guess.
  20. And if it comes back to you, it was yours all along?
  21. We have too many #9 hitters, for that.
  22. I chose #32, Koufax's number, when I played slow-pitch softball. I wasn't a pitcher, but I still anticipated many no-hit games for myself.
  23. Yeah, that math degree I earned in collitch really paid off, didn't it?
