  1. You don't come up with the idea to parody the Hardy Boys unless you have this going for you. In spades.
  2. Just barely enough, but Torii gets it done. 1-1, top of eighth, CBU.
  3. Torii up, man on third, one out: our best chance to score as yet.
  4. Why is it that when Danny Santana is on the TV screen I think of this? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51BNOoRyByL._SL500_SS120_.jpg
  5. The Moderator's Control Panel is subtle, and not easily interpreted by laypeople.
  6. Hicks' first AB: Yick. Hicks' second AB: Yeesh. Hicks' third AB: Yawn.
  7. Ish seems to be more physical than ick. Make a poop joke and you'll get the ish from ChiTown.
  8. I expected more from Hicks' season debut, too.
  9. The outlook will be brilliant for the Game Thread crew that day.
  10. Pro tip: poems do not all have five lines, and the last line is not always dirty.
  11. Julio Daniel Martinez puts the Tigers ahead 1-0 after four. CBU.
  12. No. Every single ball hit to the outfield, even to LF, or into the RF foul stands, is Torii's fault if the batter's not retired.
  13. It goes by another name: "dinner".
  14. Hunter having a little fun after Simon throws him a floater on 0-0. Not quite as much fun when he pops up foul to the catcher on a similar pitch 1-1. Score's 0-0 after two and a half. Your Circus Boy Update.
  15. RB tipped us off to expect good SS play from Iglesias, and he erased Santana with a nice play up the middle. Largely positioning, but it still had the earmarks of a clean single, and suddenly t'weren't.
  16. I think you're right, but it still doesn't speak well of his speed to not get home on a double with a head start. He did round third but got held up by the coach at the last second, and a faster runner would likely have been sent. It's really just my one gripe about Plouffe... he is SLOW.
  17. Same old Hicks. Flailing at pitches in the dirt. Never got a fastball, because he never proved that the pitcher needed to throw one. Just one at bat, but I expected a little better.
  18. Hey Halsey, how did you like Plouffe taking off from 1st, on an apparent hit-and-run,and STILL making it only to 3rd on a double?
  19. I guess Buxton might still have some of his bonus money available to pay for a billboard ad, if he wants.
  20. Why? His OPS is only .726 in AA. Oops, oh wait, that's his slugging average, alone.
  21. Heh, http://mlbstartingnine.com/ lists Hicks as batting right. Also, if the above lineup is correct, Suzuki bats between Vargas and Escobar, breaking up the sequence.
  22. They don't make a move without clearing it with the TD braintrust first.
