    Yes. When it's like that I usually check Yahoo News or some other big site to see whether it's a problem with my connection, but it's usually just TD being slow to respond.

    I have my Adobe Flash turned off in Firefox, and I still frequently get "waiting for twinsdaily.com..." for half a minute at a time. Then at other times (such as now) it's fast enough to suit me. A few weeks ago I might have thought we were getting the overflow crowd from healthcare.gov, but that shouldn't be a problem now...

    That can't be right; must be an artifact of how the spreadsheet was set up, dividing $1M by 4 for some reason. Everything else I've read has it as a $1M buyout for the fifth year.

    That Gardy will be your actual boss (with Rick Anderson as the project leader), and his boss isn't who you'll interact with much ? That "major league baseball player" isn't a job you find via craigslist? That your job involves people skills to a much smaller degree than most?

    The short clip I saw so far doesn't look like a man who feels confident - sighing and groping for words. I think the coaching staff has some work cut out for them starting in February.

    Sounds more like a difference between major leaguer versus career minor leaguer, than starter versus reliever.

    I think I'd rather have Will Smith than Aoki. So if he would have cost the Twins a similar price, probably no.

    The Similarity Scores found at b-r.com are just for fun; still, it's a little intriguing to see among the "most similar at age 25" Ben Oglivie and George Foster. Imagine catching lightning in a bottle like that. Of course you could also end up with the next Chet Ross.

    MLBTR points out the FL vs MN sales tax difference. That plus it being his home state, probably meant that Twins had to significantly outbid the Fish to get him

    I must be missing something. The comments I've seen on Pinto range from "ready for MLB starting job right now" to "needs a season of AAA, his defense is still not where it should be". Can't recall anything worse than that, let alone "hopeless".

    Isn't there a $20M windfall (TV revenue?) for each team starting this year? Maybe the As are approaching it as a chance to spend on an individual player or two, rather than spread it around more thinly. And Hudson for whatever reason (age?) wasn't to their liking for that expenditure.
