    The hole in this argument is, it can be used to justify drunk driving. same argument. "if people are scared about drunk drivers/COVID, they can stay off the road/stay home". "My liver/immune system is great, alcohol/COVID doesnt affect me the same".

    Agree, Pagan owned up to it. I disagree with his choice, but he at least didnt try to throw a pity party for himself. I havent heard anything from Thielbar or Megill, but Kepler's comment was tone deaf, and much of the reason I am annoyed with him.

    Because, according to Kepler, (paraphrasing) its sad that the whole team can't be together. yeah it is, but its because of a deliberate choice he made. If he wanted the team to be more whole, he could have.

    When it comes to public health issues, choices of others have large ramifications. but my point was saying "its part of the game" is a poor reason. These are deliberate choices made by players that have an effect on the team. getting hit by a ball and breaking a bone is part of the game, needing TJ surgery is part of the game. a deliberate non-choice is part of life, but not that game.

    This difference is this one is a choice. everyone missed 2020, Correa, Ryan, et al got a disease. injuries/illnesss/life issues are not choices that could have been avoided. the players that were placed on the restricted list could have made a decision anytime in the past year and a half that would allow them to play in Toronto.

    Im doctor, and this line "now runs a medical consultancy firm for insurance companies looking to deny benefits.". *chef's kiss*. It is truly amazing how many times I order something, get told to do a "peer to peer", (where I have to talk to a doctor from the insurance company to get something approved), and just by calling them, "Oh yeah, its aprroved, we are good to go". It is such a scam, just meant to waste time and save some money by hoping people dont call. *gets off soapbox*

    My grandma's second date with my mom's stepdad was game 2 of the '65 Series. She had the ticket stub, and always told me I could have it when she died, we just needed to find it. Sadly, I never found it or got it. What I think happened to it was, when she was moved from her house to a nursing home and my mom and her siblings were going through things to get the house ready for the market, someone was in a rush and just threw it in the garbage. Not that I'm not still bitter... but my favorite memorabilia that I do have is the large pennants that were flown at TF from 2010-2018 in left field. I have the '65 and '91 pennants. they are huge, 10' x 5'. I was able to get Oliva to autograph the '65 and Hrbek and TK to autograph the '91. I got them folded and framed and hung up on the wall.

    Ive done 2 different guided tours with Clyde, he is amazing. If the Twins wanted to make a ton of money, auction off a chance to sit with him during a game and just talk baseball, and listen to his stories. The man LOVES baseball, LOVES his job and his passion is infectious.

    I've been to about 7 games this year, my family has a 40 game season ticket plan. We budget for tickets, parking, food etc. It adds up A LOT, but we plan on it, because my wife and I love going to games. HOWEVER, I rarely complain when its not busy at the games. shorter lines, easier parking, less jackasses. thats my silver lining.

    I like Bremer a lot. I think his best quality is his ability to change his style based on his partner. I was getting a little annoyed with him by the end of Bert's tenure, but then I heard him with Torii, Latroy, Justin, and I realized how good he is, he just played into Bert's "old time" baseball cliches. But with the younger guys, he plays off of their style impeccably. I cant imagine watching games without his voice, I literally dont know any other play by play TV guy (born in 1984). His book made me like him even more.

    When I lived in KC, my wife and I met and went to lunch with one of the then-FSN sideline guys. While at lunch Drew and his girlfriend sat next to us. He talked to the sideline guy for a bit, said hi to us. Was pretty reserved, until he realized we weren't going to bug him and his GF nor ask him a ton of baseball related questions. Then he opened up, we just talked about how he and his GF met (not sure if they are still together or not), what he does outside of baseball, etc. That night at the game, we saw him warming up in the bullpen, my wife yelled at him that he needs to propose to his GF. He looked up and recognized us, laughed and yelled back "I'm planning on it". He was super nice, seemed like a good guy.

    As excited as I was/am about Correa, pitching depth (or lack thereof) is my buzzkill. I dont know what the answer(s) are, but something needs to happen and relatively quickly.

    Great article Rena. I cant believe its been 10 years. I remember living in Kansas City at the time, and stumbling upon Twins Daily (I dont remember how that happened), and being super excited about the fact that there was such a great online community of Twins fans, even though I was 400-some miles away. Heres to another great 10 years.

    the day after we signed Park, I have a Korean patient in clinic, after his appointment I asked him if liked baseball. He answered in broken English, "Yes! Byung-Ho Park! good hitter!". He was so excited that the local team signed a Korean player. I was at the game he hit that monster shot, I actually won a Park autographed ball that game with some in-game Twitter contest. I wanted him to succeed so badly. one of so many disappointments in 2016. I cant remember who coined "total system failure", but man was that accurate.
